- Hey Beginners! This video is to help you guys decide on which eye shadow brush is going to be most suitable for what you need. Ask your family for brushes as gifts or stocking stuffers this holiday season! Any hoo - hope this video gives you an insight on my picks of MAC shading brushes. EnJoy!

yes definitely take advantage of Christmas List - ask for both.
Artist brush like Loew Cornell - its called an Ann's Mop Round. Coastal have a couple brushes comparable to 224 too, and Crown have some too.
my fave for waterlining is Styli-Style 24 hour Line & Seal pencils.
oooh yeah - thats mostlikely to be one of MAC's very very very FIRST line of brushes!
awe... thanks! I just keep it real, and try to cover things that others don't. There are many beauty gurus here and we are all here to help everyone out.
yes, definitely
the closest I saw is called a Loew Cornell Dome brush. Its in the natural bristle section at michaels with green handles.
yeppers!
224 is just a great blender brush, hard to apply makeup with it, so you use it as a secondary brush to blend after the color has been applied by another brush. 217 is both great in applying and blending.
the hairs are shaven off the animal, much like wool from sheeps. So the animals are not harmed at all to harvest brush bristles. There are syntho brushes that works the same as naturals. Check out Crown Brushes or Coastal Scents and view their syntho lines.
yes, Bare Canvas is a great primer/base
hi Gail - if the 272 is working for you now, then keep using it. If you feel you are ready to add and try the 239, the look into it. I personally think the 239 works better when applying loose powders, just my opinion.
Hek yaaaaa!!!!!!
its AmAzInG!!!
You always make sure you always use prestine clean brushes on clients -- and what impresses them most is using super clean white bristles, because it makes them more confident that you use real clean tools on them.
210 is great for liquid lining. Its a thin liner brush.
I arrange mine the way I use them -- starting with Foundation brush, Face Brush, Powder brush -- then the eye brushes -- the blush and skin finishing brushes -- the lip brushes. So I simply just go down the line...
217 is Anns Mop flat and 242 is a filbert brush - just eyeball the size.
You really helped me! Now I am just as excited about brushes as I am with the eyeshadows. Thanks so much!!
the 224 is a loew cornell Ann's Mop round, and the 217 is the Ann's Mop flat.
ive got my son on my lap watching your videos. he is only 5 months and every time you laughed or smiled he cracked up! so cute. great video. i couldnt decide what brushes i needed to buy and now i know!
YES IT DOES -- but if I set it with powder, it helps a lot.
I got my sister a set of MAC brushes for her prom, also the occasion of her first makeup application by a MAC pro and I did the same for my daughter for her college graduation. Funny thing about that - I never thought of asking for brushes for Christmas or a birthday for ME! This year for sure.
the SE sets are machine made as opposed to the full-size that are hand made. The bristles on the SE's tend to be stiffer than the full size ones. If the LCs are working for you, stick to it - if you are ready to get MAC brushes, go for the full size.
i would recommend both brushes. I would say the 224. The 217 is great for smokey kind of looks or packing a lot of color in the crease and for applying paint pots too.
This was extremely helpful - I really appreciate your detailed explanations on each brush - I have always been confused as to which one I should get - now I know!!!! Thanks!!!!
I 100% agree. I have a ton of brushes and my 217 is my ultimate favorite!!!
Thank you! Very VERY informational.... you can't buy this kind of knowledge... thanks a mill!!!! Highly appreciated....
for the most part, theyre pretty ok, but if you're comparing to say Clinique who really specializes in Skincare, I think they still have a few things to work on.
the new brush 226!
Koren, you are so amazing. Thank you so much for making my make up application muuch easier!
thank you very much!!!!!! i wanted to buy the 217 and the 239 and now you convinced me!! we love you!!
THANKK YOUU! i've been trying to figure out which mac brushes i wanted without asking the MUAs, u saved me so much effort!
hi everyone, ive been always using the classic sponge eyeshadow applicator, I tried the brush just few days ago and thats the greatest way ever of how to apply the eyeshadow. i appreciate it so much.
Thank you. I am ordering these brushes today with the MAC sale! Ordering the 219, 217, 239 and 224 as per your recommendations! Thank you, thank you and THANK YOU for helping me be confident.
Love you
the 242 is better. 194 is the proper MAC concealer brush so check that out too.
Glad to see you are feeling all better!!!
omg,i thought it was just me about the 222. everybody loves 222 except me.i have deep crease and when i use this, it doesn't blend but only gives me a sharp line. koren, you are king of makeup brushes, you really are very knowledgable when it comes to brushes.
Thank you so much. You're very knowledgable. I always enjoy your vid.
Hi Koren!
I already know what brushes I prefer to use but I just wanted to say that I love your videos. Even if it's on a subject that I already feel I know about, I watch them because you're always so informative and well spoken. Your videos help me help others :)
Thanks so much!

Hi Korean, just wanna say I love the way you explain things. Thanks for all the great videos!
thanks a lot... this video make clear idea about eyeshadow brush!!!
Thank you Koren! Some people don't understand that a few of us have really oily eyelids so not a lot primers work on us.
I wouldn't think MAC Paint Pots would work on my lids, but I totally trust you cause I have the same oily lid problem. I'm gonna check them out the next time I hit the MAC counter, lol.
Oh & I totally agree with the #217 being the all around e/s brush. It was my first MAC brush ever & the MUA who recommended it to me was sooo right.
LOVE this tutorial. All the MAC talk in other you tuber tutorials gets confusing!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video! I love that you're putting all this great info out there for the holidays.

Hi Koren. I just wanted to say, that I think you seem like the sweetest, funnyest, kind and quirky (in the best possible way). Love your videos, and your personality. So thank you for that. Hugs from Mette from Denmark :)

Great video as always! Thank you!
I have to say that I have all must haves, and totaly agree (well, I may have bought all of mine after your first video :)). Excellent video Koran. Would love to see few new eye looks with your fav mac eye shadow combos!
i want a 217 brushh!
very helpful tips thanx!
Thank u!!
I didnt really believe the hype of the 217, that was until I got it! It is the most useful brush for beginners who want to develop their skills. I think its probably possible to getaway with using a cheaper eyeshadow brush to pack on colour but its really worth spending the money for a 217. Thanks for a really good vid again Koren.
i have oily lids too. i use udpp and also coastal scents eye poxy primer. you should try that if you haven't yet!! it's great.
WOW, thanks so much Koren. I am going to get all the three Adoring Carmine sets for Xmas, so all I will need now is to buy the 224 blending brush which is not included in any of the sets.
Thank you for this video! I've been looking into investing on MAC eye brushes but didn't know which are the basic ones I should get first. You really helped! I think I know which 4 brushes I want for Christmas. :)
I've leaned so much with you.
This video was so helpful, Thank you so much.
Great video and a lot of good information. Thanks Enkore
Happy Holidays
more like a 217 if thats round instead of flat-ish, and has dark bristles. Its definitely smaller than a 224.
you are so awesome! Thank you soooooo much! This is much more helpful than going to a Mac Store. :)
Thanx, was a very helpful review!
What a life-saver lol; great video!
Great video, it helps us beginners know what we really need to spend the big bucks on........at the MAC store!
you're so sweet! thanks for breaking it down!
Thank you. :)
Oh, please make for us video with your favourite mac shadow combos, or even tips on how to find a good match for shadows! Now some of us thanks to your tips have excellent brush and shadow collections, but I am useless matching colours..
this is great!!
the word you were looking for was "prickly",,i know exactly what you're talking about regarding the feeling of the goat hair, thoughi find that to be the case with those kind of brushes of all types, not just the blender brush
thank you! this is a great helpful video!
this vid helped me alot. thx so much
Thank you SO MUCH for this video!!!!!!!!!!!
