My dear friend Professor M, Thank you for the lovely shout out. I'm sorry I haven't been in touch but life has been somewhat difficult. My mother became quite ill and passed away the week before Thanksgiving. I've found it very hard to summon much enthusiasm for the morbid and macabre aesthetic lately. I did enjoy the quiz and scored a 9/10. I prefer Classical music more than any other genre. I hope you and your family are having a happy holiday season.
Dear SharonG~ I am right there with you. I completely understand. Losing a parent, we never fully heal from and I know, as you had heard me look up to the ceiling calling on my dad. The lost feeling of enthusiasm for morbid is real, what it is, is, our touch with it, and then that reflects on how we see our future ahead. It took a year to regain my balance, you need time to heal. On a more upbeat note congrats on the 9/10, thats an A+. And likewise, wishing you peace at the dawn of 2024. You got some great things and I appreciate your book suggestions :) I have different thoughts on Wednesday. I love Jenny as Wednesday and from what I've seen, she is doing a great job. I only get to see it once in awhile at my son's house as I don't currently, have Netflix. For me, I would prefer to have Raul Julia back as Gomez because he was my favorite; but as we know he is no longer with us ;( I would also like to see their home and more of the family. What hit me when watching the clips was, correct me if I am wrong but it seemed like Hogwarts in Harry Potter. Let's see where this series goes and see how it ends. Going back again to 91 and 93 Addams, I actually once said I sooo wished they made a third movie.

I wondered whether I should watch Wednesday. I don't particularly trust mainstream depictions of subcultures, especially goths, because a lot of people tend to think that goth is just emo without the pink, but if it's good, I'll give it a chance over New Year's. I don't have Netflix, but, ahem, the high seas aren't as dangerous in this part of the world as in some other places.

The plot twist was apparent from the beginning, but cleanly executed, imo, so even though I knew what was going to happen, I was more invested in _how_ it would happen. I didn't particularly like the show throwing boys at Wednesday like it was trying to "cure" her of her disinterest in romance, but I didn't expect anything else, really.

And I suppose I have pretty strong opinion on the subject as a trans person somewhere on the edge of ace spectrum. It feels like a double wack across the head. It's apparently normal to push a teenage girl into a romantic situation, when she has previously expressed lack of interest no less, but it's us who are "sexualising children". And the lack of interest in romantic relationships itself is supposed to look immature when it _might_ be a feature rather than a bug. I'm not saying that Wednesday has to be ace, but the show doesn't even entertain the possibility. I'd better shut up now, I know it's more of a me problem than the show's :) As for music, I don't know? Depends on how much Netflix is willing to pay for a Lady GaGa song, and how much the fanbase pushes for it. I probably won't even notice tbh :) Unless they bring in someone like Lacrimosa, which is very unlikely.
