The problem with the brake test is the flawed nature of the test. The Bentley as a fast road car is designed to stop quickly ONCE. Its pad compound will have excellent cold bite and will allow for a single high speed emergency stop quickly. The porsche pads will need warmed up to do their best and will deliver repeat stops time after time without fading anywhere near as quickly. If you kept doing the brake test, the Porsche would win on following attempts, I'm fairly sure of it. One cold stop doesn't tell you much about the braking system IMHO, not with performance oriented cars.
Don't they both have ceramic rotors? Also that Continental have those huge 6 piston brake calipers, I think it makes sense that the Bentley stopped the shortest distance.

Yianni is not breaking early. I'm quite impressed how he nails it right as he hits the line. You can see from the pitch of the car he is right on the money. To my eye anyway.
Just going fast isn't what we should be admiring here, the amount of comfort, stability bently provided while trying to keep up with those speeds. Just see the camera shot off Bently, the Porsche looks so stable while Porsche was rumbling so much at those speeds, just see the cam shots off porsche the bently looks so wacky. Really impressed with the driving comfort and stability Bently provided to Yani while keeping Porsche on its toes 👏

The Continetal GT has become a truly fantastic car. Amazing GT car for long distance driving, but very capable. And that colour is stunning but it needs the white W12 motifs to finish it off.
Before the race: poor Bentley doesn’t stand a chance. Then I realize Porsche is naturally aspirated and 135 hp less. After the race: Wow that Porsche engine sounds amazing! And it launches 🚀
It's just sound engineering. If a company like VAG AG decided to go nuts on engine sound, they can make whatever sound they want...naturally through hardware!

The reason the rolling races yielded two different results is because of the following: The GT3 has very tall gearing. In the first race the GT3 downshifted to 2nd gear, into it's power-band, whereas in the second race the GT3 was locked in 3rd way too low in the revs. On the other hand the Bentley has an 8 speed auto and much shorter gears, it was probably into 5th by the time Mat got to the top of 3rd.
So what you mean is the Porsche lost the second rolling race because the gearbox setup wasn't as optimum as the first rolling race that it narrowly won. Long way to describe that it won one and lost the other.
Lol, no, that's not what happened. Both the rolling races were done in the same mode in Porsche as it is the only mode Porsche has. Actually, the first rolling race was done with Bentley in comfort mode where the Bentley is tuned to be like a cushion to say the least and it didn't accelerate aggressively and instead in a linear fashion. So Porsche won. In the second one, Bentley was in its more aggresive setting so it won.
Just physics. The more weight, the bigger the rubber contact patch on the ground so the ABS will kick in less. Of course, you have to have very good rotors and pads to handle it, which the Bentley has.

I worked service delivery and pickup for Bentley in NY last year a local guy had a GT w12 Limited and the thing was an animal.
its because the gt3 is a track focused car and it obviously has a stiff suspension. Also the back wing adds a lot of downforce at high speeds

The Continetal GT has become a truly fantastic car. Amazing GT car for long distance driving, but very capable. And that colour is stunning but it needs the white W12 motifs to finish it off.

The reason the rolling races yielded two different results is because of the following: The GT3 has very tall gearing. In the first race the GT3 downshifted to 2nd gear, into it's power-band, whereas in the second race the GT3 was locked in 3rd way too low in the revs. On the other hand the Bentley has an 8 speed auto and much shorter gears, it was probably into 5th by the time Mat got to the top of 3rd.
So what you mean is the Porsche lost the second rolling race because the gearbox setup wasn't as optimum as the first rolling race that it narrowly won. Long way to describe that it won one and lost the other.
Lol, no, that's not what happened. Both the rolling races were done in the same mode in Porsche as it is the only mode Porsche has. Actually, the first rolling race was done with Bentley in comfort mode where the Bentley is tuned to be like a cushion to say the least and it didn't accelerate aggressively and instead in a linear fashion. So Porsche won.
In the second one, Bentley was in its more aggresive setting so it won.

Just physics. The more weight, the bigger the rubber contact patch on the ground so the ABS will kick in less. Of course, you have to have very good rotors and pads to handle it, which the Bentley has.
