Cars Using FAKE Engine Sound!

With emissions laws becoming more strict around the world, manufacturers are finding new an interesting ways of enhancing the driving experience from within the cabin without it making the car louder outside.
One such method is BMW's Active Sound Design or ASD system which uses the car's speaker system to play generated engine sound inside the cabin, but many other manufacturers use similar systems.
In today's video I thought it would be interesting to demonstrate just how much difference this makes in realtime using an app called BimmerLink which allows you to turn the ASD feature on and off while driving.
