GoPro Hero 7 Audio Input N/A causing terrible wind noise

- So as a new Motovlogger I could not seem to get any usable audio while riding even with an external mic inside a full face helmet! Found out you can't just plug any mic into the USB-C connector on the GoPro because it won't recognize the mic and it says audio input - N/A. I had to use the GoPro Mic Adapter and then plug the mic into the headphone jack. Now at least I have usable video with less wind that I'm sure can still be improved on!
Again Thanks to Whisky Chaser and SHHH Moto Travels for Helping me out and giving me the confidence that this was possible.
But which setting did you choose on input ??? I have like 4 different options. (with the adapter & external Mic)

GoPro put it in the firmware and there's a chip inside that adapter that tells the GoPro that oh there's a microphone plugged into it that's why they charge $49.99 for it

My hero 7 not even with the microphone adapter is recognizing the input 😢
Go pre hero 8 is gettin on my nerves. I used the go pro mic adapter for 2 yrs and it was great. Now its no longer working. I bought a media mod for $80 n that worked for 1 day n stopped working today. It keeps sayin N/A
Yeah I feel your pain brother... Now I am trying to figure out audio using a Insta 360... Love the camera but need a good audio solution. Good luck with the GoPro
I have the same issue and I have 2 GoPro adapters and it still doesnt work
Are you using the microphone that is TRRS or TRS? I'm not totally positive which one is which but I believe you need the microphone with the plug at the end that has only 2 lines going around the end of the jack, not 3 lines. Hope this helps! Now I'm dealing with issues trying to get audio with Insta 360 camera LoL

Sorry to hear that. There were so many problems with this issue. That is just what worked for me. Hope you can figure it out.
