9/10 for me! Not surprising, but kind of funny because I'm in my 40s and I'm finally diving fully into the subculture after decades of dabbling and feeling uncertain if I could or should fully embrace the scene. Alas, I can no long deny the darkness in my soul lol So glad I found this channel! Professor M, thank you for being a dapper and charming mentor of the macabre!
I scored 9/10, Im a 43 year old baby bat as when i was younger, wanting to be goth was not accepted at home. I have hidden my true self for around 30 years. I now feel free to express myself my way and I am so much happier for it.
I was relieved to score 10 in your excellent quiz. I recently discovered your channel and just wanted to say how much I appreciate your thoughts. As a 59 year-old man who has finally plucked up the courage to embrace the dark side, it's really good to have an adult male perspective as a lot of the goth content on TH-cam appears to be aimed at younger and female audiences. I look forward to reviewing more of your work.
MichaelMcNamee~Wow, that was a nice compliment! Thank you!- I had one other member write similar words, saying, "That there are so many goth sisters creating TH-cam content, that there is a lack of goth men's voices being heard" And, on top of that, they are primarily a part of the second wave and the third waves of goth. So, I only found that there was one other Elder goth sister who was making content I believe that she is in her 60s. However, she was primarily doing makeup tutorials. ~ 2 years ago during the whole covid-19 episode , I was laying on my bed one night, looking up at my ceiling, and I asked myself ,"What is it I really want to do?" and it hit me that I wanted to delve back into exploration of the gothic world. I wanted to showcase goth fashion, share my collection of clothes that I've been collecting for the last 20 years. I also wanted to share information about Gothic history, for the younger Gothic Generations. And I really wanted to do was welcome back all of the Elder Goths who are now returning back to the gothic scene. It was wonderful to receive your response- and I am welcoming you to the channel. And have a Happy New Year!🎩
10/10, and kind of shocked but not shocked either. As a kid I had a rough time and not allowed to do things like explore my expression. However, I watched my stepsister go full "Mall-Goth" look while not achieving half the answers here and so... fought against being Goth despite loving it. Now at 31 I am realizing I am Goth and free to be myself. No idea if I'd be a "baby bat" with half my joints creaking but I am accepting it. Oh, and speaking of "Goth Breath"... nothing beats a London Fog, especially with a touch of ginger
OstensibleEcho, Congrats on 10/10. Mall Goth, yes, I know it well. You mentioned London Fog-- well, I was like, is he mentioning- the clothing line, the drink, the city or something else? The ginger was the clue. I will have to have one myself. At 31- you are more becoming elder than you think. The longer you have been in Goth the age factor matters. You are what I would say pre-Elder ( smile) and "As a kid I had a rough time and not allowed to do things like explore my expression" absolutely. Yes, I get that. You are on the right channel. I will talk more about that in future videos- speaking of which- Welcome to the channel!!
I’ve been into the goth scene for about one or two months now and I’d still call myself a babybat, but because of that I’m really proud to say that I got an 8 out of 10 since I didn’t expect myself to get that much! 🖤
Ilikecatshehe~ You may be more Goth than 8/10 those are just a sample of questions. But your true Gothiness comes from within. The more you seek the more everything immerges. When I was in high school, I had no idea there was even a label for folks like us.
Surprisingly, I scored 10 points. I think I'm a closet goth, if that's even a branch of goth, lol. This was a fun video. By the way, I love that music video that Madame Absinthe was in, Dark Nightmare.
Map~ We can make a 47th branch just for you. Madame Absinthe yes was in a music video. She told the story of how hard it was just getting to the place to make it and the airport fiasco she went through being dressed up. Welcome to the channel🎩
I take the tea is ... black tea! 😁 1) I wished I could. Unfortunately all cemeteries in my town forbid it. 2) Not only do I listen Goth music: I dance to it! 3) Not only I am drawn to dark objects, I make myself a walking dark ... object! 4) Yes, a day without Halloween is a wasted day! 5) Yes, I am particularly fond of classical Goth literature from the XIX century. 6) Dark movies, yes, I never have enough of them. One of my favourite ones is Burton's Corpse Bride. I consider also Bergman's Fanny and Alexander a Goth movie (and not the only one from that director). 7) Goth fashion, needless to ask! 😆 8) European Gothic Cathedrals have been enchanting me since I was a child! I visited the Glass Chapel in Arkansas, set in a wood, and I loved it! All right, I already qualify as a full-blown Goth. But let's go ahead. (Yes, I do have tea. Usually black tea in the morning and green tea in the evening) 9) "Do you have a preference for the alternative world?" This is a difficult one. Yes, I felt an outcast many, many times, I currently do on this season's festivities as I am the only Goth in my family. 10) A Goth mindset, yes, Goth has become encrusted in my mind. Thank you for the video and quiz.
Well that was a wonderful response! What I got there was a full conversation completely answering all my questions. I had a thought in my mind, 'what people's answers would have been', and you did beautifully in responding to each one of them so I knew. I mean how many folks would actually write back all that, and share each and every one of the subject matters so I thank you so much. A tea, into the Sea of Tranquili-TEA. For myself I've been drinking it British style I have black tea with milk and I've had it for over the last 40 years. And I was very interesting to read that you cannot eat in the cemeteries in your location. How interesting, but what that means is that you can find some place in the future that does allow it. Yes there are signs that say no loitering in cemeteries, however when I was working and I was having my lunch in the cemeteries- it was like nobody cared. Very very special and happy New Year to you!! Always great to hear from you.🎩
Luiscortes~ 50's club here- I'll be 52 in January. Sometimes what we all need is a bit of confirmation. I was seeing this question over and over again, and I thought to myself why don't I just talk about it. Then I said no, I should go one step further and do a lecture on it, then I thought, why not just have a person find out? And that's the quiz was born. It took me a while to compile all 10 areas that I thought represented what a goth is made up of. Welcome to the channel. 🎩
Yes!! 10/10 Points! Thank you for this very entertaining video. I love the details, you installed in the video. Best wishes for the year 2024, Professor M.
i'm very pleased to have gotten 10/10, having considered myself a goth for almost 5 years now its about time i took a quiz. all goths must at some point in their journey.
Dear Elder GregHarris, 🎩~ I would put your score at a 13/13. Wow. I could have added three more questions for a total of thirteen :#11 Are you over 50? #12 Have you ever been married on Halloween? #13 And are a Widow? I woke up this morning, and was really taken by your comment. (It conjured up 19th Century Victorian images from an amazing book called Widow Weeds & Weeping Veils by Bernadette Atkins, printed by the Gettysburg Press) Again, your comment, wow. Welcome to the channel brother, and a Happy New Year.🎩
It appears I have scored 10. I always enjoyed the darker side of things yet I never really considered myself "goth" Probably because I don't like being associated in many groups for some reason. But I am a very alternative person and intrigued by the macabre and bizarre things. I look more like a punk than a goth lol but I also enjoy dressing in Victorian era clothing and or accessories every now and then. When I do though I often dress in a black band T usually something folk punk related or 90's alt rock like Dinosaur Jr or Guided by Voices and the rest of my outfit will consist of an unbuttoned civil war union frock coat with a civil war kepi and a pair of gray or black jeans I also like to finish off the outfit with black boots or shoes but preferably boots. My hair is pretty long and past my chest and I usually let it down I rarely tie it up unless for work and I am a pretty pale individual! I am also an artist who enjoys drawing/ painting gothic surrealism and such. I even noticed recently as a musician who produces my own music almost all of my songs have a relation to death not on purpose either! I guess I am just naturally morbid lol and my style is kind of my musical persona now so I have all these ideas for future musical and creative development so maybe I am some sort of neo civil war goth if that is somehow a thing lol Great video I found you today from your recent one on your personal story and I love your content already! Oh and I am also a fellow New Englander born and raised in Massachusetts now living in southern Maine. I used to live about 25 minutes from Salem and I would always visit due to the dark yet rich history and even the paranormal vibe the location gives me! Maybe someday in the future I will move there... it is oddly a peaceful place to me. I will be sure to check in for your new content while I catch up on the old! Peace to you and stay goth! 🖤
Sketchyshades- Wow, that was really nice to read. I wanted to tell you that when I saw that you were a native New Englander it really made me smile. As soon as you said Southern Maine I'm thinking to myself must be up near Saco or even Portland. No, your presence on your comment really comes across as Goth. Even though you may not have full comfortability with being a part or having a label everything that you mentioned that's very Goth. The very thing that we often are looking for is usually right underneath us. There's an old saying "don't look any farther than your own backyard". And in my case reading your comment really put a smile on my face. I am very honored that you got to see this video as the first one you scroll back there's 51 other videos you can look at. Hopefully something will be educationally good for you. And welcome to the channel nice to have you!🎩
I got 9 out of 10. The music was what got me, i love all music, and so that was a hard one. As for tea. Yes i love tea. I'm actually havi g a lemon/ginger herbal tea, but my favourite is Earl Grey. Oooooh i just heard my name shout out. Thank you so much Professor M. 🖤💜🖤
Hello Lynn!, yes you are one of the TH-camrs that have left me very warm comments, that have touched my heart throughout the year. And I compiled a list of individuals I thought okay, these are the people who write me, why not give him a shout out in the end of 2023. Earl Gray, yes, I drank it many of the times in the 90s. I am a black tea type of guy with milk. And I also had been drinking Celestial Seasons Tangerine Zinger, one of my favorite herbal teas ever. And, I started adding honey to that too-- goodness gracious me the taste just sends me. I could drink a whole gallon of it. You know what my biggest problem is? Trying to keep the tea warm enough. I really like it hot hot hot. Isn't that the lyrics from a cure song? -LOL. Anyways always good to hear from you. Wishing you an absolutely wonderful happy New Year more videos to come!🎩🦇
Hihi~ baby bat here. Managed to score 9/10. I recently rekindled my love for the subculture! I've always known about it and always admired it from movies to bands to online personalities but never really knew where or how to get started in it. (Was absolutely obsessed with gothic things when I was a child) Thought well this quiz looks fun let me try it out! Thank you so much for actually putting in so much material into the video, a lot of bands I hadn't heard of were in here and some authors too - I cannot wait to check them out!
The first video I’ve seen since I’ve subscribed as it’s released! I love your content and your affinity for the macabre- got a 10/10 or a 9.5 considering I’m new-ish to the Goth music genre, although I do enjoy it!~ Keep the content coming, you are a delight to watch!~ 🖤⚡️✨
TheVintageVamp ~ what a cool ID name you have. Congratulations on your 10/10, and even a 9.5 is still considered an A+. If you are new to The Goth music genre, that's perfectly fine you'll have 40 years worth of History to discover. And I'm very glad that you enjoyed the content. Welcome to the channel.🎩
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 My alias under this username is Dr. Memento, which already counts as a Goth name from what your video suggests, hehe! I’m excited to explore and see what the genre has to offer! ^^
Ariannakhan ~I think that you've come to the right Channel. I share in my limited videos a lot about the gothic culture, it's history, and what's going on in the modern scene. I hope that you scored very well on my quiz. There is so many aspects and so many different areas of the goth world and The Goth community, that, over time you find out what you love, and what aspects draw you to this subculture. If you ever have any questions, about Gothic culture past present or future, feel free to ask. Because I probably could use the question to create a future videos. Wishing you a very happy New Year. 🎩
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 you ask me about my age earlier I 18 years old I admire the goth subculture because I feel safe and loved in reality I feel left out and alone
Uniquelyme~ Absolutely. I have had a few people on Instagram tell me they saw the videos and one person said very similar words! And, he said " Your laughter is infectious, I love when you do the Mwhahahahahahaha" - It comes so natural. 🎩 🦇
Full score here. Haha. Not sure if it was unexpected😉🤗 Myself is allergic to all sorts of tea. So in my cup you will find coffee instead. Hope you have a fabulous Gothic New Year! Stay safe Professor M 🦇🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇 Pst... Thanks for mention me 😄🤗🦇🦇🦇🦇
Sanniz~ I've watched so many of your little clips. I've enjoyed you showing parts of corner of the world, to us that many of us would never see. I really enjoyed watching where you answered the questions in the Q&A, and I often find that I really enjoy your sincerity in answering questions. And you share the truth. About coffee and tea, my mother got me hooked on tea, my father was a serious coffee drinker. I absolutely positively had to add you to the shout out list, what I should have done, now that I think of it, I should have, for those who have TH-cam channels, I should have mentioned that I would leave a link in down below so other goth can find your TH-cam site. I didn't think about it until after I made the video. Sending my best to you always, and wishing you a very happy New Year!!🎩 🦇
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Thanks very much Professor M. And I am happy you like those clips too. My way to show that goths can be as anyone else, even if others refer us as freaks or weirdos. And I am happy you enjoyed the A&Q video too. Sometimes it's hard give answers in short time, but try my best. Cause I know people usually don't like too long videos. Stay safe and weird love 🦇🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇 and thanks again.
baby bat here (10/10!), I almost laughed out loud at the first question because I used to work at a restaurant right next to a cemetery and I would take my coworkers there for our lunch breaks all the time! it was so beautiful. I love that this is something goths tend to have in common! I felt such a sense of connection when you shared that story. thank you for the video!!
Sentbymars- what a delightful comment. The cemetery right by the work place. Ditto! I worked for Kohl's department stores when I was like 30 years old and right next door was the cemetery. Lunch time every time was there. Welcome to the channel!
I got 10/10 🖤 perfect quiz Professor M. I’m in my early 20’s. Been drawn to goth since I was 8. I still feel like an outcast sometimes in alternative scenes though. There’s a few social hierarchies that I’m not interested in being a part of (popular goths) but at times it can still make me feel a bit isolated. I will always be goth though. 🕸
Femmesword~ 10/10 is an A+ and in your early 20's that is Goth-a-riffic. Feeling like an outcast, is also being special. Being where one belongs, or doesn't feel they belong, is about acceptance, and getting out there and just being you. Isolation can be energy to create your own outcome. And one, only needs to march to the beat of their own drum. I too, had felt the isolation from trying to fit in. However, as we get older, the confidence builds, and the others that once stood in our way, just disappear. Welcome to the channel. 🎩
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Thank you 🖤 I really appreciate that. My mum who’s also a goth loves your channel as well. 🌹 Best wishes to you, your family and for your channel for 2024. 🦇🦇
I clicked on this video almost wondering if I'd feel offended or gatekept. I know that I'm goth, but what were you going to say? And now I have to laugh because not only did I really did nail every one of these questions, but a 9-year-old me would have gotten them all the same, so maybe we're born with it! This was incredibly validating. Maybe my only question mark was with music. I LOVE The Cure, but I don't listen to enough of the other artists to feel fully embraced by the musical subculture aspect. To be honest, I'm obsessed with Blue Öyster Cult, who probably seems "very goth" when you think about their most famous song, subsequently LESS goth when you listen to everything else, and then even MORE goth when you REALLY listen to them and realize that nearly every single song points to a work of Lovecraftian-inspired fiction (Imaginos) that encapsulates it all. But I think I owe my tastes to my mother. She was the reason I grew up with swords on the wall, or knew what the word "androgeny" meant at 5, and she was the one who introduced me to Anne Rice and Stephen King and Poe and Shelley and Lovecraft and why I knew all of the references in Blade Runner and all of the lines in IWTV. She was why I grew up fiercely protective of cats, and we always had at least one black cat, but then I was also a lover of crows and ravens, reptiles, bats, wolves and dragons. She is why my favorite symbol was always the "ankh," and why my childhood home "looked like a museum," as I was once told. And so my music tastes also came from her, and that comprised mostly of film soundtrack (which seamed into my own love of video game soundtracks) as well as celtic music and some classic rock, as mentioned above. Sadly, she passed away three years ago, and I find I just seem to become more and more like her by the day. It sounds like you also have a very lovely gothic mother. Where would this world be without our goth moms? Such powerful and incredible women!
Nabooru~ Wow. Thank you for a beautiful and positive uplifting comment. I loved reading it. You said so much, and well written. The Cure is enough. That is yes, perfect. A few things about myself, I know no gatekeeping, for I am a 80s Goth, everyone who feels they love beauty in darkness welcome. The gatekeeper scene came on in the 90s. I see you also had a really cool mom. Androgyny, yes, I was about 10 when I heard the word, which was because of MTV showing two artists Annie Lennox in Sweet Dreams are Made of This and Boy George. Celtic music, I love. Bladerunner is my #1 all time favorite movie! We do have in our Goth family tree a branch of Goth called 'Viking' its in the 6th branch. There are some amazing VikingGoths. You mentioned losing mom, I lost my dad this year. We never ever get over losing a parent. We think about them daily. And I too and seeing the "dad" side of me come out- even more in the mirror. I have a very Gothic mother- please see my " Growing up Goth: Goth parenting 101" video- I share all about her. Such powerful women. Welcome to the Channel and Happy New Year! 🎩🦇 Goth Parenting Video: th-cam.com/video/kcw_Nzbe3SE/w-d-xo.html
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 I could go down a rabbit hole with just about everything you've mentioned here! Annie Lennox, goodness I am practically obsessed. My mother (who I had previously understood to be heterosexual) once surprised me by telling me she had the biggest crush on Annie. Eurythmix did a lovely, otherworldly soundtrack for 1984 (with John Hurt) which just elevates that film for me so much! Ohh, and Blade Runner, which was also my link to discovering Vangelis and Phillip K Dick! I love "VikingGoths." This describes my girlfriend (who came into my life the day my mother passed) to a T. She is committed to Heathenry and I've been blessed to participate in a few rituals with her, now. She's taught me a lot, including some things to look out for, like signs that someone might be misappropriating Norse beliefs to perpetuate racism. My own lineage has roots in the Celtic and Romani, though I am inexplicably drawn to Egyptian things. This was another childhood fixation for me. My bedroom shelves and walls are so decorated that back when I lived near the Carnegie museum in Pittsburgh, "google photos" often mistook my bedroom for the nearby "Walton Hall" Egyptian exhibit. I might not be as linked as "Omm Sety" (a very cool true story about a woman with a past life in Egypt, if you know it or have the time to look into it,) but I feel deeply connected to the funerary art and it brings me a sense of peace like no other art has. So yeah, your video here caused me quite a bit of wonderful reflection. You talked in the video of troubles through middle school and high school, too. I graduated HS in 2005, and those were *the* worst years for me. Everyone had a nasty story about me (I'll give them points for creativity!) but no one knew me. But in context of everything else here, I find it so amusing, thinking back, to how my standard of dress was almost always a leather vest, a ruffled blouse, and a frock coat. I looked more like Lestat or a pirate than the stereotypical image of a 90's goth. So one day, I instead of that, I woke up early with some extra time and finally went to school wearing black and red and a full face of make-up, and I kid you not, my naive classmates whispered, "she's suddenly goth now?" No wonder I'm still seeking validation for something I always knew in my heart! Some people just don't know how to see with eyes wide open. All of my condolences for the loss of your father. It's incredible how they live on in us, isn't it? We hear about this concept and it has deeply spiritual roots, but it's different when you actually "feel" it and realize it's happening. It makes grief this funny thing -- because in a way, we end up grieving for them -- with them -- as them, and then we also learn what it means to celebrate them and give their spirit renewal in us. It has compelled me all the more to be a better person knowing that just as my mother once physically carried me, I now spiritually carry her. No doubt, she is where I get my verbosity among other things! I will absolutely be checking out your other videos, including that one about goth parents! You know, I've been seeing all of these tropes for "cigarette mom" and "pittsburgh dad" that all very much remind me of my dad, but I've found virtually nothing out there talking about or playfully alluding to the kind of mom I had, so moms like ours must be rare!
Woo hoo! 10/10 for me! 🎉 This was fun! I just stumbled on your channel- you are so authentic and entertaining! Definitely subscribed. By the way, the twins are so cute! They make the video complete in my opinion 😍 See you soon! 🖤❤️
Katelynkolb- Welcome to the channel. 10/10 excellent. I will be making a new video soon. We are in exams week, so once that is over - I will have time to create a new video. Usually I make one a month. And thank you on the twins- I love them! They sit on my bookshelf and look at me all day. 🎩
I got a 10 out of 10, but I have noticed that I was like this more when I was a teen and in my 20s. The culture will always be a part of me though. Be blessed, brothers and sisters in spirit.
I 🖤 this test because I’m 52 years old and aced it for sure 💀 My husband bought me a creepy porcelain doll made by a local artist, my son got me a vintage lighted ceramic haunted house from a woman he was doing insulation work for in her attic as well as a vampire blood candle, and my daughter got me Nghtmare Before Christmas pajamas for Christmas 🦇 Happy Ghoul Year Professor M . 🖤🦇💀
Janiebrossmann ~ And a shout out too. Creepy gifts always makes the best decor, wouldn't you agree. What a good husband and daughter. Happy Ghoul Year!!!🎩
I have been interested in goth since I was about 13 (28 now) But never considered myself goth because I didn't think I fit into the community since I also love more cutesy fashion and pop music But then I got 10/10 and now I'm rethinking things lolol
Mossimoangelov~ Congrats on the 10/10. I would like add there are 46 branches of Goth today. The cutesy fashion is now apart of what could be called Glitter Goth, Pastel or even Bubblegum Goth, in which Goth fuses creepy and cute. So its completely nature for me to say, that's perfect. Pop music: I don't know a single Goth who listens to only Goth music. Pop is what keeps us all going. I would like to suggest, if you'd like to know more about the 46 branches of Goth, I will leave a link here- its one of my first Goth lectures. There was 45 at that time, now 46 Grunge Goth has been added in the last few years. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/wG2wrtDfjME/w-d-xo.html You'd be in branch 1. But check out the whole tree. You may discover new areas. Happy New Year, and welcome to the channel. 🎩🦇
Suredeydo~ Yes, 9/10 is a still Goth. Very Goth. Even 8/10 is acceptable. Your reply could become a lecture for an upcoming video! 🎩 Happy New year and welcome to the channel.
8/10 - I’m not goth (although I always felt a connection to the culture), but it seems like I have the goth genes. Or maybe I am, but I haven’t really committed to it, if that makes sense. I like things that are not goth, too, and I feel like it would be unauthentic to call myself goth while I’m listening to rap music or wearing an outfit with no trace of black. 1: 0.5 - I had Chinese takeout on a cemetery at night, but I’m too scared of people harassing me to do that again. Does it still count? 2: 1 - I’m still looking for new bands/artists. That list will be helpful. 3: 1 - yes! I especially love spiders. 4: 0 - but I hate home decorating 5: 1 - I’m a student of literature, of course I know about Mary Shelley. 6: 1 - even my favourite kids shows were about vampires 7: 1 - I dress black, but I’m still figuring out what feels right, because I don’t like dressing feminine or “sexy” like a lot of goth fashion for women seems to be. 8: 1 - I think so. I like abandoned houses and broken stuff. 9: 0.5 - I’m not sure, so I can’t give myself a full point. I don’t hate mainstream things, but I do like things - objects, thoughts, experiences and people, that are “hard to find”. 10: 1 - I guess that’s self-explanatory
Cosmicbluemama~ you know that's exactly why I made the video. There's that definition of how do I know that I'm a goth? And some type of clarification. And I was thinking to myself instead of just trying to figure it out why not ask a survey or a quiz to see how many points a person could get and then they could figure it out from there. Which is funny, because it took me a while to figure out what questions to put in and what questions to leave out. And lovingly, I thought to myself why not just make it into a lecture as I always do. It is so good to hear from everyone, and I was so hoping you were going to see this one too. Wishing you a very happy New Year, more videos are on the way. And congratulations of your 9 out of 10! 🎩
I'm 46 years old and I've never dared to call myself goth because I thought myself unworthy of such a title. I grew up in a closed minded place and could never really express myself as freely as I would like. Sadly I'm still in this place but I live in movies, books, music and of course my dreams. I'm happy and proud to say that I answered yes to each of your questions. And I now feel worthy of the title goth. Thank you.
Halloweennerd~ This "And I now feel worthy of the title goth. Thank you." You're welcome. I read your other 2 comments this morning. I will book at the books you mentioned. Welcome to the channel.
Greetings Professor M. My score? 9/10 Well, I realised I was a Vampire before realising that I am, in fact, also a Goth. The only "slipup" was that I don't listen to specifically "Goth" music. I am, of course, old enough to remember The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, etc...and Type O Negative had the only Bass Voiced vocalist I've ever encountered in heavy metal. I have been a Classical Guitarist and Basso Profundo singer since my teens though, and also an Electric Rock guitarist too; so my musical tastes were directed at Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Paganini, etc on the one hand, and Malmsteen, Black Sabbath, DIO, Uli Jon Roth etc on the other. Still, it would appear that I am very much, officially, a Goth. On a few asides, I do drink tea. If I am to have it without milk, I favour Earl Grey, Darjeeling, or Lapsang souchong. On the decor front, my Chamber is FULL of all sorts of Dragon, Raven, and similar related items; including a coffin book shelf bought by my nephew. I have black furniture and black lace drapes. I also have a collection of over 200 tarot and divination decks. I very much have a penchant for acquiring the "hard to find"; such as a Grimaud edition of the Tarot de Marseille, the same as featured in Dr. Terror's House of Horrors. A favourite film of mine; as is The Raven. lol I'm feeling right at home already.
There is a lot to reply to here- but a few things. 'The only "slipup" was that I don't listen to specifically "Goth" music.' that, yes, don't worry about. If you know The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Type O, thats a foot in the door.-- TEA- ahhhh yes, welcome. Lapsang souchong I will check out that you mentioned it. And your favorite film is The Raven. Bruce and Brandon Lee's tombstone rubbings are in my office. A lady in Calif sent it to me. 9/10 is qualifiable.
Fun quiz! I scored 10/10. Read all of Poe when I was 10, never looked back, lol. Love tea, Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Lady Grey, Chai. Will have to try Tangerine Zinger, already love Lemon and Raspberry Zinger
I would really like to get into tea more this coming year. The thing is, I live in the south and we love to put sugar in it. Got to learn to drink it without that. 🍵 What's your favorite tea?
Nigredo ~ My favorite kind of tea? Oh goodness, I would have to say everyday it is black Lipton's tea with milk. That is the British style of drinking it. And I've been drinking that for over 40 years. I can drink it without the milk, however, I prefer that style. When we talk about different types of teas other than that I would probably have to say- the stash cinnamon vanilla that I was drinking during the program rates very high, and Celestial Seasonings Tangerine zinger with honey, send me. Really really enjoy that. Sugar, yes I understand that completely-- whether that be in iced tea, or hot. However, I took the sugar out. I used to drink it with sugar, till about the age of about 10 or 12. you make me think to myself why did we stop drinking it without the sugar in our family? I know something sparred it. However now I drink all teas without sugar, but honey is perfectly fine. Wishing you a very happy New Year more videos to come!🎩
Full marks here. I’m looking up where Mary Shelleys mother is buried as we speak :-) Thank you for all your lectures this year and best wishes for 2024.
Thank you thank you thank you sir that means a lot I really appreciate the and information and inspiration you give to people music and fashion first and second 🎉❤🦇
MorenikeSokoya~ And thank you!! How nice to hear from you.- I'm going to be making more content as right now I'm on winter break. And with the time that I have available hopefully I can crank out two videos in January and February. Primarily to do with fashion, however, I still like to do some more Goth talks. And I'm wishing you also a very Happy New Year!🎩
So much fun Professor M :) I got 10 out of 10, so I guess that means I'm Goth :) :) :) I apologize for not answering sooner; but I've been away for social media for quite awhile. I believe I'm finally back and looking forward to seeing you again soon. I hope you had a great spooky Gothmas, and New Year :)
10/10. But I weigh the music most heavily. While I love TON and 69 Eyes, I'd put those in gothic metal rather than gothic rock. I know its nit picky, but the music is how it started and really is the life blood of the sub culture. Anyone can and does wear black and appreciates the aesthetics, but the music is what really sets us apart.
Enso~Yes, I have to agree with you that the music is the foundation. Yes anyone can wear a black T-shirt and black pair of pants and dye their hair black. And anyone can get dressed up in makeup, and put on a costume. However I'd have to say that the music is-- without a doubt-- the most important aspect, I did wanted to put it as the first question, however I thought for a surprise attack, ask how goth a person really is? Over the years I had learned that there was different levels of goth enthusiasm. Where some people are more focused on the music, some on fashion, some are interested in the dark literature parts, some are interested in architecture, and that really blew my mind.-- I wanted to welcome you to the channel. Wishing you a wonderful and happy New Year!🎩
Solitaryindividual- Thank you. If you ever have anything you'd like for me to cover as a subject, let me know. All things considered. Happy New Year, and welcome to the channel! 🎩
Focalor~ Wow. So TH-cam has me on an algorithm. The channel is from what I would understand being suggested as possible search likes. I am very happy to hear you got a 10/10! Welcome to the channel. Happy New Year🎩
Oh and by the way my TH-cam channel is (h adams) there may be videos in the past where I was wearing colorful clothing because I was experimenting alot over the years to figure out how I like to dress. However when I listened to my favourite goth music I would always come back to wearing black as though it was calling me back.
I feel like after this " Was goth then, am goth now and goth shall I be always. 10/10" its like a "YES!" appears in my mind. Finnceap- welcome to the channel!
I got 9/10, don’t listen to much goth music as I mostly listen to hard rock and classical music. Mary Shelly really helped me with the literature part. I love Mary Shelly.
Logenvestfold~ And isn't Mary the Gothiest? Gotta love our Mary Shelly. 9/10 is very Goth. A lot of Goths are really into hard rock and metal and I love classical deeply myself. Happy New Year to you!
If you like hard rock. Check out Sisters of Mercy. Mr Eldritch says he’s a rock band not a goth band but we know different. The 69 Eyes is also a great gothic hard rock metal band
I am fairly goth according to this list but I have never looked like what I think of as "a goth". Darkly inclined is a good phrase. I am interested in subcultures in general and especially how these types of people have manifested their traits differently across time in different settings. Halloween as a big thing is very culturally specific to the modern USA. In Europe when done at all Halloween is casual and cheaply done, nowhere near as big among mainstream culture, so it has a cheap, tacky, cheesy reputation that lots of people, goth or not, are put off by, unless truly calling back to the pagan European origins which are quite horror movie like with animal head costumes and rituals designed to scare evil away by looking more sinister than it is, lol. There must be underlying traits that go beyond the superficial environmentally influenced manifestiations because otherwise we could not call Mary Shelley or Lord Byron goths as they didn't have what is currently called goth music or accessories. Shared music taste is how some goths originally found each other last century and got noticed as a type of person, but that was before the world wide web. Nowadays you can find people who like what you like easily via shared taste in movies, books, digital art, etc., doesn't have to be attending the same music venues or concerts anymore. I wonder what music and literature this type of person will be engaging with and creating in 500 years time, if humans are still around.
@compulsiverambler1352- I read carefully your four part comment and followed your ideas. I can answer your first question “I have never looked like what I think of as "a goth". I would say, Goth is internal. I understand what you may mean when say look like a goth. A Goth needs not wear anything. Check on my latest video on me just talking in my backyard that's pretty casual just me. No make-up, hairstyle, or glitz. But still I carry the realm of Goth within. Mentioning Halloween, I am catching your thinking pattern here- I can see the comparisons. As you know, Halloween came into play in the USA somewhere around 1890s- The American idea since 1950 transformed it into that cheezy-cheap you mentioned, and really separating itself from the pagan European origins. However, if we look at Bryon and Shelley as authors they to me seem completely outside anything to with that superficial environment. Thus Shelly and Byron are goth outstanding in their own fields. Music for them both may have been hinged on the more robust influences like violin and harpsichord. ”Goth“ takes elements from Goth, Gothic and Dark Influences- all three being mixed to some homogenized color. And separating them is important to identity its sources. Lastly, I too have asked that very question “if” humans will be around in 500 years. The year will be 2724. We human would have adapted and changed many times by then. Your writing is good. Welcome to the channel. 🎩
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Thank you. I have been dressing to be invisible my whole life because, among other reasons, I was a maladaptive daydreamer and wanted to forget my self and reality as much as possible in favour of the stories in my mind. I loved music and movies cos it helped me fantasise my stories instead of thinking about my real life. So recently at a rather delayed age, developmentally very behind, I have been experimenting with different clothing styles as part of an attempt to ditch the maladaptive daydreaming and to learn to enjoy being present for reality and my real self. I recently landed on three styles for different situations: indie rock or soft punk fashion for casual public situations, and something like pastel goth for when I want to make a little bit more effort and am going somewhere that people won't be rude or confrontational in the street (I live in a chav town but nearby a free-thinking town). I just made a video about it for other maladaptive daydreamers in my situation. What made it harder was that I like so many different types of music, which does include goth bands but not any dark wave and I thought goths all like dark wave cos the kids at my school did. Never looked into it but it turns out I have met most goths' definitions of goth my whole life, I just didn't get around to figuring out what clothing style felt most like me until now. I might be too eclectic to truly call myself a goth though cos although I do listen to Joy Division, The Cure, The Smiths and others, and now I am exploring more goth bands and like quite a few of them, it is not more than 50% of what I listen to. I probably listen to alternative rock and indie rock slightly more, but also so many more things like Big Beat, EDM and alternative hip hop. My sense of humour and interests are more in line with goth culture though, full blown indie rock scene people don't tend to be as fascinated by philosophical discussions about nihilism the rights and wrongs of laws against cannibalism and incest and dark or taboo subjects in general, they don't all listen to Last Podcast on the Left, that seems to be a lot of goths and metalheads so maybe as you say I am somewhere on the goth spectrum and should get used to the label as a means to meet more like-minded people.
Might be one of the most asked questions but the real question is why does it matter? Enjoy the music, enjoy the people.. accept others and simply enjoy yourself.
8/10 I’m shocked. I’d shared with you that I was Goth curious, but I guess it’s more than that. What I struggle with is WHY? Why do I love obituaries, ghosts stories, Vampire Stories. All the cars I owned in the pat 30 years are dark or black, except one (which was RED) . I consider my self Death Positive. I want to live a long healthy life but I’m kinda happy for those who have finished their run on this plane of existence. So Interesting. 🤔
Vblake~ I will reply on that also, lots there to cover but in a nutshell- I would 'relax' on the struggle completely. Same here, I've asked again and again, "why" I am so interested in 'blank'. And now, instead of asking why, just really enjoy it until the answer comes. For example, I love the Dark Circus, Carnivals at night and sideshows. For years, I wanted to know what was the connection, and why. I have a massive collection of stuffs on this subject. We might have been shown something when we were really young, but don't remember it. A deeper connection to it. It brings on an edge of excitement or comfort. And obituaries, as genealogist, they are a bio of ones life that can only written at-the-end of ones life. What that did, who they were. And being death positive, my mother is also. You may have a feeling of no fears or a peace that comes with passing on. At the end the ' So Interesting. 🤔' Yes, Absolutely.
Occasionally, I'm accused of being some version of goth lol...this was a fun quiz to take! Not goth, but a dark little misfit :) Mary Shelley is also thought to have kept her deceased husband's heart as a memento (not sure if confirmed true, but still interesting).
Hannidream- all are welcome here goth and not goth, or dark little misfits welcome to the channel- and "deceased husband's heart as a memento" this is sooooo interesting, we'll look into it! thank you for sharing!
WernerBergh~ I have a friend from Germany named Werner. Isn't it a wonderful accident to find a channel like Gothically Yours? Welcome to the Channel. 🎩🕷🕸💀
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Thank you so much. Yes it is a wonderful accident and also i do watch lot of goth youtubers a specially Madam Absinth channel . So the alpha rhythm must have swing me in your direction. I'm not from Germany but Werner is a very popular name in Germany .I am surely going to keep watching your channel and thank you so much for your contents .🖤🖤
Madame absinthe! My place has medical skeletal illustrated vintage posters, skulls and skeletons, coffins. I don't celebrate Halloween, I have 2 bone diseases. Fun quiz. I wanted to be morticia, but look more like Wednesday. All black clothes. Edward scissorhands is one of my favorite characters. I love all those bands you mentioned.
Susanwzrkentin~Isn't she great? I love Madame Absinthe TH-cam channel. And your decor sounds awesome! Two bone diseases, interesting, my best friend just went through treatment for it. Thank You for enjoying the quiz! And you score big for Morticia, and knowing all the bands!!! Welcome to the channel, and Happy New Year!🎩🦇
Error4x5 ~ I wanted to share that we have 1) Goths, 2) People who love Goth culture and 3) Not-a-Goths, but the 'Not-a-Goths' sometimes enjoy the subculture also. So even not being a Goth, you are very welcome to check out all my videos. Who knows, you may come to really enjoy the subculture. And my mom, Yes!, She is a really cool mom. Please check out my other video "Growing up Goth" it shares my life growing up and my mom.🎩 And Happy New Year!
9/10, I guess I pass. Now if only there was any resemblance of a goth scene where I live. At least I have the internet. Can't imagine being a lonely goth during the pre -2000's.
Manweru- Is a wonderful children's cartoon that's called The Last Unicorn. I do not know if you were able to see a copy of it but- this unicorn finds out that they are the only unicorn left. And they actually asks " Am I the Last Unicorn?' Which prompts somebody in their mind to feel about their originality. Who they are. Where they are. What they are. And even if you are the only goth in your area- and as you said, "I have TH-cam" you are connect to a community. I would take this even one step further. I would build yourself a goth shrine, to all the things that you love, and somehow, some way, I truly believe this- if you look no further than your own backyard, you will find another one. I guess that is the message from my heart that I wanted to share with you. And I also wanted to say, thank you for taking the quiz, and, a very Happy New Year to you and yours, I hope you enjoyed this last video more to come!🎩
Chad- Hello, thank you. Yes. I have been a big fan of James and Frank from Male Tears. My comment went through the roof, I see so many clicks on that. It was just as I said, I like 19 years old again watching that clip. So I became a fan of them. 10/10! Hey now!- Gothy Gothness there!- Welcome to the Channel!
Jonathan~ I can. It would take awhile, but I could showcase it later. My collection of rings continues to grow. Thank you for enquiring about that! Welcome to the channel.
Ariannakhan~ No quiz needed. What you need to do is explore different areas of the subculture. There are 6 different areas to explore. There is music, fashion, books, movies, architecture and even 40 years of history. I would start looking at music.( I wanted to ask you how old you are?) that would give me a good idea what music wave you may enjoy. Also, do you like more soft music, or music that is more like Rock and Roll? From there I can suggest some music to explore. And secondly, look at fashion. You can explore all the different styles of Goth. There is very mild styles like GeekGoth, MallGoth and even BubblegumGoth or much more wear more black styles like Traditional Goth. I would suggest those two places to start- music and fashion. If you find something online you like.
I read you message I understand I kinda into etheral soft music and I'm 18 years old still I very much into the music fashion I working the alternative style but I will seek you help again thank you for hearing me out it means a lot🥺😌🦇🌹
@@ariannakhan4251 At 18, you are a baby bat. 🦇And for ethereal bands, I would suggest one of my favorite- 'Cocteau Twins' : Heaven or Las Vegas - th-cam.com/video/6KnYw4EwYGc/w-d-xo.html and also check out the Frozen Autumn : Tomorrow's Life- th-cam.com/video/-LiBopuLwlg/w-d-xo.html. Try these two bands. I read that someone mentioned a comment on 'conformist' (?) I had to look up that term. I am not sure what the person was saying. When I was in college at 19, is when I started to discover and learn about alternative music on a whole new level. I am a late bloomer, very successful one too. - Take your time. You have a lot of it. 🎩🦇
I got 10 my nick name is Vlad. I drink Earl grey or Constant Comment teas. My birthday is October 29 . I love wolves and bats snakes and sharks.. I make fake taxidermy Dragon heads and all skulls and dragons and gargoyles figures or statues.
Vlad, there's a nice vampire name. Earl Gray always one of my second favorites. I see you were very close to Halloween for a birthday. I was going to ask you after reading your list are you a prop maker, for if you're making gargoyles and figures of statues you'd probably had enjoyed, the interior of the Haunted Mansion say like a Disneyland or Disney World. I do a lot of prop making myself. Oh and congratulations on the 10 out of 10- welcome to the channel.🎩
Hello User-od4ry- Now I know there is a real person behind that ID- so with a 9/10 you may wish to receive an amazing Goth name- this link will help you find your inner-dark-Goth-name and you can change User-od4ry to something worthy of the 9/10 -- here: th-cam.com/video/YrMeN0E4UBc/w-d-xo.html and welcome to the channel!!! 🎩
Hi ChristianHart- I teach two subjects. First is ESL which is English As a Second Language. And second subject is Design. I have two degrees, each one different. Good question you asked!
Roxytocin ~ Since you took the quiz (and as professors) we often give extra points for effort, so today we can round the 9.5 to a 10. Happy New Year!! 🎩
@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Thanks, Professor! I only gave myself half a point on the Halloween question, because it is my favorite holiday, but I don't obsess about it year-round. Lol. Happy New Year to you as well!! 🖤
@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Thanks, Professor M... Truly. I hope it will be, I have a lot to do:) My true self has only just been discovered this year. It took an embarrassing 24 years for me to finally accept and realize what I had been burying away all this time... but no longer. That all changes in 2024, so it will be quite the year for me. Thank you again for all of your videos and indispensable insight on this impossibly blissful culture
Carsonfeddersen ~ Just a moment ago I saw that you posted the comment. And right now I'm online. I'm enjoying seeing people's responses this morning . And congratulations on the 10/10. I also wanted to share, that I focused in on the last part of your name 'sen' and I believe that the origin of your family could be either from Holland, or parts of Germany? I'm deeply into genealogy. I went to school with a friend who had that suffix added to his name Sorensen- and he share with me that his great-grandparents were from Holland. If you watch other videos that I have posted I have shared about, that my family is from the lower region of Poland. (Galicia). I wanted to welcome you to the channel, and wishing you a happy New Year!🎩
Hello Professor M 🎩 . I took your fun goth test and scored mostly a 10! I'm just not into Taxidermy very much and I don't care for Love Craft. He was a racist. Everything else check. I understand that it takes time to make videos. Looking forward to the next one. Love your makeup videos. You should do at least one of those a year. Have a good day friend. 👍
Welp, I got 9/10 with 2 halves: I'm not a fan of the commercialised side of Halloween, and my Lefty Anarcho Communism leaning butt is probably too aggressive for Goth Mindset.
Kaworunagisa ~ I was going to add, I had heard a report on TH-cam of the commercialization of Halloween has gotten out of control. From once a simple festival turned into a multimillion dollar money making, candy hoarding, holiday. But not just that, the millions of tons of plastic that are created and wasted in what environmentalists say its a 'Hallow-mess'. It turns out the costumes not sold are landfilled. Its being pushed a bit too early for my tastes as early as July in stores. When I was back home in last July, at a dollar store they had a whole isle of Halloween stuffs.
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Exactly. Even in Central Asia where I live, where Halloween is a pretty recent cultural import (or maybe because of that as it doesn't have any cultural roots in local society), even just decorations are a problem. Cafes, restaurants, clubs, etc. hang a crapload of plastic, both inside and in the surrounding area, and when the holiday is over, they either throw all of it out (because reusing it is apparently beneath them, unlike New Year decorations), or just leave trash on the trees. And the general message is just "buy, buy, buy". Buy this Halloween themed candy, order this Hallowen themed cocktail, etc.
I'm confused because what you said about the points at the start of the video is different than what you said about the points at the end of the video. I got 6/10. I knew that I was dark something but not goth even though I do like the music and am intrigued by the fashion. For the first time ever, this summer, I got a bit naughty in a graveyard on a date with my boyfriend at the time (who is goth). If the dead only knew. In memory of the dearly departed, which is just what I said as we left the grave yard. I have a fascination with dead bodies and the various stages of decomposition that they go through. I liked grave yards since I was a child.
Saynotohookups~ Yes, I did catch that later I will clarify : 8/10 is the Goth range- however, I'm going to change your score a bit. I'm going to put you 8/10, which qualifies you as Goth. As a professor, we always give extra points for effort. Your explanation at the bottom of your reply was very intriguing, and that is only something a real goth would say. "The various stages of decomposition" and " Doing things in a graveyard with your boyfriend". You might even be 9/10. I am welcoming you to the channel, good to hear from you. And very Happy New Year.🎩
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Wow, thank you very much for responding and clarifying that. I'm actually goth how about that? Thank you for giving me the extra points. Thank you for welcoming me to your channel and happy new year!
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Looking back on this again. My Mom and I were talking today I brought up the subject of goth. She remembered how I loved black as a teenager (one of my favorite colours) and how I had a morbid curiosity with death when I was a child. She remembered me being like that and she told me that she would think, "What's wrong with her?" She also knew about my fascination with graveyards, that every time we passed one that I had to look at it and I would keep looking at it until we were passed by. I told her that it would not bother me to be in a graveyard at night time. I liked exploring them during the day when I was much younger. I haven't done that in a long time but I must walk through Mount Pleasant Cemetary this summer. I hear that it's an interesting grave yard with wildlife, unusual trees and famous people who made their mark in Toronto are buried there. Btw this cemetery held a classical music concert. If I find the video I will link it here.
@@saynotohookups This reply made me smile. I read it twice. Here's why- " She also knew about my fascination with graveyards, that every time we passed one that I had to look at it and I would keep looking at it until we were passed by"-- my reply DITTO. So did I- so do I even now!-- I have heard of Mt. Pleasant Cem. I believe Madame Absinthe did a birthday video there.
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 I'm glad that my comment made you smile. I checked out Madame Absinthe's channel with the music video that she took part in, it's like Peter Steele from Type O Negative came back to give us more music. I saw that she is from Canada and I will have to check out more of her videos. I found another goth lady's channel she had some video about the goth scene in Whitby. At first I thought that she meant Whitby, Ontario but I think it's Whitby in England. Even Toronto doesn't seem to have much of a goth scene.
It's NOT being covered in doodle tattoos and having a septum piercing. As a goth girl expert since 2001, I can assure you goth girls did NOT have septum piercings then. I really wish they would stop doing this. it looks horrible. Also, Rocky Horror picture show is not "dark", it's gay. Gay stuff isn't necessarily dark, sorry.
Frydremwingz~ Your TH-cam ID is interesting. Septum piercings. What an interesting subject, I may be could even do a video that talks about tattoos and piercings! And for RHPS, yes, I agree its not, goth-dark, it was added to the movie list because of the castle, interior and several cross-over layers and was actually added to a dark movie list that a read years ago. I just added it for interest. Welcome to the channel.
I'm in my mid-50's & been involved in the Goth subculture since the 80's & found your little test laughably easy, simplistic & surface-level. Hate to break it to you, but you aren't the 1st Goth to break the subculture into categories. We goths have been doing that since the beginning, mostly for laughs. You're what, in your late 30's, early 40's? You think rather highly of yourself, don't you? Still, you're having fun, & that's all that really matters. Keep on flying, little bat, & have a great time doing it!🖤
Drachenfrau~ I'm 52. I look young. Thank you! I was born in 72' and like yourself been in subculture since the 80s. Do I think highly of myself, well, I hope everyone does, don't you? We all should. I was honored you saw me as a 30s/40s. Wow. (My father was in his 80s and looked late 60s when he passed away. He didn't have grey hair till he was 78!) good DNA?~ Was just wondering when you watched the video, since we are both 80s Gen-Xers was there something more you would of added or created differently? Happy New Year to you and yours. 🎩🦇
i am a baby bat i started my goth journey 2 months ago i got 8/10 i didn't expect myselfto get that much ... professor M THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR THESE VEDIOS KEEP IT UP 🖤🖤🖤🖤
9/10 for me!
AnnoDomini- " thank you for being a dapper and charming mentor of the macabre!" You are welcome! And welcome to the channel!
I scored 9/10, Im a 43 year old baby bat as when i was younger, wanting to be goth was not accepted at home. I have hidden my true self for around 30 years. I now feel free to express myself my way and I am so much happier for it.
Satalitegirl-" I have hidden my true self for around 30 years" Welcome home, welcome back- Goth is calling us home. Welcome to the channel!
Map~ Your comment is getting a lot of likes! I think your on to something good here "closet goth" I may do a video on this! 🦇
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 Thank you. I've also been giving it a lot of thought.
I take the tea is ... black tea! 😁
1) I wished I could.
8) European Gothic Cathedrals have been enchanting me since I was a child! I visited the Glass Chapel in Arkansas, set in a wood, and I loved it!
All right, I already qualify as a full-blown Goth.
But let's go ahead.
(Yes, I do have tea. Usually black tea in the morning and green tea in the evening)
9) "Do you have a preference for the alternative world?" This is a difficult one.
Always great to hear from you.🎩
Confirmed! I am a 50 year old elder goth! Thank you for giving me the confirmation. 🖤
Same here. I'm 50 and Professor M confirmed for me that I am goth.
Yes!! 10/10 Points! Thank you for this very entertaining video. I love the details, you installed in the video. Best wishes for the year 2024, Professor M.
A very Happy New Year Opus Corvi! 🎩
i'm very pleased to have gotten 10/10, having considered myself a goth for almost 5 years now its about time i took a quiz. all goths must at some point in their journey.
Epicslay~ 10/10 excellent. The 5 years are confirmed. Welcome to the channel and Happy New Year🎩
Elder Goth here at 56 yo. I scored 10/10! I wore black and was married on Halloween. Now, I'm a tragic Goth widow.
Wonderful comment, Thank You, and welcome to the channel 🎩 🕷 🕸
The first video I’ve seen since I’ve subscribed as it’s released! I love your content and your affinity for the macabre- got a 10/10 or a 9.5 considering I’m new-ish to the Goth music genre, although I do enjoy it!~
Keep the content coming, you are a delight to watch!~ 🖤⚡️✨
TheVintageVamp ~ what a cool ID name you have. Congratulations on your 10/10, and even a 9.5 is still considered an A+. If you are new to The Goth music genre, that's perfectly fine you'll have 40 years worth of History to discover. And I'm very glad that you enjoyed the content. Welcome to the channel.🎩
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 My alias under this username is Dr. Memento, which already counts as a Goth name from what your video suggests, hehe! I’m excited to explore and see what the genre has to offer! ^^
Thank you professor your a gothic saint I glad to have found and talk to you🌹🦇🕸️♥️
I a gothic type of person but the goth subculture inspire me and I still learning about it the videos are a inspiration 🎉❤

Uniquelyme~ Absolutely. I have had a few people on Instagram tell me they saw the videos and one person said very similar words! And, he said " Your laughter is infectious, I love when you do the Mwhahahahahahaha" - It comes so natural. 🎩 🦇
I am totally not a Goth but I score quite high, i got 11. I have tons of spider webs.

Pst...
Cause I know people usually don't like too long videos.

baby bat here (10/10!), I almost laughed out loud at the first question because I used to work at a restaurant right next to a cemetery and I would take my coworkers there for our lunch breaks all the time! it was so beautiful.
@@femmesword4015 Oh My Goth!! Hello Mom of Femmesword! Happy New Years to you both!
Theultrawarrior- 10/10 good, and yes agreed the culture always stays with us.
I 🖤 this test because I’m 52 years old and aced it for sure 💀 My husband bought me a creepy porcelain doll made by a local artist, my son got me a vintage lighted ceramic haunted house from a woman he was doing insulation work for in her attic as well as a vampire blood candle, and my daughter got me Nghtmare Before Christmas pajamas for Christmas 🦇
Happy Ghoul Year Professor M . 🖤🦇💀
Janiebrossmann ~ And a shout out too. Creepy gifts always makes the best decor, wouldn't you agree. What a good husband and daughter. Happy Ghoul Year!!!🎩
I have been interested in goth since I was about 13 (28 now)
But never considered myself goth because I didn't think I fit into the community since I also love more cutesy fashion and pop music
But then I got 10/10 and now I'm rethinking things lolol
I thought I was tracking for a 10 out of 10 until you ruled out the violence and accepting everyone. It's a 9 for me.
Salud! Great channel
4: 0 - but I hate home decorating
5: 1 - I’m a student of literature, of course I know about Mary Shelley.
6: 1 - even my favourite kids shows were about vampires
7: 1 - I dress black, but I’m still figuring out what feels right, because I don’t like dressing feminine or “sexy” like a lot of goth fashion for women seems to be.
You get an A+ from the professor your sharing was well received! "3: 1 - yes! I especially love spiders" 🕷🕸
Still puzzled why it's so difficult to figure out if you're goth or not? But you made it lots of fun Professor M. 9/10. Happy New Year😝☠️🖤
Cosmicbluemama~ you know that's exactly why I made the video.

10/10 Congrats!-- and please try Tangerine Zinger, its my all time favorite!!

Your channel came up in my feed and I scored a 10/10 on the quiz! :D
Focalor~ Wow. So TH-cam has me on an algorithm. The channel is from what I would understand being suggested as possible search likes. I am very happy to hear you got a 10/10! Welcome to the channel. Happy New Year🎩
I got 9/10 and I'm a 22 year old goth it took me years until I was about 19 to figure out that I was goth
Oh and by the way my TH-cam channel is (h adams) there may be videos in the past where I was wearing colorful clothing because I was experimenting alot over the years to figure out how I like to dress. However when I listened to my favourite goth music I would always come back to wearing black as though it was calling me back.
Hadams~ Welcome to the channel 🎩
Thank you@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222
Was goth then, am goth now and goth shall I be always. 10/10
@@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 thanks! Happy New Year to you as well!
If you like hard rock. Check out Sisters of Mercy. Mr Eldritch says he’s a rock band not a goth band but we know different. The 69 Eyes is also a great gothic hard rock metal band
@@rscuris I’ll have to check them out, thanks!

Loved the Goth Quiz 🥰
10 of 10. Thank you 😀
DavidZeman~ You passed with an A+. Congratulations and welcome to the channel, Professor M.
Might be one of the most asked questions but the real question is why does it matter? Enjoy the music, enjoy the people.. accept others and simply enjoy yourself.
8/10
I’m shocked.
Not goth, but a dark little misfit :)
Mary Shelley is also thought to have kept her deceased husband's heart as a memento (not sure if confirmed true, but still interesting).
Hannidream- all are welcome here goth and not goth, or dark little misfits welcome to the channel- and "deceased husband's heart as a memento" this is sooooo interesting, we'll look into it! thank you for sharing!

Can you do a video of your jewelry collection?
Jonathan~ I can. It would take awhile, but I could showcase it later. My collection of rings continues to grow. Thank you for enquiring about that! Welcome to the channel.
@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 thank you! I love your videos and personality. I appreciate what you do.
Could just tell what quiz I have to do so I can catch up a bit

I'm deeply into genealogy. I went to school with a friend who had that suffix added to his name Sorensen- and he share with me that his great-grandparents were from Holland.
That part " make 1 a year" for makeup- is that special 4% I needed to hear! Thank you!!
