I simply cannot believe that the 2007 is now a retro drive. I remember my mate having one but in 2006; one of the earlier models in the UK and it was a technological wonder. We used to go into the West End in London to heads turning and admiring looks. Now watching this, I feel nostalgic for it, but where have the years gone? I must be getting old.

As the driver of a 2006 Continental Flying Spur (bought in 2015 with 56,000km on the odometer), they are NOT expensive to maintain as long as the owner is diligent in doing the regular maintenance. These are well put together cars and as Thomas pointed out, everything in the interior is well still rock solid and doesn't snap, crackle and pop like my 2011 Jag XJ. Interestingly, on my 2006 Bentley the headliner is starting to sag and the hood shocks are also in need of replacing, but these are minor (and well known) issues on an otherwise gem of a car.
The comedy bit at the beginning was so good, i paused the video to like it and write down this praise. Now I'm going to savour the rest of the video, with my cup of after-lunch coffee. Thanks guys.

They do knock and brutalise the stone-age tech of the old Bentley like they should, and praise the hand-crafting in detail like they should. And they heap praise and are visibly stunned by the New one. They're normal basically, lol
I went and test drove a 2005 Continental GT recently because it seemed like a good car for weekend dates. It was actually a pleasure. Maintenance costs might get high with W12 engine, but the car is affordable overall. Decided to go with a Lexus LC 500 instead. Still recommend it from a driver’s standpoint.

I was never a big fan of the Continental's. They just looked bloated to me. But they hit the nail on the head this generation, the body lines they added look so good. That's just an amazing looking car.

The 2007 has held up well all things considered. I prefer the design of the new one though. I also like how the black walnut section of the slit finish trim shows the grain instead of just being piano black. I personally feel like the V8 would be more than enough, especially if you were brave enough to spend the money and tune it.

It's the exaggerated rear haunches of the new GT that makes it, in my opinion, the best looking luxury car in production. Looks like they took inspiration from the 2006 Continental GTZ by Zagato. This new GT is so handsome It actually passes for a classic car, and that's the highest praise I can offer because, let's be real, nobody will ever make a car prettier than an existing classic. Citroen DS, Jag E-Type, Jag XKSS, Corvette C3 Stingray, Delahaye 135 / 165, Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, Porsche 356 Speedster, Maserati A6, Maserati Birdcage, Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, Alfa Romeo BAT Concept Trio, Talbot Lago, Mercedes 300SLR, Rolls Royce Phantom 1 Jonckheere Coupe, Ferrari 250, Ferrari 275GTB, Bugatti Type 57SC, etc, etc, etc.

I drove a 2015 V8s and aside from the wheel and the tech in the center console it was exactly the same as the old one in the videos. The same family also had a 2018 S63 AMG with 4.0 v8. I preferred the AMG so much more. The new Continental GT looks amazing though.

As others have said I love your old versus new videos and especially when it comes to some of these high-end cars because they are so rare on the road that a 10 or 15 year old one compared to a brand new one doesn't register with the average person like when you did the wraith

They should have compared the 2020 First Edition to a 2010 Supersports. The Gen 1 Supersports has a much better interior (looks fairly modern still) and the outside is much more aggressive and looks a lot more modern then the stock Gen 1 Conti. At $80k, you can have that, a 2019 G63 G-wagen, and a Huracan for the price of the 2020 Bentley....
A dentist is the thing that all Brits get for free/subsidised and Britian ranks quite highly for. Maybe the joke seems relarable abroad due to other countries own dental issues.

Goes without saying, the problem with the old one is the maintenance costs. That and it’s very expensive to insure because even a minor accident will total the car.
You make such a BIG thing of the " old" car being a 2007, " for a 2007", " for a 2007". I drive a 2006 Holden Commodore SV6 which still drive like the day I bought it almost 16 years ago.
Humorous, but informative and detailed car review. While I would love to buy something new, up to date, and shiny, I could only afford the older Bentley. But I would seek to restore the weak bits as much as possible. And it would be awesome (and not break the bank).
I have a Bentley continental GT 2007 model with a special order trim including upgraded leathers and diamond stitching with a company stock option spoiler on it . I have had this car for the last 4 years and it’s stunningly reliable and comfortable to drive. Try to believe 50% of that you see on TH-cam and other social media platforms about cars and leave 50% to your thoughts and personal judgment. Do not forget that those car enthusiasts main target is to market the newest models over the old ones.
Shhhh if you listen closely you can hear the Bentley depreciating.

Goes without saying, the problem with the old one is the maintenance costs. That and it’s very expensive to insure because even a minor accident will total the car.

You make such a BIG thing of the " old" car being a 2007, " for a 2007", " for a 2007". I drive a 2006 Holden Commodore SV6 which still drive like the day I bought it almost 16 years ago.

Humorous, but informative and detailed car review. While I would love to buy something new, up to date, and shiny, I could only afford the older Bentley. But I would seek to restore the weak bits as much as possible. And it would be awesome (and not break the bank).

I have a Bentley continental GT 2007 model with a special order trim including upgraded leathers and diamond stitching with a company stock option spoiler on it . I have had this car for the last 4 years and it’s stunningly reliable and comfortable to drive. Try to believe 50% of that you see on TH-cam and other social media platforms about cars and leave 50% to your thoughts and personal judgment. Do not forget that those car enthusiasts main target is to market the newest models over the old ones.
