She probably also represents what remains of Zaraki's humanity. Sure her at times dangerous behavior and whims are unsettling but as a whole she's his rock. Love how she supports Zaraki even when he goes rogue for a good fight or to do things his own way.
My headcanon is that Yachiru is the spirit of Nozorashi, and her shikai is the remainder of the previous shinigamis soul and is reminiscent of/what their shikai release was.

In the CFYOW light novels, they bring up the concept of Lineage Zanpakuto. Specifically with Nanao, it's a zanpakuto that can be passed on rather than just disappearing along with their users.
Considering what we know, it's possible that these lineage zanpakuto were used by people with a high status/reputation, so it could be deduced that Nozarashi was probably stolen by its second wielder for its value before being killed by other district members, most likely for the same reason. That's when we find Kenpachi, the third wielder, taking it off of the dead corpse. It would explain why there's 2 spirits behind Yachiru as she's using Sanpo Kenchu, which in turn could've been what Nozarashi was in the first place.
With that in mind, and with so much irony, Tousen's sword would be a lineage zanpakuto as well, considering that he got it from his dead friend after she was murdered by her husband, Tokinada Tsunayashiro, who we find out is head of one of the 4 Great Noble Houses . . .

I like to think that Kenpachi and yachiru’s connection is like Stark and Lilynette’s seeing as that relationship is the closest thing to them we got before the events of the last arc.
Honestly I like to think the same thing as well. There seems to be a weird phenomenon for for extremely powerful individuals whose power is so great they can literally manifest it as a entirely separate individual. We've seen it with Stark, we're possibly seeing it with kenpachi and probably the most extreme example is the freaking Soul King himself seeing how he has his left and right arm as well as his own freaking heart up and running about and since we see he doesn't have any legs chances are they're probably up and around somewhere too.
Kind of makes me wish Ichigo sort of developed this phenomenon as well where his power literally manifested has a separate individual capable of interacting and speaking with others.

It would've been amazing if Kenpachi and Yachiru fought Starrk and Lilynette, instead of the Vizards and Shunsui. It could've been good character development for Kenny too.
@@transhumanhivemind3048 Actually if you think about it the reverse happened with Ichigo. The separate entity of the hollow "White" fused itself with his shinigami powers inherited from Isshin thus becoming is Zanpaktou spirit. White attacked Masaki (who was a quincy) and part of him was left in her which transferred to Ichigo when he was born.
I wonder what Nimaiya Oetsu would've said had he met Ken and Yachiru. That meeting would've been hilarious.

Nimaiya would be utterly exasperated at how clueless Kenpachi is, being so damn close to having a perfect relationship with his Zanpakuto, and yet failing at the last step.

That Yachiru was a manifested Zanpakuto spirit? Or did someone find out and decide to _never_ talk about it to anyone?

The reveal from 668 that Yachiru is actually Kenpachi's sword spirit Nozarashi has been foreshadowed since we'd first met Knepachi. During his flashback of meeting Yachiru, he asks who she is, and she basically points to his sword. She's also the only individual who's not affected by his spiritual pressure either. Coyote Starrk himself was foreshadowing as well. Both of them were afraid of being alone so they'd either shackled their true power with limiters, and thus both had their Zanpakuto's materialize in the real world and could interact with their environments.
There's another early example of foreshadowing immediately after losing his fight with Ichigo. When he asks his zanpakutou if it would share it's name with him, Yachiru's shown to become visibly saddened. Because she wants to tell him her name, but he still can't hear it.
Furthermore, Kenpachi has no sense of direction and can't sense reiatsu. He relies completely on Yachiru to tell him where to go to find strong opponents. Well OF COURSE he does; she's his zanpakutou, and thus like all zanpakutou, she's a Trickster Mentor. Kenpachi loves to feel like he's relying on his own strength in a fight, so the only way to get him to cooperate with her was by being his Sensor Character. This is also why she thanks Ichigo for giving Kenpachi a good fight; his stubborn ass is still holding back to keep from killing strong opponents, so she leads him to progressively stronger and stronger people to break his own mental limits.
So far, it has been shown that the "proper" way of achieving Bankai is for the user to fight and defeat their Zanpakuto Spirit in battle and basically beat the spirit into submission. In Kenpachi's case, Yachiru allowed him to go Bankai on his own. In other words, Zaraki, the epitome of brute force and the guy who scoffed the most at forming a bond with his Zanpakuto spirit, did the complete opposite. He is actually the one who has formed the closest bond with his spirit (and probably the only one who truly treats his Zanpakuto spirit as an equal), and the only one who has achieved Bankai through kindness and a rapport with his spirit. Yachiru saying "what everyone's been calling Bankai" implies that maybe that Zaraki is going to get a far superior version of Bankai to everyone else because of the incredibly unique way he unlocked his.
One thing that is brilliant regardless is his Bankai. His own body can't handle its power after a while. Logically, training would extend this. His bankai could then go even further before his body breaks down. Kenpachi wants a fight that will last. His Bankai gives him exactly what he wants with an ability that can never truly be mastered.

Furtheremore, a lot of people think that White Zangetsu/Zangetsu/Hollow Ichigo, can control Ichigo because of him being made out of a hollow, but remember, the reason to why that Hollow is Ichigo's Zanpakutou, it's because he was made of the same way that Oetsu makes the Asauchi's. Meaning that *Zangetsu is the same as any other Zanpakutou,* the only thing that makes him especial it's that he has a hollow nature and because of that Hollow powers.
This is even more reinforce not only by this happening with Kenpachi, but also when Katen ask Shunsui to let her take over and get thenselves away from danger and escape from the battle at all. Having in mind that Shunsui properly achive Bankai, and Ichigo's Bankai training wasn't achive with the real Zangetsu(At the time, as of the end of the series is one of the 2 Zangetsu, it being a Dual Zanpakutou), it's very possible that the Zanpakutou lose the ability to take control of the body of their user after they achive Bankai properly, after all, like the title of the chapter when Ichigo accepts Zangetsu as a whole is call "The blade is me".

In the earliewr parts of bleach yoruichi explained bankai this way: Shikai is when a shinigami taps into the realm of the sword to draw power from it. Bankai is when the sword is drawn to our realm.
Thats probably why the quincy could steal bankai and how mayuri is able to manipulate them, heck maybe this is why they stay broken at all, they become physical.
The way you explain the first part sounds like how muramasa in the zanpakuto filler arc brings the zanpakuto to manifest against the soul reapers
I mean that was similar as well in how they could still use Shikai(though it took them a bit) but not Bankai, Ichigo became able to use Bankai thanks to his Hollow(Major Hint number 2 after "I am Zangutsu")

I allways thought Kenpachi and Yachiru were similar to Stark and Lilynette because it seamed to me that Yachiru popped into existance when Kenpachi took that zanpakuto from the dead shinigami.
Yachiru met Kenpachi when Kenpachi is already an adult. Kenpachi got the zanpakuto when he is still a kid, cuz thats when he fought Unohana.

I feel that yachiru is the personification of the barriers zaraki mentally put on himself. Once he used shika, her physicality disappears because the barriers aren't there anymore. But her conciousness now is all that's left.
To add, she always seems concerned for Zaraki whenever he is battling or after a battle when he actually has the drive to get stronger.

Hone hone is kenpachi's reisatsu that resides in his sword, lumpy is the reisatsu from the original owner of his sword (the corpse kenpachi got the sword from), yachiru is the combination of both their reisatsu that makes up nozerashi. That's my theory anyway.
I love Yachiru. Every scene she’s in with Kenpachi is adorable. And I love that scene in the Soul Society arc like you were talking about when the messenger from the stealth Corp was talking to her and then her pink aura reiatsu just immediately erupted and said to “Shut up! Go away Kenny’s in the middle of battle right now leave!” My reaction to that scene really made my eyes widened and I’m like “Dude you better leave, because she’ll fuck you up without warning, even if she’s a kid.”
About Gremmy, it's heavily implied in Can't Fear Your Own World that he, like Gerard and Pernida, is a part of the Soul King, being obviously the Brain of the Soul King

I feel like Yachiru's Zanpaktou "Spirits" represent Kenpachi's Bankai. They are two entities working together. But since Kenpachi was unable to communicate with Yachiru through his Zanpaktou, this aspect stayed with her. They are part of her, and of Zaraki, and that's why she is able to use them like that.

What if Kenpachi fully synchros with Yachiru and suddenly he has two bloodthirsty blade monsters running around that hit as hard as Nozarashi or harder
I'm thinking that at some point Kenpachi will re-learn how to physically manifest Nozarashi (Yachiru) so that she can fight like she used to as a Lieutenant. Literally, I think he'll gain the ability to summon his combat loli at will, and the confusion on his opponent's face will be magnificent until it is replaced by the sheer terror at what's about to happen to them.

When she calls out the name 'Sanpo Kenjou' was only to make the 'kids', as she called them, visible to Gwanael and by proxy visible to Isane as well. But before that point she was using the triple slash ability without calling a name.

This literally just proves that Zaraki, by far, HAS to be the most powerful character in the story. No one else's power is so untouchable while having absolutely no explanation. It's too many directions to run in for his true full power to be beaten if it's ever revealed. A Shinigami (who was stronger than the ORIGINAL Kenpachi AS A CHILD) puts mental blocks on himself to lower his power and has a Zanapkuto spirit that manifests in reality and is a LIEUTENANT in the ELEVENTH DIVISION that even has A SHIKAI!!!
Zaraki has ONE DAY of kendo training. Constantly drains his reishi with an eyepatch SPECIFICALLY designed for him by the 12 Division. Has NO KIDO TRAINING, NO HAKUDO TRAINING, NO SHUNPO TRAINING and STILL could catch Byakuya and Soifon from pure muscle reaction. Literally disregards high rank ESPADA with such intensity he doesn't even realize he's bleeding out and just uses TWO HANDS with an UNRELEASED asuachi that's MISSING it's spirit and WINS FROM ONE HIT. IMAGINE if he NEVER put a block on his power after all of this time. The Soul Society would've probably did everything in their power to capture him.

OH AND LETS NOT FORGET! Yachiru is the President of the S.W.A, only second in command to UNOHANA who is a CAPTAIN and THE ORIGINAL KENPACHI. And, is a superior to NANAO who is the LIEUTENANT the CURRENT CAPTAIN COMMANDER. As LIEUTENANT of the 11TH DIVISION she was a superior to RENJI, IKKAKU (WHOM FEARS HER!), IBA, YUMICHIKA. Completely TANKED MAYURI'S ASHISOGI JIZO POISON which EVEN HE was shocked she could do. She even defeated a Sternritter with ONLY A SHIKAI!!!

I always thought it was a really interesting bit of foreshadowing that, WELL BEFORE the TYBW arc had gotten to that point, the Zanpakuto Manifestation filler arc had Yachiru missing.

We have seen another character with a similar scenario: Coyote Starrk and Lilynette Gingerbuck. I assumed it was similar for Kenpachi and Yachiru, but Kenpachi did it unintentionally when he started putting on his limiters. The power had to go somewhere.
Edit: also, just realized their last names are Gingerbuck and Grass Deer, that can't be a coincidence.
Tekking’s nozarashi isn’t breaking, he is just conflicting with the riatzu of nozarashi, causing it to decay slowly

Kenpachi stepping up his game by sword fighting with both hands is still one of my favorite hilariously awesome moments in bleach. I was sitting there reading the chapter thinking. “So his way of stepping up his fight against a strong enemy is simply fighting with two hands...What is this guy?!”

I'd love to know what kind of human made Zaraki when they died, cause you can get humans with alot of spiritual pressure but he seems more like what happens if you took that raw energy and gave it sentience
We might never know, but your last bit might actually be more correct than you thought...things got weirder than before in the series, and Ichigo is living proof of how the known qualities of things can be exceeded or not apply in some respects.
Well spirits in the soul society seem to be able to reproduce independently, as most of the soul reapers we see seem to have been born in and grown up in the soul society, not to mention families and family trees existing, so it's very very likely that he was never a human

Yachiru to me seems a lot like Starrk's smol ally friend (who I can't recall the name of). Like a sentient manifestation of someone's spirit energy.

Starrk kept killing everyone else due to the density of his spirit energy. So he was very lonely. And then his spirit energy manifested into an "ally" that both solved the problem of killing other Hollows and gave him a friend.
Kenny has always had "too much" spirit energy, which is why he sealed it behind an eyepatch. And Kenpachi struggled with loneliness too.
To me it's very similar.
Yachiru kinda seems like that but stark and lillinitte are the same person split from the same body.
@@dethklok2150 read the final arc, thats not really different from what a zanpakuto is to a shinigami. Its a spiritual component of a spiritual being.
apparently, Yachiru was confirmed by Kubo to be an aspect of Kenpachi's zanpakuto spirit, not the whole thing but only part, which split off and became its own entity. She gained shinigami powers of its own after picking up an asauchi, since she is technically a soul.
Tekking I have only seen the first 100 episodes of bleach. And I’m still gonna watch this whole video. Your content is just that good.

@@0816M3RC how'd he get a schrift and gain the power of the Visionary? To get a schrift you have to have communion and drink Yhwach's blood. How can a brain do that? Gerard and Pernida are explained to have had their powers from birth, not given from Yhwach due to being pieces of the Soul King.

Tekking your Theory on what Yachiru is pretty interesting.
My theory I've had for a while is that because Kenpachi had so many restraints on his power he couldn't listen to his Zanpactou properly, but since Kenpachi wanted to communicate with his own zanpactou for a long time Kenpachi unconsciously manifested his Zanpactou spirit which happen to be Yachiru. I say this because in order to learn Bankai you need to be able to manifest your Zanpactou into the physical world which was the case during the soul society arc. Although Kenpachi has never achieved Shikai from that point in time, Nozarashi has been trying to talk with Kenny for a long time and it might be possible that Kenny did learn the name of his Shikai/Zanpactou technically but since Kenny couldn't hear his own sword He never learned the name properly. Also, it seems like the method for the Zanpactou to teach Bankai to each Soul Reaper is different so possibly Kenny's test to learn Bankai is that he must be able to hear Yachiru's true voice and learn Shikai and when that's done He can activate Bankai

Here’s my take as I’ve interpreted it: Yachiru is a manifestation of Kenpachi’s spiritual power. Kenpachi is immensely naturally powerful. He’s also beast like and instinctual. We’ve seen how internal spirit (like hollow ichigo) understand more than the person they reside in. It’s who they are. So who’s to say that Kenpachi didn’t just manifest her as a self defense mechanism since his body couldn’t handle the power.
Considering that he already took physical steps, psychological steps, to limit himself, we already have a history of him needing his power contained. Or you could say displaced. A power that’s been displayed as great as his might have enough intelligence on his own to be the controller of the output of his power. Which is wild enough to imagine that his power was taking the form of his own lieutenant. That he could essentially function as both.
Unohanna Undoing the locks was really just her power returning to him. Which would explain why only he can see her now. But that intelligence is still there to help him on.

Gerar valkery defeat was nerfed. There was a panel when toshiro and byakuya clearly cut him into pieces. Then in the sky a Quincy cross shines and resurrects gerar. Stronger than ever. That cross at that precise moment is when someone must strike in order to kill him. Otherwise it’s an endless brawl where valkery man gets infinitely stronger. That is my theory. But no ywach had to take his power. That was that.
Literally just finished the Bleach manga an hour ago and Yachiru was my biggest mystery. Glad this video popped up for me at the perfect time 👍🏻

It was clearly less even of a split than those 2, given even post 'split' Kenpachi is OP as fuck and Yachiru.... well she never really had any fights but besides being able to stand uneffected while Kenpachi's going ham on everything, she's not really shown to be strong spiritually.
See when I originally read scanalations back in the day I recall Gremmy saying something as he died that was along the lines of he would imagine a world without hope or something and that is about the time that Yachiru disappeared... I kind of took it like Gremmy straight up blinked Yachiru out of existence, and her appearing in his mind was a coping mechanism...
I recently re fell in love with bleach cuz of jump force and ive been binge watching your bleach videos. I've always wondered what's the deal with yachiru and had that very thought last week, as i searched for your video on Kenny and yachiru but didnt find it. Here we are a week later. Crazy how the law of attraction works

Just realised that the thing of soul reapers and their zanpakuto being the same but only a bit different from one another, is the same as that a shikai is the same as a bankai but also a bit different(how a bankai has to somewhat resemble a shikai), nice little detail kubo
I started watching the Lieutenant Series this week, and I thought Tekking had finished it by now. So I was surprised about this one.
Hot Take: Kenpachi’s zanpakutō is supposed to be Kido-based.
Allow me to explain my headcanon theory...
Kenpachi stole the sword from a previous Soul Reaper.
The Soul Reaper previously didn’t have an Asauchi, but instead a zanpakutō with an established Shikai: Yachiru’s Shikai.
Yachiru’s Shikai represents the Shikai of the previous Soul Reaper’s zanpakutō, which was a Kido-based zanpakutō that manifested separate beings to fight on the Soul Reaper’s behalf.
Kenpachi, not one for Kido, began treating the stolen zanpakutō like little more than a blunt-force weapon.
However, Yachiru, the spirit of the zanpakutō, began to recognize Kenpachi’s strength over her previous wielder. She took on a form that Kenpachi could respect: a small girl who didn’t fear Kenpachi’s presence. A worthy comrade.
Kenpachi allowed for the spirit of the zanpakutō to manifest in this way, and Yachiru allowed for Kenpachi to manifest in the way that he chose to.
The reason why the Bankai caused Yachiru’s physical form to completely disappear is because the Bankai is the full realization of Yachiru’s nature: the prior zanpakutō ability of manifesting separate forms.
Yachiru controlled Kenpachi and morphed his body into that of an oni, and it is essentially both a blessing and a curse to Kenpachi: it is the gift of unbridled and god-like strength in exchange for a surrender of power.
In a way, it’s a bit of revenge on Yachiru’s part. This isn’t to say that Yachiru hates Kenpachi, but it IS irony in the fact that Yachiru, in the fully realized state of Bankai, controls Kenpachi.
It is the sword which controls the man, rather than the way it has been previously.
Yachiru and Kenpachi’s relationship is that of mutual respect. Rather than that of Soul Reaper and zanpakutō, it is two entities who have learned to cooperate on the grounds of mutual respect.
The 11th Division, however, looks down on Kido-based zanpakutō as a result of Kenpachi’s continued denial of such powers, viewing them as weak.
Yachiru allows herself to be wielded by Kenpachi as he wishes because she respects his supreme power. If she didn’t respect him, she wouldn’t make such an exception.
The most likely manifests as due to the nature of her power as a Kido-based zanpakutō that creates those entities in its Shikai, OR as a result of feeding off of the immense power that Kenpachi gives off. I’m not sure which.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I start to belive that she was meant to be Kenpachi's true Zampakuto... But he already had another one he was pouring his reiatsu into. At least correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they say Kenpachi just picked up a random sword and decided to keep it?? If so, the main reason his sword didn't speak to it might have been because it was being hold against its will by Ken... So maybe when the Zampakuto finally decided to give in and follow him as his true master, it allowed Yachiru to "enter" as well in order to become one... Or who knows. I don't remember the details and this was super vague :/

I think Restu Unohana and Yamamoto knew that Yachiru was Kenpachi's sword, but just never told him.
Yachiru could do one of those end of the episode explanations.
Perhaps it's similar logic to muramasa from the sword demon filler arc, or sword beast arc whichever it was. Maybe there's hidden powers to nozarashi that allows for yachiru and her shikai to exist.
