    I know your video is 10 yrs old but I am soooo glad I came across this video I believe 1 year ago. And I still every now and then come back to check myself and make sure which buffing type brush gives a certain coverages I’m needing at that time. I have a very slightly/mild condition “the name is to long” that interrupts my memory and I’m at times highly forgetful but I always Remember this video is my FAVORITE!!! Your thankfully very explanatory and get straight to the point with a demonstration all in a nice time consuming video... PLEASE NEVER TAKE THIS VIDEO DOWN LOL much much much love I and I’m sure many of us truly enjoy it’s 🤘🏼😘

    very good question! these days everyone refers to most buffer brushes as kabukis. But for the most part, a Kabuki brush does not have ferules (metal part). Its mainly constructed with just the handle, and bristles.

    Oh wow, I've never actually seen a flat top kabuki brush before,I definitely have to hunt for one now. I needed more coverage and this will save me time lol. You're videos are awesome! Thank you so much for uploading!

    hey sugar - Glycerin sets to a Hi-Shine gloss finish. Unless you want that, then glycerine spray can work. You will not get a matte finish to your foundation if you use it.

    hey klai - the density of the bristles is mainly the key, the denser it is, the more coverage you get. For the blush brushes you listed, 116 will give you more flexibility in application from light, buildable to more coverage.

    hey reez, I love using the 109 on creme foundations, and of course, the 187 stippler on liquid foundation. There are a number of mineral makeup brands out there, for the most part - mineral makeup is made of natural ingredients mined from the earth. So regardless of the brand name they all will contain the same natural ingredients like mica, titanium dioxide, kaolin clay, etc.

  • @EnKoreMakeup
    @EnKoreMakeup  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    hey pauli - concealer is what you use to cover imperfections like acne/pimples, birthmark, scars, etc. The foundation is what you apply all over your face after you conceal/cover to even out your skin tone. Then the powder is what sets the products specially cream and liquid makeup so that it sticks to your skin better. And thats the order you apply - concealer first, then foundation, then powder to set.

    hey Assie - it can be drying to already dry skin so I advise to really moisturise the skin prior to makeup application. Mineralized by nature absorbs oil, so a lot of people with oily skin are starting ot gear towards mineral makeup. Its hard to know if somethng is mineral unless you have the ingredients list printed. You can find out what Brand it is, and look it up online.

  • @EnKoreMakeup
    @EnKoreMakeup  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    hey Paige - i like to be able to have a variable in application, so I can either choose to start light and the build to whatever coverage I wanted, so Im gearing towards the domed at the mo. But having the flat top is handy as well in my profession.

    for the most part - Kabuki brushes is another term used for BUFFER brushes - so if the bush is intended to used as a buffer, most will call it a kabuki brush

    hey lorina- sounds like you will need to prime your skin so that your foundation doesnt sink into your pores. You can check out Prep & Prime Skin from MAC, Photo Finish from Smashbox, or if you like minerals, check out Diva Defense primer at coastalscents. I heard its good mineral primer.

    You can ask any makeup brand employees on the ingredients. every makeup company have a list of each of their products and its ingredients. But I tell you now, mineral makeup are probably the only ones that doesnt have all those fillers and additives.

    You can use blotting sheets like purplexfire suggested. If you are looking for a powder anyway - MAC Blot Powder should be ok. Invisible if you have access to Pro products. Fix+ have a built in balancer toner (arganine), and it will help a little with your oily skin. Look into MAC Oil Control Lotion too.

  • @EnKoreMakeup
    @EnKoreMakeup  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes, I find that its a little shimmery for me, I like matte minerals. Mineral makeup, no matter what brand, are made from the same natural ingredients. Nothing is lab produced, so in my opinion, its just branding that makes the diff.

  • @EnKoreMakeup
    @EnKoreMakeup  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have 2 videos on Fix+ for you to watch. That might answer your question.

  • @EnKoreMakeup
    @EnKoreMakeup  16 ปีที่แล้ว

    not when youre buffing, in most cases, reason why mineral foundation doesnt last in the skin is because its nor buffed well into the skin, so just a little more pressure than normal when you are applying mineral foundation is needed.

    hey bretz - so far, BFTE foundation is the one that works for me, there's no shimmer and the coverage is great as I can build it. I also recommended it to my other guy friends in entertainment as it does look the most natural on Guys, and of course for women too without the shimmer and glitters some foundations have. Just moisturize your skin before applying mineralized foundation.

  • @EnKoreMakeup
    @EnKoreMakeup  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    no, you dont want natural bristles on liquid foundation. And they are so dense it will just absorbe the foundation more between the bristles. I suggest using th 187 it will give you an airbrushed look if you wear liquid foundation.

  • @vancitygurl
    @vancitygurl 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    awesome tutorial! I am actually planning on switching from liquid foundation to minerals. Currently I use Revlon Colorstay but I hate the cakey look it gives me. I want more of a natural look but at the same time a full coverage. What do u suggest for a full coverage foundation for acne prone and uneven skintone? Also the flat top brush u said it's from Mac?

  • @everythingtaken19

    thanks for clearing this up for me. I have always used a flat top brush (Jane Iredale) - which I love but it is old and needs replacing: I have heard so much about the dome shaped kabuki brush that I was thinking of getting one to compare. I now know that I don't have to waste my money buying a dome shaped kabuki ($88 in Australia!)

    No, most do not, because mineral makeup bounces off camera and not very photo friendly due to its high mica content, along with other shimmery ingredients. For photoshoot and film, we use Hi-Definition Makeup and camera-friedly products.
