    Just curious about the velocity stacks. If using what you did on your 636,does it decrease the torque and increase the top end power?? Because my friend's MT09 yamaha,he did change the velocity stacks and when after tunning it,it decrease the torque a little bit but increase the top end as increase the hp by 2. My zx636r just mod full system akrapovic evo line exhaust and remap and it gets 124hp with 49torque.

      There is a dyno on one of the popular zx6 sites showing cut 15 stacks. Search 2015 636 Dyno with VP MR12 and look at the dyno. I used 09-12 stacks not modified and noticed a gain on the top. I did not notice any loss in the midrange. I have no dyno of the mod. The 09-12 stacks are cheap try it and see what you think. Also, several racers use the 09-12 stacks.

    Nice video, The replacement velocity stacks are all from same size or they have cyl 1 and 4 shorter and 3 and 4 taller?

      1&4 are shorter, part numbers are standard oem stacks from 09-12 Kawasaki.

    Hello, first of all, nice zx6r.
    So if i understand your video, you changed the old stacks by new ones ?
    I have a zxr 400, i would like to put racing blue velocity stacks
    Some people say it's better to keep the stock airbox.
    What is your opinion ?

      I kept the stock airbox, but changed the stacks. I changed the stacks because racers have proven this gives a little more hp on the top, or moves the peak up. Also, the design matches what is in my ZX10 and my GSXR. In addition, I am adding tuning and a full system so any potential loss of mid range power will be negated. For me it is a win win situation. In your situation, I am not familiar with your entire setup, but you must look at the bike as a system and your goals.
      If the stacks give more hp and proven without a significant loss in the mid range then I say go for it.

      Coz i think the race stacks for my bike are not the same, anyway, i go for the stacks.
      Is it recommended to put the race stacks more the dynojet (it's US needles and other parts for the carburetors plus effect)?

      The stacks I used are standard/stock/oem Kawasaki for the 2009-2012 ZX6. I used them because racers were using them. They move the hp curve higher in the rpm band.
      I am not familiar with your bike, but I would give you this advice. If the stacks, jets, needles work for your bike then get them and use them, but I would not expect a huge gain.
      Sometimes there is value in just making modifications even if the hp gain isn't the greatest.
      As I said in my previous reply, look at the bike as an entire package and think about your goals. Modify according to your end goal.
      For me I knew I would race/track the bike. Also, I knew I was putting a full exhaust on, tuning the bike with Woolich, and I was -1 +2 in sprockets so any loss in the middle would ultimately be insignificant for the riding I would do.

    Just looked at Kawasaki Europe parts site, and apparently the stacks were changed for your model only in US for model 2013-2018, while European models remained with the same stacks as 09 model. Only the new 2019 model in Europe has the factory stacks as your bike.

      I found them under 2012 zx6r air cleaner diagram.
      14073-0262 , 14073-0263 2 of each. Definitely check to make sure it is right.

    Actually these have a map and maf sensor, no narrowband o2 (only euro equipped with o2). The ecu receives voltage signal from crank, tps, secondary tps, map, maf, air temp..... and more to determine running either alpha-n or speed density map. Cat removal will definitely require a tune, but bikes today are mapped so lean in spots (especially 40%, EPA checks up to this throttle position). Once a slip on is installed in this setup is when I'd be concerned- the stacks may lean out the bike considerably around 40% throttle after increased flow from filter and exhaust. Btw- after adding a tuner secondary throttle plate removal and primary tps fine tune adjustment helps choppy throttle response.😎

      ninja turtle this model does not have a maf. Map can only do so much and very little on an individual stack engine. I have made adjustments in my tune to help.

      ninja turtle I have been tuning on this setup via wideband O2 and data logging from the track. It pulls very strong and moves my heavy body quite well. Not liter bike power for sure, but it will float the front tire well into 5th. I was actually very surprised it could do that. Do you have a 6?

    What did you do to keep the engine light from coming on? I want to use block off plates on my 2018 Zx6r. I have heard leave it connected also use a staple or some wire.
    Im want to get rid of the back firing and popping. My bike sounds like shit at low rpm’s and from what I have learned thats when this pair valve is active.

      I tune my own bikes with Woolich software and a logbox. There is an option to turn it off. This is the only way I have ever done it. If I was doing it without a flash I probably would leave the solenoid connected and out of the way.

    Do you think/know if the stacks/flash/full exhaust/tune would bring back the top end lost going -1/+2 on your sprockets?

      Austin Sandwick not really. The combination lets it pull harder in the top of the rpms. Watch my vir front straight pull video and see it pulls my 260# and never runs out of breath.
      I think -1 is probably the best combo out there for a street/track bike. Even on mine I am thinking of going to a -1.

      Austin Sandwick I guess I am saying I don’t know if the extra power at the top is enough to pull 6th gear to match what the factory sprockets are.
      My thoughts are this combo and -1 will have a higher top speed.

      I think -1 15 front is probably the best overall gearing for everyday use. Stock felt lazy. 15/45 pulls hard but seems like I am always shifting. 3-6 gear on -1 +2 is 👍🏻. I don’t know for sure but I think -1 would get a higher top speed than stock sprockets. Thanks for the sub.

      They prevent oxygen from entering the exhaust system and giving a false oxygen signal to wideband

      +IRL DriftKing at the track day it seemed to have a stronger top end pull, but I have not had it on a dyno.

      Chri790 velocity stacks don’t give you horsepower they move the power around, depending on the length you get you I. Increase your top end I. Exchange for midrange and vice versa

    Is PC5 good to tune with?

      Can it be done? Yes. Will it produce results? Yes. Ideal? No.
      Pc5 works where the loading places it solidly into the Tps mapping. Pc5 cannot tune in the iap maps because it only can tune in a single cell of rpm vs tps. While the bike is in the iap maps engine vacuum can change significantly moving the cell the ecu is using for fueling. The PC5 has no way of mapping to some of these iap cells.
      Pc5 is an option, but a reflash is a better solution. Provided the time is spent to map both fueling tables through a variety of engine loading.
