My name is Rod Jones. I'm a 5th generation farmer and KC-135 pilot in the Ohio Air National Guard.
I was Active Duty Air Force for 16 years and have been with the Ohio Air National Guard for 4 years.

Just found your channel a few days ago and I luv it! I'm a long time aircraft dispatcher and part of our requirements from the FAA is an annual observation ride.
Due medical issues I'm grounded so the company and FAA have allowed me to do the SIM last 5 years. Riding out on the line was fine but I enjoy the SIM much more as I get to see things there I would never get to see otherwise! We even tried a Sully engines out after bird strike on a 757 and we too ended up in the water. I look forward to more of your videos!
Yes the suns nowadays can be pretty realistic. That's good that they let you get some sim time!

That sim is awesome I always wanted to try one especially a scenario like since I have no pilot training see if I could land the plane by someone telling me what to do over the radio lol thanks for sharing buddy hope you get to your follower goal and way past it you deserve it such a great channel again thanks god bless
With the right instruction, I guarantee you could land it Scrotie!
If the pilots ever become incapacitated while you're on a commercial airliner, and the flight attendants ask for someone with flying experience, you just raise your hand and tell them you're subscribed to Ohio Flying Farmer. It'll be all good!

Really enjoy the content whether it be cows or planes! That Sim was as real as it gets without the real thing.
Sometimes we are allowed to take friends and family into the sim, and they usually leave the sim sweating because it is so realistic!

Thanks Kevin! I try to explain things when I can, but sometimes it's difficult especially when I'm trying to keep the videos within a certain length of time.

Interesting getting to both the inside and outside of the simulator in operation. Seems normal to only show the trainer shut down and parked when outside it. Not up and running and moving around.
Not sure I understand your comment.
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 Most times the outside simulator is shown its parked and the hydrologic compressed. Vs you showing the cylinders extend and the unit move around from the outside as people where inside flying.
Yeah I wanted to show the hydraulics in action. To me, that's just as interesting as the inside.

So… at the risk of sounding like a dumb ass; I’m prior AF and my duty stations (Fairchild & Upper Heyford) had on site sims. Is that standard?
Not a dumb question at all!
There are a lot of tanker bases and a limited number of sims.
So no, not all tanker bases have a simulator.
