5 Minute Finger and Thumb Exercises for Both Hands: 5 Minute Follow Along Movement Series Week 1

- Today kicks off my 5 Minute Follow Along Movement Series! Every Friday I'll be uploading a variety of quick finger, wrist, and arm exercises you can do just about anywhere with little to no equipment.
✅The exercises we'll be doing in this video are:
00:51 Spider fingers on both hands
02:20 Active finger extension follow with relaxed straight fist on both hands
03:51 Knuckle benders to finger abduction on both hands
05:18 Finger and Thumb C’s on right hand
07:38 Finger and Thumb C’s on left hand
There is a common misconception that more is better but when it comes to your already overworked hands, less is more! You don't have to do a lot of exercises to make them free from stiffness and and joint pain.
In this movement series, we'll be doing 5 exercises, some are done on both hands at the same time while others are better done seperately. Each exercise is only 1 minute with a total workout of 5 minutes. That's a quick way to care for your overworked hands!
Most of all don't forget to breathe (we have a tendency to hold our breath when doing hand exercises), but more importantly be proud of yourself for caring for the 'tools' you were given to create, work, and play!
Please comment below to let me, and others, know how this real time hand routine felt for you!

You’re welcome! 🙌
Thank youuu for helping alottt 😭😭😭 do you have any exercise to improve my hand fist 🥹
Hi Michelle, I came across your channel accidentally and subscribed immediately because your presentation is top-notch. Exercises are simple and practical though right now I don't need them much. But I will be watching everything continuously because I like the way you are presenting them without a grumpy or silly face like some others. (lol). Greetings from Sri Lanka.
Thank you! No grumpy faces here!! 🤗

Thank you. I felt some areas of exercise that was helping my hands feel "warmed up" for a lack of a better term. I have a little bit of trigger finger on the right ring finger and saw your comments on how squeezing a ball exasperates it. Some one locally ("professional") had me using the ball and said the popping and such was normal (it never was up to a few months ago when this started). I quit using it and the symptoms nearly all went away within a week. Mornings is when it pops and soon with normal use it goes away... which tells me I am repairable "🙂" ... the weekly series is a great idea and I wish I could contribute to help with the information. pb
Sorry you had to go to someone that obviously does not know much about trigger finger! Yes, trigger finger can be repairable!
@@VirtualHandCare thank you. I sent to a friend too. Thank you … again.
I have post-axial polydactyly or in layman's terms an extra digit. Will these exercises help me since I have very weak muscles in my right hand. Thank you for your time, Michelle.
Exercise 5 I could not feel the thumb muscle plumping up or doing anything. I felt more activity over the top of my hand.
Try placing the fingers from your other hand over your thumb muscles and slightly push against them with your thumb when making your C. Hope that helps!
I am 70 years old and have never experienced cold fingers. I had a major cut to my thumb in July during a major flood event. Short story, major bleeding, tourniquet applied to my lower arm and left on by the Rescue Team for over 2 hours without periodic releases. Thumb was quickly repaired by the surgeon upon arrival to the local Hospital. Thumb is completely healed with no complications. Weather is now getting cooler and I am experiencing a cold index finger whenever the temperature drops below 60 degrees (living in Vermont it will be going below zero soon). Seems like too much of a coincidence to not be related to the length of time the tourniquet was left on but that's not my point. What if anything can I do/work on to regain proper blood flow to this finger??? 🙏
Hi. Would you please make a video discussing a scaphoid fracture versus a scapholunate ligament injury? Many thanks.
Can you show the same with feet nail s
