I normally do but we were pushed for time on this video as usual 🤣 Thanks for joining us, our aim is to eventually do this full time and put out 3 videos a week so you are joining us at the beginning.
Nice instructive demo guys, I have this to do on my Merc 190 and have been putting it off for fear of making the paint worse. I think the wheels aren’t too bad and not hideous black. However, silver would work for sure!
Thanks mate, just take your time and don’t apply too much pressure, that advice goes for any procedure on your paint. The products will do the work for you it just takes time. Good luck and I’m sure it will come out awesome.
Great job guys, very informative and I really like your step by step format and links to buy recommended products. I think black and gunmetal wheels are a passing trend….go silver with lacquer to seal against the winter salt. Keep up the great work!
Thanks mate, I like the idea of silver but I think gunmetal is winning and Charlie wants to keep them grey 😢 I won the gloss grilles so I might need to let Charlie have this one 😂
Great video fella's . Looked fantastic when you'd finished it. Paint really popped. My vote is for silver wheels. Keep up the good work. Stay lucky. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Alan L200
Thanks Alan, it makes such a difference. It’s almost changed the colour when you see it in real life, the camera doesn’t do it justice. Thanks again for watching.
Great video lads I would do wheels in silver and in the middle of the front grill the three rings paint them red they loom great seen a few here in the UK I wait for you guy every week because you show day to day car repair jobs looking forward to seeing you paint front wings Phil in stoke in the UK
Well I love your ultra rare B6 particularly the GMBH body kit that you never see any more. The colour is Denim Blue I think as I have a 02 plate avant that also needs paint correction after 2o odd years of being washed with a gritty sponge. Keep up the videos I love that you are doing this is a busy scheme with the neighbours in the background.
what strength is the clay bar as their is different one too chooses from, have you tryed fuso polish it has amazing rain repellent but is a bugger to take off , love the video keep it up
Thanks Ewan, sorry I should have mentioned it’s a medium clay bar. I’ll pop a pinned comment up about it. I will have a look for that stuff and give it a go, thanks again.
For the wheels you could use fallout remove and try scrubbing it with a magic eraser, should come up great, make sure to keep the area lubricated to reduce swirling. Might need to give it a light hand polish after, the rim might appear a bit dull if you don't
Thanks for the comment Richard, I’ve watched the video again and there is one bit where you can see it, looks great now that the whole car is done. I film the bonnet close up in tonight’s video when we put the grille back in and it looks amazing.
Great vid guys, i'm a new subscriber, i watched yous on Chops, and glad i did. Your kind of videos are brilliant for information and well presented. Will be watching in future 👏👏
Love the videos and there’s a but, is the volume level, when your doing a demo with music the volume is good then you go to speaking and can barely here you, so I’m forever up and down with the volume. Maybe invest in mics. Just a positive criticism
Hi Ricky, Thanks for watching and posting some feedback. I totally agree with your comment, a lot of the problem we have is high winds where we live so its difficult to adjust the sound levels to compensate for wind noise. We are looking at mics but its tough to pick the correct ones to suit our needs, they also cost a load of cash for decent ones😂 but we will have something in the near future hopefully. Thanks again.
You will always cause marring as you are using an abrasive this is why machine polishing is a must. Did you continue to fold the dirty clay over on itself it sounds like you have picked up some large debris in the clay.
@@HomeBuilt yeah I need to get it machine polished out at some point haha. I folded it when it got dirty and kept it lubed too, but it might’ve been because they were cheap blue clay bars off eBay 😕
Haha just caught a glimpse of it going past you were passed before I realised was like I know that car from somewhere lol 😂I was heading to wishaw for some shopping
We did have some issues with wind noise this week, we have to try and make the most of the conditions we have. We are trying to learn new ways of dealing with it for future videos.
I find it hard to watch to be honest, you spent all that time to clay bar, then you put the polishers on the ground with the mops touching the floor , not for me
@@studssmith2008 no worries, you dont have to. This channel is for getting in the drive and doing yourself, not everyone has perfect conditions, the best of gear or a degree in detailing but it doesnt mean you cant. If it was a Ferrari it would probably be done in our detailing bay with all of our top of the line kit but the whole point is to be relatable to most car enthusiasts.
First time watcher, don't forget to clay the glass especially the windscreen lads.

Thanks again Phil, I like the idea about the badge but how do you thing it would look the same colour as the car and not red 🤔
Hi it could look nice not seen one in blue this could be right time to do it
Great video as usual you and Charlie make a great team. Very informative video look forward to your great videos every week
Thanks Tam, glad you enjoy it and keep coming back we really appreciate the support.
Thanks again.

You're right about the fairy lipsquid. Just needs a good rinse and a proper dry to avoid the streaks.
I only ever use it to remove old waxes and polishes, would never leave it unprotected after a fairy wash
@@HomeBuilt agreed
Stunned at the fairly liquid. Not seen a detailer use it yet. I’ll give it a go
Only good for removing old coatings and waxes, not to be used regularly.

First time watching ur videos very informative and great points of info
Looking forward to watching more from a local in Hamilton 🏴
Awesome! Thanks mate.

I’ll give it a go mate, if they end up damaged we will just paint them so anything is worth a shot, it is pretty bad.
Thanks again
Very informative - cheers.
No problem Norman
Good informative video, thanks 👍
No problem Tim
I like the gunmetal wheels. Good job again lads.
Thanks Bill, gunmetal seems to be winning at the moment.
Great work guys 🚙🔧👍
Thanks mate
Great video guys. I'll give my car a go now. I vote for keeping the gun metal grey more classy. 😂
Thanks Ewan, good luck with your.
Just found your channel guys all the way from sunny Cambuslang..subscriber now 👍
Thanks dude, not too far from us.
Silver wheels lads
Car is looking good
Thanks Phil, I think silver will look good.
Definitely gun metal for the wheels...but then again I would do the front grill matt black so what do I know? 😜
😂 thanks for the comment Paul, I think gunmetal is the most popular choice at the moment.
Great video guys. Hello from sunny Cumbernauld 🏴
I could see the difference on the small boot area , looking good 👍
Thanks for the comment Richard, I’ve watched the video again and there is one bit where you can see it, looks great now that the whole car is done. I film the bonnet close up in tonight’s video when we put the grille back in and it looks amazing.
Good luck with your exams Charlie best wishes Greg can see you have a good future ahead of you Greg
Thanks man, realy appreciate the support 👍
You could see the difference on the boot lid once you removed the masking tape 👌 you guys made that look easy 🤣🤣
Thanks Ross, not too hard just time consuming 😂
I recommend using a led torch to reveal scratches and swerling
You can see the difference on the boot and the line on the first pass
The camera doesnt do it justice

What a difference!
Thanks honey 😘
Charlie slow this week normally gets in there with a thanks mum early on lol keep up the good work lovely family
He's been busy with his exams this week! Physics and English. And thank you that's a lovely thing to say!
More than welcome good luck to him with his exams .
Those audios are so good. Is it a pd150?
Yes mate
Good work
Thanks dude
How many clay bars can one use for a car
1 clay bar will do multiple uses if used correctly
Guys, where are you based? Lol fancy doing an st150 for me.
Blantyre mate
Imagine a re-release of that a4
These are probably the best A4 in my opinion.
Silver wheels. 100%. Coloured alloys are so 2010's now. They look bigger when they are silver too!
Thanks for commenting mate, i think we might end up going for silver .
Thanks again for watching.
Did somebody hear about the neighbours with the for sale sign up lol 😂 only messing mate
😂
Old pads seen better days 😂
🤣 I have got a new one but I like to get my moneys worth out of stuff 🤣🤣
Silver wheels !!!
Yes mate
There’s an old saying which goes “you can’t polish a turd”😂
😂 I've nevet heard that before! 🙄

@@HomeBuilt agreed but I think a mic that you clip on might help, on this video I could here the Doris in the background more 😂
Should be machine polishing inside garage ect.
Unfortunately it’s not quite big enough around the sides but I agree, if you have a big enough space do it inside.
I scratched all my bonnet after using a clay bar despite following instructions 😕 the marring and clear coat scratches look horrendous now
You will always cause marring as you are using an abrasive this is why machine polishing is a must. Did you continue to fold the dirty clay over on itself it sounds like you have picked up some large debris in the clay.

@@HomeBuilt thanks man!
Never heard of fairy liquid as a decon
19 year old Audi, man I'm old 😳🤣
Im starting to feel the same.😂
OK for a start you don't use dishwashing liquid to wash a car any professional will tell you that it ruins the paint work
Its one of the best things for stripping old coatings and waxes! I was also told that by a professional 😉
Passed the blue Audi the day I’m sure on the 71
You may have, I was doing my dads taxi duties 😂
Haha just caught a glimpse of it going past you were passed before I realised was like I know that car from somewhere lol 😂I was heading to wishaw for some shopping
Dairy
Lmfao bro used hand soap to wash the car I’m sickkkkkk
Yes mate, it’s the best thing to remove old polishes and waxes.
And bro it was dish soap 🤣🤣👍🏻
💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪💪👍👍👍😀😀😀
Thanks dude
Terrible volume and music. One second you can't hear and then the music starts blaring. Unwatchable.
We did have some issues with wind noise this week, we have to try and make the most of the conditions we have.

Gun metal 100% not even close
Its now got Porsche Macan wheels on it 😁

ffs get rid of the annoying music!
Most people like the music so we keep it
