- A treat for you guys! I found a great alternative to a MAC 187 Duo Fiber Brush, and more! Here's my review on various great brushes with unbelievable prices! International Shipping available! EnJoy!
www.coastalscents.com - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
hey vicks - yes Pigment are multi purpose. Vanilla can be used as a highlighter too, and any of the mac pigments are mainly used as eyeshadow colors.
thanks MissChiev - yeah thats the second thing I made sure, that my viewers overseas can take advantage of this as well.
hey ayyad - YES you can use the stippler brush on bronzers, other powders, mineralized skinfinishes, and the duo fibres are great for both powder and cream blushes.
hey Mosher - thanks for sharing! thanks for answering that concern too! Im glad to know that the frush comes off to wash WHEW! Thanks hun.
thank you so much for posting videos like this! you really have EVERYONE in mind when you make videos...not everyone has all kinds of money and you really show how to be a makeup artist on any kind of budget. thank you again sooo much!
yesp, that totally normal. Brush manufacturers uses a vegetable dye to preserve the bristles, specially those with black goat hair, so that they store nicely in their warehouses. They wash off after a few washes.
Thankyou for this video! I received my Coastal Scents brush order today and I'm so pleased with them. Thanks for introducing me to the company:)
thanks for the great info on the brushes! I just ordered some of the ones you recommended in your videos and I can't wait till I receive them! its awesome that you're sharing inexpensive products :)
same here. the prices are unbelievable!!!
koren, you are great! thanks for sharing all these great tips with us!
their makeup is great too! I will probably do a review on those too, but the compnay mainly sells material to make your own mineral line. So definitely check out their website for the rest of the stuff they have.
hey jacquie - I made a mistake of using my white bristled brush with red pigment and the red dye would not come off. So, what I do is I dilute fabric BLEACH with water, dip the bristle in the solution, let it sit for 1 minute, then wash the brush really thoroughly. It does the trick.
hi Kendra - yeah thats normal with large brushes. There are loose bristles from the binding and they will shed a little during the first few washes. Even my MAC brushes shed at first.
hey cubanita - synthetic definitely. Get the synthetic foundation brush and use that for the cream blush. You can also use the synthetic angled contour brush.
Hi Koren! I just love you videos, thanks for all of the great tips! I just got my Costal Scents brushes today and I am SO happy with them. They came super fast and I picked the least expensive shipping option. They came in a really nice little bag and with some samples of mineral powders. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention. For just about $50 I was able to get every brush I was missing from my collection, and a few that I already had but always wanted another (like the duo fiber).
I bought the duo brush last week and now I'm waiting for my haul... I'm excited!
I love your videos!
I just got my brushes and I love them. They are very soft. Thanks Koren for every review.
hi Sovann - using a wet brush is what we call FOILING and Pro MUAs should know that. Of course use extra precaution in doing so as it can cause your e/s to crust. I usually try to just use the outside rim of the e/s and avoid the center. But its completely ok to use a wet brush.
hey minty - yes either brush will work great for that purpose. Especially if you use minerals. Both are great buffers.
hey hspva - its a matter of preference. I like my brush handles on the long side. If you watch my other videos where i featured non MAC brushes, the handles are long. SO its a matter of preference. The PINK brushes have shorter handles. The softness works great for me, again, others prefer harder, others softer.
definitely! save on shipping, and get your friends interested too!
i love how excited you get
yes absolutely!
Awesome!!!! Thanks so much for the info. I'm sure you brought MANY happy customers to Coastal Scents.
hey musicdancer - yeah the large badges is great for mineralized, bronzers, blushers, pretty much any powder. The angled chisel is good for any contouring. Regarding different brushes, they are all options for you whether you get the paint brushes or coastal's. Just get what you think you can use without breaking bank.
I love your channel and all of your videos are so informative and you have wonderful tips that are super helpful. Thank you so much for all of the advice and tips.
Hi Koren, just wanted to THANK YOU for all the help. You have no idea how much you've changed our lives. We adore you! ;)
hi leggy - I have not tried dispensing/pump brushes because I have doubts that I can not wash them as often as regular brushes. Im sure you will have to keep emptying it to wash it and the refill it again. So for me, its more of an issue of not being able to wash pump brushes.
awe, thanks Karla - yeah hanging out would have been fun. I had a bit of down time, but well spent at Borders across the street!
Thanks Karla for sharing your experience with these brushes! Which one is your fave?
hey Lenny - yes its great for any natural bristle brushes including squirrel hairs.
Thanks for your review! I ordered these brushes and love love it!! Especially the pink kabuki brush!
Thanks Koren! I love your informative channel and you're so much fun to watch.
if you have a card that has a Visa or Mastercard Logo, it works much like a credit card. You just enter the number on the card, and the expiration date. You might want to email Coastal Scents to verify the order and that payment went through. The total is deducted from your bank/card account balance. And always ask your Parents consent if you're purchasing online.
definitely get a stippler for your liquid foundation. And if you use a cream concealer, then go for the concealer brush. The badger chisel is good for setting powder, and blush too.
hey Carla - they are pretty much the same size and the same density. Just the color is different. For cute factor, go for the PINK and its cheaper. I think the silver is $2 more.
you are so fabulous Koren!!! I love this video and am going to order some of their brushes ASAP!
You are actually my favorite this is sooo helpful
you're always looking out for us...
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
I freaking love you!! I've been wanting to buy the 187 brush for a while now. But I wasn't sure if I wanted to shell out the money. I'm so ordering it..thank you!
hey tmbabe - its a matter of preference. A lot of people like the longer handle because the small handle is harder to grip. Some who are used to the short kabukis prefer that. I personally would prefer a longer handled buffer, or also called kabuki on a stick. Regarding FLAT vs DOMED - if you need good coverage on your foundation FLAT is best as it is dense. If you want something you can start light, medium, full - then domed is your brush.
thanks Cory - I will definitely keep observing these and see which ones really last and which ones will cease. Do you remember which ones you got that did not last?
Thanks for the heads up on the stippling brush. I just ordered one. : )
hey Urban -Ive washed them about 3 times now, and very little shedding, just like any other brushes. This is normal as there are a few loose ones from binding. It usually eventually stops. Some did not even shed at all like the smaller eye brushes.
so this is my first video of yours that I've ever watched, and Im definitely subscribing. You are awesome!
OMG I truly believe you are God sent...I am so excited about getting these brushes since I am always looking for alternatives to MAC.
THANK U THANK U THANK U
i love you! you are so enthusiastic in all ur videos and have so much great info.
I just love you!!! Your videos are always informative!
What a great vid! Awesome for you to feature inexpensive brushes!!!
Your videos are so informative. I think they're great! thanks!!!
hey ArtMac - yes the bristles as the same as the mac ones, and Ive tried them on both liquids and powders, and works just as great.
Thank you for being patient, the website has been over loaded with shoppers, this causes the slow response.
Enjoy!
WOW!! Thanks EnKore! I've been wanting to buy the 187 for some time now, but didn't want to shell out 40 something dollars. You definitely always find the great buys.
Thank you so much for this, Koren! I've been debating whether I should buy the MAC brushes.. they just cost soo much.
So thanks! Looove you
My first post in here XD . I just really wanted to Thank you for all your amazing tutorials and also all the great finds!! I can't wait for the pink brushes to be launched and your eye brushes review!
love your intro to your videos! you are very talented and inspiring, thanks for sharing your gifts!
hey lil - not at all, its actually a good question. Bronzers are mainly used to add warmth, tan glow to the skin. Blushes add that rosey color. If you're pale, Bronzers will add tone.
i love you i love you i love you!!!!! :D you are amazing! i am sooooo happy you shared this with me! im a freelance makeup artist and right now i cant afford mac brushes but ive been dying to buy the 187. thank you koren!
love from Hollywood!
i did the same rigorous test on the CS brushes but just didnt film them, and of course as you see - there was loads of brushes in this video and It will take forever to film the test individually. Sigma only have 12 brushes and they are close comparable to MAC. CS has many other kinds of brushes. Both are great starter brush options and alternatives.
Thank you for showing us these brushes! I went on the website and ordered quite a few things and postage worked out to be less than a tenna!! (UK GBP). Can't wait to get them.
At the time this video was made in 2008, the MAC 187 brush was very new and one of the only of its kind. It was virtually impossible to get a cheap stipple brush like you can today :)
I went as soon as I watched this video and bought a load of brushes! I can't wait to try them out for myself! I had to stop myself from buying too much... you know, when prices are that good, I tend to go a little overboard. Thank you so much Koren, for refering us to this site! I made sure to let them know that you sent me ;) Hope they give you lots of perks! Be blessed!
hey Holly - if you got the one with the Black ferrule, those apparently are the new ones. They discontinued the silver one as they find the handle longer. I think the new black ones are fuller.
hi Nadesha - yes, like angeluv said, my Foundations video will help you out. If you're a cream foundation user and considering Coastal Scents, the Large Buffer would be great for creams - the one with the blunt cut top. Id say it will be comparabe to using a 109 which is best for cream foundations.
Ive been using the last 5 days, and washed 3 times. So far so good, a little shedding during the washes, then again, my MAC ones sheds too. They offer 3-month warranty so at least the next 3 months would be covered, and for the price, it should be ok until youre ready for more expensive ones you really like.
I love the angled chisel brush and the alternative to the 187...I use it to stipple on foundation everyday....I don't use the pink kabuko alot but I use it to blend out blush it is really cute!!
Thanks for the great site! LOVE that pink kabuki! Again, how could I not be cheered up by that ending where you fall over, too cute! Thanks for always making my day and helping me out! LOVE YOU! XOXOX
Thanks for this! I already ordered the pink kabuki, the 187 dupe and the buffer brush. I love their shipping options! I'm thinking of getting more coz they're so cheap!!
Oh, I'm just so excited!!
Thanks for always sharing such useful and helpful info. Love ya!!
hey Jam - very few the first time a washed, but nothing more than normal. Just like any other brand brushes. Most of the smaller eye brushes didnt shed at all. So, so far, so good.
hey amirah - I like the Ultimate 17pc Brush set Limited Edition the best. I think its a great set to have, and I love the leather roll. Youre on the right track as far as the additional brushes (badgers etc) are concerned. For your palette, looks like the NEUTRAL one is going to be most useful for you
i have just found your channle and its like walking in to aladins cave i love it and thanks for the info u the brushes have been looking every where for some thing like this xx
hey teresa - Ive washed them 3 times so far, and very little shedding No more than any other brand brush, I suppose. Some of the eye brushes didnt shed at all. The smaller bristles seem to be binded well.
THANK YOU KOREN!! LOVE YOU!!
Love your makeup tutorials. Definitely going to try some of these brushes. Looking for an inexpensive alternative to MAC
I'm going to wait for the pink collection! Looks great!
These brushes are definitely good alternative. MAC brushes of course are rated HIGH for cosmetic brushes, thats why they are quite popular. If someone can splurge, definitely go for it. If not, or just want to save some money, then these brushes are definitely the best buy.
Koren, this is just shows how influential you are...I've been trying to go to their website, and I can't connect because of so many people trying to hook up with them. Thanks for this great vid!
if you use liquid foundation, definitely use the Stippler Duo Fiber brush, like a MAC 187. Synthetics are great for creams and liquids, but not ALL your makeup ar ecream and liquids. If you use powders like eyeshadows, blush, bronzer, etc. then, the 17pc would be your best set.
Koren your the best and your super close to me I live in D.C. and my place over looks the potomac river. Enjoy the sites and weather. Thanks so much for all you do!
i just got my brushes and they're great! especially the pink kabuki brush, it's sooooooo soft :D i love it
hey Kei - yeah I love the badger!
OMG Enkore!!! You are amazingggg!!! Love the tips, really appreciate it:)
Wow, this is a useful tutorial! I've only seen two of your videos, but I've already subscribed; greetings from the island of Gran Canaria (Spain).
I use the CS pink stippling brush for liquid foundation...but with a slight twist..I trimmed the white synthetic bristles a teeny bit..airbrush looks flawless!
Whooo Koren! I'm gonna be checking the site out now.....I'm sure I'll pick up loads of brushes ☺
Man you're so nice to share your info etc....you should get paid for all this you're that good!!!
Can't wait till the eye brushes video.
Thanks & hope you're having a great time ♥
yes they do - they ship worldwide.
The Italian Badger set is amazing. You made a good choice. I'm very happy with their line :)
I got my stippling brush today in the mail! they had 40 percent off brushes last week, so it was like 4-5 dollars! I like it, it sheds a lotttt but hopefully it'll stop doing that. I'm excited to keep using it!
I love this video.....thanks so much I just found a new place to buy my brushes!
Awesome video! Have fun on your trip!
oooh thanks for the info Meibaby!
wow! im so gonna order some now. im totally coming to you when i have brush questions!
yeah you can carefully scrape the crust part off.
thanks, koren :) you're the best.. and i love your positive energy. it's so contagious :)
Happy to see you've enjoyed Costal Scents! I've ordered a few hauls from them before, and i've loved what i have received.
Although i wish you would show the Length of the brushes because some of the brushes are quite long, or quite short.
hi Rei - the 15 pc pretty much have all the basic brushes you need. You might want to add an angled contour brush (similar to 169), and an angled liner brush (similar to 266) to that set.
hey ricepudden- the duo stippler brush, gives liquid foundation that airbrushed finish.
There's a set on the site right now that includes the Ulta duo fiber, foundation, blush, and shadow brush all for $29.99. That's a pretty good deal!
hey Waffles - you can use Vanilla Pigment, or you can check out the Sculpt and Shape highlighters from MAC.
