This is called "Buddy Burner" and it's an old thing. Just use candle wax leftovers, your amazon boxes and empty tuna cans. Free ermergency burners. Have a few of those in my cellar for years.

I was a Boy Scout in Brazil and for us, this is called "espiriteira", it's important to make one for camping since wood can get wet and it takes some time to dry and this way you can easily boil water to cook something above it (you usually prep this before the camping and have something like a metal support abobe for the pan) it's a pretty good item and it takes a lot of time to use one entirelly
