Fun fact, both cars may feel similar in softness while on the road, but that's because Roll Royce made the new one that soft the testing staff was getting motion sickness because it glided too well, so they had to add some feel back into it.

I always wanted to go into space but figured it would set mine off like crazy, however when Bob n Doug first flew in Dragon, when they landed in the sea one of them stated the sea was setting off their motion sickness, but he'd been in space with it and fine.
I really love the old straight Grills, specially how the slopes are so sharp and the spirit of ecstacy sitting at the top, makes the old RR look more mean and elegant at the same time as RR are supposed to look like. With that black gangster vibes interior, i am sure the owner was a mob boss!

Why would I put 600k into a depreciating asset when I could lease it for 80k/year, take the remaining money and put a down payment on property(ies) earning 25-35% cash on cash return (40-50% real return)? By not paying cash for the car, I made way more money and get a new car more often without the hassle of trying to sell it. If I pay for the first year of lease up front that leaves 520k, which is enough for a down payment on $2.6m worth of real estate. Where I live I can expect to see about $210k/year gross from that investment. After expenses it will be about half that, but still.. More than covers the cost of my lease and I couldn't have done that if I paid cash.

love these videos! having purchased an older phantom myself (just posted about it on my channel!), I've been shocked by the quality. research seems to indicate that the average rolls can go for 75 years easily, if maintained!
The plastic molding on the front of the cars is truly a work of art and is such an improvement from 20 years ago, although you can't tell by looking at it.
What's impressive is even if you purchase that old RR from a dealer, they will perform a mechanical evaluation prior to purchase and give you a 3 year warranty on all of the components of the vehicle -even if it's 15 years old. Talk about having confidence in your product.

My dad had a vw phaeton and that had massage seats. He got it for 30k when it was a year old and that phantom was like 80k and that phaeton was originally 120k and that phantom like 5 times that. I love that that wasn’t a thing in the nicest car from about the same time period.

My primary criteria for a vehicle - real life and dream - assuming that everything else is decent (acceleration, comfort, features etc) is interior cabin noise. The 2020 surging from stop without any sound at all is my dream. My actual car - a 2017 Audi a4, was weirdly in that couple of years, the second quietest cabin available except for the Phantom. I think that was a kind of accident of engineering, since the A4 was quieter than the A6 and A8. (Tires permitting). But watch the later scenes in the 2020 when they're racing beneath trees - watch the ceiling - seeing the starry night appear instantly in shadow is very cool.

You really can buy used Rolls-Royce with a nice price, but they are old and have a lot of kilometres. Available spare parts are a big challenge. I lived a moment, in which a buyer bought a Rolls-Royce, Turbo S, 6,7 Litre, for a price about € 19.000. The car seemed to be new. I was sitting in the car. It was the Retro-Classic-Fair in Stuttgart-Airport some years ago.

This is the kind of review I was looking for. My chauffeur has been insisting that I buy a new Phantom, because all the other chauffeurs make fun of him. However, I was reluctant to buy a new RR, since I already have 3 and well, you can only fit many RRs in a garage, am I right guys?
After watching this I'm convinced I don't need it quite yet, as a reprimand to James (my chauffeur) I'll buy a more modest Mercedes-AMG G63. After all, I'm a very minimalist and simplistic person.
