  • Welcome to the Meguiar's TH-cam Channel.
Patrick, our resident videographer and photographer has been with us 5 months now and has NO IDEA how to take care of his car.
Many people like Patrick can sometimes get lost in the sea of car care products. What do I wash my car with? How can I keep it clean after I've washed it? It's the simple things that we want to help and educate you on.
So, introducing "Detailing 101". A step by step guide on the basics of car care, featuring Patrick and his BMW E36. During this series you'll see us educate Patrick on the most simple ways to Wash, Clean & Prep, Polish, Protection and Maintain his car.
Our aim is to share with you the simplest forms of car care, whether you're a non car guy, a car enthusiast, or someone that just wants to further their knowledge about detailing or the Meguiar's product range.
In this weeks episode Dale shows Patch just how easy it is to use our Dual Action Polisher, the MT320.
When it comes to machine polishing there is a concern that one might damage the paint or it's only meant for professional use. Well today we bust those myths and show you just how easy it is to use a machine polisher as well how to use it with the correct speeds and movements in order to get a flawless finish on your paint using our Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Wax.
If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment on the video or for any technical advise you can contact us on our social media platforms or via the contact us direct page on our website.

Great job everyone. One favor though. Although the slow motion and fast motion may look cool, it doesn't help us at home. We are watching to see the speed that you are actually moving the machine around. We can't tell that if you keep showing slow motion/fast motion. Better to just keep it on real time speed. Thank you!

They have mentioned on another video 1 inch per second. Some that helps.

Hey dude Ive been polishing cars for 20 years and when you do it in slow motion with this Da machine its to make the pad rotate only for renovating the paint with the right pad.And when you move it faster and more slightly its for polishing.

Have you heard the talk about - Schallingora Dexterous Programme Scheme (erm, check it on google should be there)? Polishing is easy... but it’s also easy to fuck it all up....and it happens quickly if you are using the wrong compounds or techniques... I own a Ford Raptor... I practiced on my other vehicles first and was glad I did... I’ve got an old white 2012 e250. Did it first on that .. but white isn’t a great color for polishing I have a 2002 dodge Dakota sport. Red... that was great for practice... then I went at the raptor... tuxedo black... awesome

Well explained. The slowest speed is actually one that gets the job done fast. I'm thinking that's more for the professional who is trying to make a living. The home guy would rather take his time - even though this dual action is supposed to prevent burning through, it still will burn through if you dwell too long in one area, because those machines go relatively fast.

    Great video.
Could you polish over some vinyl bonnet strips?
Also, would you do this process on a 50 year old VW?
    Thanks

Excellent video. How much of the compound (in bottle) do you end-up using per full polish? One full bottle, 1/2 a bottle or more?
Are there specific soaps/shampoos to use before the decontamination?
This is a super video and I liked it so much! Does the product that's applied at the end have paint protection? If so, how long is the protection?
So, the way I understood the overall application of the products is that you do the first application once a year. In the case of this car, the three products are used one after the other. Thereafter, you will only use the last two products twice per year and then after only the last product is used, correct?

Great work great product, would it be possible if you could do a video using the same product on a white car, cos I think it difficult to see swirlmarks on a white car. Thanks guys great work.

Super useful video! Thank you. Few questions - can you wash the pads after and use them again, or are they single-use? Also, how many times can you do this before damaging/thinning the clear coat? I did a small trial polish to remove a few light scratches, it worked great. I wanted to do it again, but for the entire car this time. Should I space the procedures out some?

You can absolutely wash the pads for re-use. Just let them air dry.

great video!, so for people who can't do it indoors like me, i don't have a big enough garden or have a garage. i only can do it out front of house or back. So i take it will be ok outside? depending on weather, but take it not to be hot outside or in sun
    ?
