- Here's my review of some of the eye brushes from coastal scents. Enjoy, I will be reviewing more badgers and pink brushes soon. EnJoy!

hey ray - yeah its great for dabbing e/s and the pointed for the crese is nice.
Hi Jess - its the only concealer I have in my Pro KIT. One compact, many colors and mixable. Thanks for the request.
yes the bristles are of the same materials whether black goat hair for the naturals or taklon for the synthetics. The Italian Badger only comes in the black handles. Those are nice too.

hey Elyn - the crescent brush is definitely a specialty brush, but in my opinion, nothing you can't achieve with any ordinary eyeshadow brush. Thanks for the request, I will have to add that to my list so people can see how I use that brush.
hey jaylyn - yes, the weight! The pink brushes are lighter in weight than the regular black ones, because of the ferrule material.
yeah it cold and rainy the first couple days I was in PC/DC area - then it was sunny, but cold.
yeah, still nice and fluffy. the bristles are all still full. a few dents here and there on the ferrules from me throwing them on the table doing quick jobs.
Hi Judy - Spring/Summer, peaches, corals, and berries are popular. Check out the new Blushes that just came out from MAC. Very Spring/Summer colors.
hey Tia - Im really diggin the Badgers. There's not a lot of different kinds, so check them out. The Pink Blush brush is great as well as the angle contour brush. Foundation brush and concealer brush which is also great for eye primers. I'd suggest just start with the basic birth that you will use often. Then add other brushes.
hey Gloss - the lip brush is pretty firm - yeah, you can use it for concealers its firm enough for that.
hey ruby - I second amirah, the limited 17 piece is a set of its own kind. The handles are different and the brushes are kind similar but totally different for any other CS brushes. Oh and I love the brown leather roll.
hey namsj- I like the synthetics. depending on what kind of brush determines the softness. Like the face brushes are soft, but the liner are brushes are stiffer which is what you would like really.
check out the eye poxy primer, the 88-color palette (avialable back in stock this weekend), and the mineralized shadows are pretty good.
Awesome. I just ordered quite a few brushes. Cannot wait to receive them. I am such an addict. This is like a hobby and an art at the same time. I had no idea so many people enjoy this passion with me.
hi Cindy - stipple brushe sare great for liquid type foundations, including tinted moisturizers.
hey sweestax - hmm thats a good one. Im never really big on duet brushes, and not a lot of people are. But I do have a video coming up that might help. I just need to plan it out to accomodate Duets. So keep watching.
hey Cheryl - Hyper Real Powder is great! specially if you want that dewey glow finish. Altho very, very few tones available and not avilable at all stores.
the Foundation/Concealer Brush is the closest to the 252, but the handle is shorter.
Hi Jacquie - using fabric bleach will not harm the bristles as long as you dilute it. Id say, 1 teaspoon of it mixed with 4 teaspoons of water.

were you considering their mineral line? I only have a couple of them. But if youre tanned, definitely check out the golds. If youre not afraid of colors, check out purples and burgundies too. You can also buy the sample sizes to try out the colors.
shipping is calculate by weight, I believe. The best cheapest shipping is USPS First Class or First Class International

the 217 - because its great to apply and pack eyeshadow and blender at the same time. 224 will not pack the colors, but a great blender.

hey Yamina - I'll see if I can order it. Im not big on sets, cuz some of the brushes can be useless. Better to just pick a few brushes you think you will use often, know what I mean? But I will see if I can review them.
many here seems to like the 13-piece set. My suggestion start with the brushes that you will use often. If you wear foundation, get a foundation brush, if you wear blush, get a blush brush, etc. Don't be overwhelmed that you need 28 different eyeshadow brushes to do your eyes. You can start with just one eyeshadow brush and an angled liner brush, and you can create many looks with that.
hey jacquie - washing your brush at least once a week is very ideal. Doing quick-clean using cleanser is good after every use, or at least every other day. I have a Video and recipe on making homemade brush cleanser. Just look it up!
hey ilovetds- the closest is the Large Oval brush from the Pink collection.
well, these brushes are geared towards minerals user, so I assume they will have the same characteristics as other mineral companies like BE.
hehe oh mommie- the fibers vary on brushes and their uses. Denser fibers like Badgers and Goat Hair picks up more powder color so thats why they are ideal for powder products like eyeshadows, bronzers, minerals. Softer hairs like sable and squirrel applies less color so great for subtle looks. Synthetics like Golden Taklon are great for creams.

the brush sets looks like a great deal, and definitely ideal for starters. Im sure the brushes are much like the singles. I didnt order the sets as I prefer the singles better, Im sure I will as they are great gift ideas - hmm which reminds me, my Mom's brithday in a couple days.

Shar beb - Loew Cornell Royal brand at Michaels have Ann's Mop brushes thats like a 217.
hey foosie - i heard from UK fans that using USPS First Class International is best - it doesnt take that much longer to get to the UK, 5-7 days I believe.
None, I havent seen an alternative to the 188 anywhere else yet.

USPS First Class Mail is the cheapest, takes about 7-10 business days, and is only available up to 4 pounds. After 4 pounds, only Priority is available. This is like 5-7 days. The exact shipping cost is shown on checkout, after entering the address, before payment.

lesmiz - no not at all, no seperating on the bristle and the bristle is golden taklon, so its pretty resistent.

Sofar, so good, many have bought and most are happy - of course everyone have preferences, to some, their too soft, some, their too heavy. For the most part, they are great alteernatives. Coastal Scents cut out the middlemen and get them direct, and stocks them by thousands, therefore its cheaper. And the brushes are NOT branded. If some famous person or company stamp their name on these brushes its can sell for far more, yet still the same brush.

I just ordered a whole batch of brushes from coastal scents and haven't received it yet but I've heard tons and tons of good reviews about it. So I was wondering, how are the brushes at coastal scents comparable to the ones from m.a.c. because I thought if they are really that awesome, then I wouldn't have to save for m.a.c anymore and just get my brushes from coastal scents. is that a good idea?

I am so excited for the pink line ..I have basic mac eyebrushes but I want to try the face brushes and the 228, from coastal when do the pink ones come out besides the kabuki?
I am almost certain that Coastal Scents get the brushes from Crown brushes. Google it. It will probably be marginally cheaper to buy from there but the minimum order is $15 I think. They make and supply brushes to high end brands. I beleive they also supply to MAC and possibly Smashbox but I have no hard evidence of that.
