@@epicautomotivedetailing I think everything was! When I was looking for a machine polisher, all that was around at the time was a Porter Cable, but it was 110V so you also needed a trandformer. Meguiar's brought out a DA machine, which I bought. I'm on my 3rd set of bushes for it now. The choices for compounds, polishes, waxes, sealants etc, pads & machines must be bewildering for a novice. This High un Dry kit is terrific value and great for a novice to cut their teeth on!

All i am looking for is a car polisher and pads and to be able to polish the swirls out of my paint work and what compound to use and TH-cam sadly has a hundreds of opinions all different to one and other which leaves me baffled to say the least but watching you i get a great idea of what to look at buying and also how to do the paint correction .

be careful late at night when on detailing websites, its a deep rabbit hole with all the polishes and pads! Once poke your head over the edge and look in, there's no helping us!! enjoy it and well done for giving it a go. I was bricking it having never done anything like that before, (i went in with a wet sand, i mean go big or go home and i was already at home, so...) but realised after an hour or so i was't going to burn through the soft paint on at the first opportunity and wreck it. the sanding, ermmm prob no the best idea on your first time out but results were fab.

Amazing work! Just the Hyundai name would give me confidence that this machine will never go wrong and last a long time. This video shows that there are some real gems if you look around, £22.50 without discount for 40 quality microfibres is a stunning deal. The polisher looks good too, I might look at purchasing this next time, but then again, my 9-year-old Kestrel Deltalyo DAS-6 Pro 850w is still happily and reliably performing daily paint corrections on typically hard paintwork on approved used stock at the Volkswagen dealership I'm based at (well, maybe I like the vibrations!)

Thanks for the video. After years of hand polishing (and sometimes struggling to make any impact on some swirls) I recently bought a budget DA polisher. Used it for the first time a few week's ago on my son's 11 year olf metallic black Fiesta. Compounded and polished the bonnet, then just polished the remainder of the car before waxing. It looks amazing compared to hand polishing, and the flecks in the paint really pop.

Buying budget tools to start out may seem like a false economy, but when you're starting a business on a budget, having these quality budget tools available is a life saver to someone starting out. Ive been using a Das6 (non pro) for thrree years, absolutely gutless and stalls at the smallest bit of pressure or concave surface - perfect for one stage gloss-up and i learnt a lot using it - I've used it for 100s of hours and never damaged anything, im sure its impossible with a fine compound and polishing pad if you keep it away from edges and let the rotation disctate the speed with no pressure. I've just bought a Makita cordless 15mm throw now i have the word spreading, but my 3" polisher has been my go to for everything (EX803) Takes longer but better results for me anyway, just abetter machine. Im a massive Hyundai fan (for anyone not aware they've been industrial manufaturers, not just cars: air con units, pressure washers etc. ) . Car, compressor, both been superb. I'm sure this polisher would last you and a great option to start. You covered all great points as usual. My tip is to make the space you are polishing using six times the size of the pad you are using., then you get consistency across the vehicle. But for beginners dont get stuck in the detail and don't be scared to try. (Kia is the Hyundai sister company for anyone who didn't know)

Ive been machine polishing for over 25 years, Started off with rotary back in the 90s and stuck with it until about 2017 when i was tempted with the 'long throw' hype into buying the Flex XFE DA. Going from the rotary to DA i found it useless for anything but very light polishing and finishing. The stalling on the slightest curve is annoying as hell and you spend more time trying to keep the pad spinning than you do doing any meaningful work. About 6 months ago i bought the Flex XCE forced rotation machine and i only wished id bought one years ago. I can knock out a large sized car in 2 hours. You can rip through cars with the forced rotation machines, i love it.

    • @johnmelling9950
      @johnmelling9950 ปีที่แล้ว

@epicautomotivedetailing trust me pal, just buy one. I'd started to dread machine polishing jobs because it took so long, but since I've been using the forced rotation machine, I've started to love it again. Get yourself some 3D Speed and ONE compounds as well, you wont regret it. Only thing I'd say is the forced rotation feels a little erratic at first as it can walk away from where you want it to go but stick with it and you'll master it after a few uses. You hardly ever need to get out the smaller polisher either as the forced rotation can tackle almost every part of the car. You can even tackle larger sections of the car as well rather than just the usual 18 inch squares at a time. If I'm in a rush to get a job done I'll take a whole half of a bonnet in one go and just rip through it on speed 6.

    • @epicautomotivedetailing

    • @johnmelling9950

@epicautomotivedetailing I still have a Flex rotary but only use it with a wool pad for taking out deep, heavy scratches. I then switch to the forced rotation to buff out the rest of the car. I also have a little Milwaukee m12 battery polisher for doing spot repairs, and that's a really handy little machine for isolated scratches and scuffs. I've got about 6 different polishers in my van, lol. My worst buy was a nano polisher. You need lots of high end detailing jobs to get any use out of them.

The yellow pad is softest, then the black with the orange being the firmest in my package. I have just opened the delivery today (purchased 11/11/23) and given no experience I will need to call into an auto shop to compare pads and determine which pads are correct or wrong.

I have a rotary polisher, bought from Machine Mart before you were born 🤣😁😂. Seriously my best mate used to spray cars 30 years ago, and that polisher was the only make I ever saw, I have one somewhere in the garage along with a load of pads. The Hyundai looks perfect for us who polish a car 2/3 times a year, as an engineer I spend a fortune on tools, I buy the best makes, the most expensive stuff ( my 5 screwdrivers cost £230 ) but the most common tool I use is a cheap Homebase own brand flathead screwdriver I found somewhere, and you know what, it’s great 👍
I may buy this, at that price it’s kind of hard to say no to, one thing, can you get smaller pads for it, that’s the one thing I’d like as a weekend warrior.

Hey Bro. I absolutely love your videos and hope to see you one day in person. I am looking into buying a car polishing machine and some products with it. I have never polished my car before or in fact any car in the past. My cars are a bit expensive so don't want to buy something that would harm them more than fixing their paintwork. Could you please recommend a polish machine and the product I should use with it including pads etc? I am not into the business but need it for my personal use and maybe for friends' and families' cars over the weekends. Some have recommended DA8 and others have recommended SPTA 900w Eccentric Polisher, What is your recommendation or if you do recommend the same, which one should I go for?
I am really confused, please help. Your answer will not only shine my car but also my life but if I die and you ignore my question, I will haunt you everywhere and will scratch every car that you polish to make your life a misery ;)

Im a UK based mobile detailer.
Ive got 2 DAS6 polishers from different manufacturers.... Both 900w
Ive been using the same £60 no name polisher for the last 14 years!
The no name ... Really there is no name labels.... Awesome polisher. Instant start. Does the job and makes a racket. I have music and headphones so meh.
Takes 8x5x14mm brushes. (Dont buy the Chinese brushes that cost £1, You'll need 2 or 3 sets of brushes per car if you do!)
The other is a Draper.. Allegidly 900w. Totally gutless and soft start.
I bought it as a 'Oh crap. I need a polisher and No1 has just eaten its last set of brushes and they are not here yet'
It lives in the van, only gets used as an emergency.

Question, i currently use Ultimate compound to remove scratches and buff faded headlights after sanding, but can anyone recommend a finishing compound with no fillers or glazes in it to complement what i already use? Mostly to improve gloss, remove any haze left over from the ultimate compound and basically afterward ready for a wipe down before Fusso or a ceramic coating? Preferably more budget friendly too
