Happy Goth Day Professor M and all the Children of the Night. I too am very much a night owl from the time I was born. My mother often told me about when I was just a few days old that I would sleep peacefully during the day and when the lights were turned off for the night I would wake up and want to kick and play do all those cute things that babies do. So to answer another age old question of whether goths are born or become goth in later years, I was born a goth. I was excited when you mentioned Mary Shelley and her Frankenstein story. As a highschool senior my senior paper was about her life, novel and the first movie adaptation. And now here I am as an Elder goth. And I agree with you Professor, goth will indeed live forever.

This reminds me of those videos of cosplayers being interviewed about what their dayjobs are. You’ll get a lady in a sexy Spider-Man outfit who says “I’m an aerospace engineer” and a dude in a suit of armor like “I’m an accountant” it’s wonderful.

Ah you mentioned me! Thank you so much and you're welcome! I leaned forward with interest and was nodding when you spoke about night time and being a night owl. I am a night owl but lately I have been getting very tired to the point of not being able to keep my eyes open so I have been going to bed earlier. Except for last night I couldn't get to sleep until 7:30am. Had I known about goth clubs back in the early nineties I would have checked it out. I liked going out to dance at the night clubs after work over in Niagara Falls, New York, I also went to clubs in Buffalo in the late nineties. I also went to clubs in the Niagara Region on the Canadian side. As for listening to Male Tears I have been doing that on repeat for many days.
Saynotohookups- you are very welcome. I thank you so much for your comments they mean something to me because information is very valuable. And I value what other people have to say. As I've gotten older, the whole I can't stay up all night like I did when I was in my twenties is now taking place. We all know the age catches up with us at a similar time. But I am still a night owl I absolutely love evening and night time more than daytime. I have never enjoyed summer beating sunshine, and getting a sunburn. You mentioned about Niagara Falls one of my favorite places in the world. You can be on the Canadian side and stand on the very edge where the water goes over the falls and I can keep seeing myself standing there. Not on the American side but the Canadian side. I've had a fascination with Niagara Falls since I was a little boy. I even collected anything that was Niagara Falls related and have probably about a hundred postcards dating from the 1800s all the way up until the modern 1990s. That also includes a lot of Niagara Falls souvenirs and stuff. I should actually talk about that in one of my programs.. Get to know Professor M. As for Male Tears, it looks like Male Tears actually was watching this program before I got a good review from the lead singer there. several of their songs play in my mind all the time. Hit Me has to be my favorite. But several other ones stand out. It's very good to hear from you, and I will try to get another video out as soon as possible. Luckily I got two out this month.🎩

I got to be on the American side too. So the lead singer of Male Tears saw this...Next thing we know we might be seeing you in a music video after all. I guess we will have to wait and see. I like the beauty of night time. Daytime is beautiful too and I really should get outside and enjoy it more. I would lay outside a lot when I was a child to tan now I burn before I tan. I learned that nude sunbathing is very beneficial and wouldn't you know it there's a clothing optional beach on the Island from the waterfront. Perfect for all over tanning. You sound like my poor Mom when she goes out in the sun. She has to wear sunscreen.

Other recommendations: Bigelow's Cinnamon Stick. This is the spicy side of cinnamon.
Celestial Seasonings' Sweet Harvest Pumpkin, Fireside Vanilla Spice, and Cinnamon Apple Spice.
I don't know if you like chai teas, but Twinings has a lovely Pumpkin Spice Chai. With a shot of cream and some honey, I'd rather drink this tea than eat a dessert.
I know all of those are Fall blends, but Fall and tea? I can't imagine two things that go together more.

SirGothington- What a sublime idea. The questions are outrageous what folks ask- and answering them can be the challenge and a lecture combined. My students the uni ask wild questions and I answer them, always coming to the same conclusion I learn more then they do about the question asked. - And very intense color to find and enjoy- purple. Victorian DEEP purple-- I can see you in purple as well--Mine waist coat was from Historical Emporium if I am correct. And a special "unhappy world goth" day to you sir as well 🎩

I was going to chime in about the intriguing question about Goths, Night time, darkness and why we like it/prefer it as opposed to say, the day time.
I can only speak for myself about it. The night time is quiter, rather mostly. It's not as hectic nor "rat race" in constant motion like it seems to be at all hours of the day. I prefer dimly lit rooms to be honest due to my migraines which are common. Light sensitivity is a trigger for me. And I'm still searching for the right pair of really dark lense sunglasses to no avail. The dollar store type do help a little bit.
The darkness (if the question referred to dark or light), I prefer darkness in my bedroom since I work nights and have for years. Adjusting to the day is difficult, but I do it for errands since most stores close early. I do miss the convenience and ease of the 24 hours/ 7 days a week stores of the past.
I feel more alert at night since my biorhythms have always been in tune with that particular time. As a Goth, I like the night for the solitude, it's a great time for contemplation, reflection, and just getting out and enjoying the moonlight for me anyway. The darkness (I refer to the night time) is like a balm on my mind. The daytime is much too chaos for me. The question you answered about the darkness and night time and Goths is accurate. 😊

Happy World Goth Day 😊. I think Goths are also associated with devil worship, witch craft and murder unfortunately. You see it on tv, and I’ve personally experienced people thinking I was a witch. For some reason many people also think Goth women like being abused, and are wild in bed. It’s very sad that these things have been attached to us 😢. However, the only way to dispel these inaccuracies is to continue to address the truth. I also think Bram Stokers Draculaura is an influential Gothic book. As to the woman who sleeps in a coffin, are you talking about Madi Danger? She has a large red lined coffin. If it’s not her, I’m not sure who it is. When I mentioned once, that I was going to get "Gothed Up" for an art gallery show to another man I had met the look of sheer panic was on his face. @@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222Well, some of us ARE witches, but some are Christian, Buddhists, etc. If you are in a coven and are the only goth, nine times out of ten people will ask you are witch questions even though you aren’t the HP. :) And some of us…actually enjoy wild sex! It’s a stereotype for reasons. :) But being abused? NEVER!

I remember a mental health ad with a goth in a Bauhaus shirt like that was enough to be committed. And one of my goth girl friend had her parents commit her…so it isn’t just TV…it was and is some places…real life.

You might also try finding reprinted copies of the Penny Dreadful series, Varney the Vampire. I'm barely through the first chapter and it's quite interesting thus far. 😊

I was just wondering if I had forgotten some of the ones I mentioned. Right now I’m trying to find a group I liked that I thought was French. I can’t find them, but I know I will recognize the name if I see it.

Callsignsoviet~ Tis' OK, and reason for we have to look forward to WGD 2025 together! And I must say, I too, after learning there was a day for us, had also learned of it too late. I had learned in the fall of 2022, there was such a day. When I started this channel during the Cov19 episode, I made sure I marked my calendar for May 22nd the next year. And thus, created one of two WGD videos for this channel. You are among a family of Goth, and next year we will celebrate even more- together.
