Let's not forget that Nanao in the very end implied that she was fine being his lover. Even Tekking got the hint at 36:08. I still remember his first reaction when the chapter came out, he was like "but he is your uncle?"

@@PlatinumV3 He is based in Hikaru Genji, a famous japanese womanizer (in japanese literature) ,he literally kidnaped his lover's niece to raiser her (she was a kid) and ends up marrying her. So xD I'm not surprised, he also had relationships with his mother in law. We are not sure if Nanao and Shunsui are blood realated, the timeline is kinda sus, but in ancient Japan was ok uncle-niece marriage so...

@@chadsknnr If you read the novels and paid attention to the first seasons, the noble houses marry either inside the house or to other noble houses, after thousands and thousands and thousands of years, the four noble houses plus the lower ones (Ise clan and Shunshui's clan) must be already related so... A Nanao/Shunshui pairing would be even benefitial for both houses (the Ise clan is dissapearing and the Shunsui one as well)

I love how Nanao was greatly influenced by Lisa Yodamaru but they still have distinct personalities.

@@KhaosDCrab Well I don't know if you were far into the series, but we find out that Lisa used to be somewhat of a role model to nanao. That's why they look very similar in the way they dress etc.

This is one of the greatest Rick and Morty references I have ever seen.
I still remember Jugram playing it off after Nanao got smug with her barrier by simply saying "Cool barrier... Did you teach that to the rest of the Gotei?" And her reaction is priceless.

Fun fact in an interview Kubo said he thought about giving Izuru a Bankai but because of his personality and Wabisuke itself he thought any bankai would be too creepy

The way Shinken-Hakkyoken is named kinda insinuates that there are other Shinken in Soul Society.
Specifically because it is the Mirror Sword. I'd expect there to be others and that each other one would have a specific purpose.

@@hahmann If you think about it, it makes perfect sense, all good shonen did something similar, adding another superior element. In Dragonball it's god KI, in One Piece it's conqueror Haki, in Naruto you have two superior chakras.

Shunsui is literally the uncle of Nanao, like bruhhhhhhh, blood relatives are in the same squad, and they are Captain and lieutenant, that is a very interesting duo

Her dedication to her Captain/uncle are quite admirable and she's got the patience of a saint holding him to account for his leacherous shenanigans and at times immature behavior. What makes her bond with Shunsui so dynamic is that while she keeps his silly side in check he does the same in keep her morals on the up and narrow. This was best seen when he frantically stopped her from finishing Chad, given his history he clearly did not want her hands stained red like his are. They are one another's morality guides.

@@corruptangel6793 which implies that it isn't the only one of its kind being a holy sword and since the Soul King is sort of the god of their world...I wouldn't be surprised if they are a series of weapons specifically meant to deal with him.
@@LupineShadowOmega I always lumped it in with other artifacts like the Sokyoku, that halberd weapon they were gonna use to execute Rukia.
I also like to think the reason it's cursed is because that was what the original founders of the 5 Noble Clans used to cut apart the SoulKing when they sealed him

The one thing that made me appreciate Nanao is that while she comes off as a prude/stickler, she isn't. She will follow the rules to a T but she also knows when that's uncalled for and will bend the rules (or just flat out break them) when deemed necessary.
Can't say the same about Soifon, cause _that's_ the one that ends up being the real stickler . . . .

Funny how Central 46 were complaining about Shunsui having two lieutenants while literally Kensei also has two lieutenants being Mashiro and Hisagi.

@@ashhikari626 Agreed. And one of the reasons I love their dynamic. Though it got more tragic as you learned Shunsui's backstory and thus get why he is "lazy".

*Lore:* The ISE Clan is not the only clan to have a generational zanpakuto, the Shihoin Clan (Yoruichi's Family) also has a generational zanpakuto, which is why she had it as the Head of the Stealth Force but abandoned it, when she left the Soul Society. Her little brother is expected to be the family head soon and will be given the Zanpakuto.
Isn’t it revealed in CFYOW that the Tsunayashiro clan have one? Is that canon I’m not sure...

I am still curious about the Kido Corp and its functions in detail.
Anime characters with glasses really does a lot for me. Rangiku was nice, but I've been & and stayed on the Nanao train even if she got very little spotlight. I do be going back n forth between Nanao and Lisa trains.
Fun fact: in the Heat the Soul games, Nanao’s main method of attack (besides using her comically large book) is using her hand while it’s infused with some type of Spirit Energy, much like how her hand glowed when she wanted to finish off Chad. It’s like some Kabuto thing where she cuts you barehanded. Likely the game just spitballing and making stuff, but it’s a little interesting.

I've been thinking, what if Wing Bind from Burn the Witch is the east branch of not only the Soul Society, but the Kido Corp as well?
I'm pretty sure we see one of the characters use Hado #4: Byakurai on a dragon at some point; admittedly, that's only based on the appearance and after-effects, and he did it totally without the incantation or even saying the name of the spell. It was clearly powerful enough that he is comparable to a seated officer in the single digits at the least.
My theory about the Shinken Hakkyouken is that it was created to injure/maim the Soul King, and so the Ise Clan and their descendants were cursed by the Soul King as retaliation.
I believe so too. Makes sense taking into consideration the original sin as well. I seriously hope we get to see the past of the old Gotei so that we get more info about Ise clan and their situation when the anime comes back.
Nanao was fun but felt kinda out of left field seeing her sword without the bond you see in the filler.
Plus the rangiku orihime bucket scene was Ichigo in the Mana instead so thank rangiku for training orihime for you ichiho

Some info about Izuru you might want to know, he has a fight with shaz domino in the 13 blades databook so I hope you touch on that a little bit when talking about him. also something else about Izuru is that, Kubo did confirm that he has a bankai but it's too "gross" to be shown or something like that so there's also that. Can't wait for the video he's my favourite

Nanao Ise, the only bleach character that I can see being a teacher who falls for her student because he knew what to say and how to push the right buttons 😉
There's a manga with that exact premise and the teacher has the same style, it's "My teacher cant tell me love" btw.

@@asimhussain8716 I think there's a difference between "should be avoided at all costs" and just "should be avoided". If two people are just amazingly compatible and the feelings are genuine and they fall deeply in love, then sure, they can make it work despite their respective roles. But in general, yes a teacher and student should avoid being in a romantic relationship with one another. So should a boss and their workers. So should a director or producer and their actors. So should a doctor and their patients. So should a lawyer and their clients. So should an experienced adult with a very young adult (thinking 30+ with an 18-21 year old). So should relationships in the workplace in general. Yeah every relationship can have someone with more conceptual power or physical power, but some have default power in terms of your employment, education, reputation, and legal standing that they would not have if not for their position relative to you. That's the point. That's why when above board relationship DO happen in the workplace, it often involves disclosure of the relationship to the higher-ups, and one or both people moving to different teams or departments. To avert the danger of the power dynamic without ending the relaitonship. The power dynamic also goes the other way, it isn't just abuse potential. It's also unfair advantage potential. Someone in a relationship with their senior can get unfair benefits that other juniors don't get. Or someone in power can get their significant other hired under them. Which is nepotism, something against the rules in many workplaces.
Your inability to perceive the power dynamic on an everyday basis doesn't mean it isn't there and it isn't significant. Sometimes a junior will only even agree to be in the relationship BECAUSE they are able to perceive that power even if you can't. They might be thinking "shit if I say no i could get fired/expelled/etc" even if nothing you said or did implied that. And so now you're unwittingly taking advantage of that person even if it wasn't your intent. It doesn't mean these relationships can NEVER work, but it does mean that A) the potential for abuse is greater, B) that people's scrutiny of the relationship because of that potential will be greater, and C) open communication and honesty is CRITICAL in these relationships (that last one really should apply to all relationships, just extra key here). I can't assume your age, but the further you go into adulthood, the more you need to be aware of this and be respectful of the boundaries that should come with a position of seniority because even if you don't feel like you have power, you actually do (or they do, if you are the junior in the relationship).

Nanoa's family sword was used to cut off the SK limbs. Eat cut broke out pieces which then became embedded into humans creating the fullbringers
Ima big fan of izuru and wish I could read the light novel to find more about him I just think his shikai is the coolest. Its literally a guillotine sword with an awesome power

Absolutely not we can’t ignore that Nanao is very pretty and attractive. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a brainy beauty at all. I loved Nanao from the moment she first appeared on screen. She’s smart and does take her job as a lieutenant very seriously, I like her interactions with Rangiku.

Nanao's Kido skill is probably only below Tessai, Hachi, Urahara, Aizen and Yamamoto since they are both supposedly masters of all four Shinigami arts, and probably Ichibē considering some of the stuff he did against Yhwach. Being recommended to the Kido Corps seems like a major thing considering how rarely they're seen suggesting they're probably both less numerous than the Gotei and Onmitsukidō and much more selective. I think this suggests her talent for Kido probably even overshadows other notably very talented Kido users like Byakuya, Rukia, Mayuri, Shunsui, Ukitake, and healers like Unohana, Isane, Seinosuke, etc...
The thing we have to remember about the final arc of the story is that it was cut short by the publisher
Kubo had terribly slow pacing and dragged stuff out . Worse he focused on the wrong characters.
@@bqw2094 I mean, at the end of the day it was HIS story to tell. I'm not qualified to talk about technical stuff, but I respect his right to tell his story the way he wanted. And while you're entitled to feel how you want and have an opinion, at the end of the day a story is a form of art and is thus subjective by its very nature.

I think Nanao was either in seiretei as you said or keeping the barrier on. Remember Sasakibe was doing that too and when the vizards came in he came in too to let Yamamoto know. The barrier was maybe too powerfull for Sasakibe alone. Because after Sasakibe, who we dont know much but being the 1st squads lieutenant is something big not many can do, Nanao is the closest to being that great. And Isane too of course but she was needed as a healer
Uncle Shunsui looking after his neice. He's by far my favorite captain and probably my favorite Bleach character period. It's between him and Aizen (can never decide which i prefer more) who are ahead of Grimmjow, Kenpachi and Urahara as my top 5.
I think there is one good excuse for Nanao's sword's special properties. All of the Quincey's powers referenced God in some way. May the sword is an anti Quincey sword, and it had no use cause the Quincey's were all but wiped out until the last arc. Just a thought.

I think the thing about Nanao's familial sword is that it's meant to fight against Quincies in general. Which fits a lot more as this thing that was passed down for generations since there was that whole Quincy prophecy foretelling Ywach's return

We can all agree that 8th division was the one the made the best impression. The first time i saw Nanao, i though that she would involve in a fight, she would bust out some crazy Kidos.

In Demon Souls and Dark Souls 3, there's a weapon called the Storm Ruler. In Demon Souls, it's the best way to attack the swarm of flying enemies and the boss that spawns them. In Dark Souls 3, it does damage worth like 40% of a giant's health bar. Both of them are in the very boss room you need them for.

I get the feeling her family sword was the blade that cut the Soul King into pieces... hence why it was such an important event to soul society that it went missing, deicide was an expected followup to the sword going missing
I just had a thought, considering that Kubo like many anime writers, tends to borrow ideas from various mythologies... The Ise family "sword" might have been given to them by the royal family, one source I believe Kubo borrows from is Judeo-Christianity, and in that sphere some believe the Fall of man, the devil's rebellion, etc was all foreseen by God.
If you look at it in that way, it's possible that if Kubo did indeed borrow from that religion, that the Ise clan possibly was entrusted with this weapon by the Royal guard in anticipation of Juhabach becoming an enemy.

So my crackpot theory was always that there are multiple divine swords and that they all exist to deal with the Soul King or maybe his aspects directly. He is kind of their god. Also one that they might not have the best relationship with if we are to believe Yhwach.
The Tsunayashiro have Enrakyoten, which is an ancestral sword of phenomenal power, and the Kuchiki have Muramasa, which is canon, and also an ancestral sword. The Ise Clan obviously have Shinken-Hakkyoken, which is an ancestral sword. I suspect that any Noble family of Soul Society of sufficient pedigree and power has some sort of a Shinken (Ancestral Sword); I have no doubts whatsoever that the Shihoin family has one, and that the Shiba clan had one at some point (maybe they still do).
the sword specifies sword twice, so maybe theres the Divine Sword and it has a few different forms like "8 mirror sword" made for fighting different types of gods like a fan form for fire gods or a lantern form for ice gods or an ice form for water gods
