My former neighbours son flew C-17 Globemasters in the US Airforce. I was a US Navy A-6 Intruder plane captain in the early to mid 1970’s. I’m from SW Minnesota.
You don’t have to apologize for the video. We can see the work that goes into making them and doing your job at the same time. Thanks for another great Video. AMERICA right back to you. This is the greatest country in the world.
Good to see y’all Ron. Crazy mom cows will try to hurt you but you love it because they will protect their calves at all costs. Thanks for your service. See y’all next time.
Shared your site with Reserve Pilots down here in South Carolina who fly cargo. Bought them breakfast and while they were eating they subscribed. You are big influence to citizen soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines. You are the backbone of this country despite Wash leaders.
Good morning Rod, you have nothing to apologize for. When you said plan B for the crazy cow and then start the dump truck for a second I thought you were going to run it over. Lmao. Another great video of real farming.
No Sir I watch for both farming and planes your videos are what really happens not some glassed over Hollywood film that doesn’t show the truth. Keep doing exactly what you and your family are doing that’s what made AMERICA great Sir.
No apologies necessary. Working cattle is a tough job and you do what you have to do to get it done. Thank you for your service and your videos and may God bless.
Damn, never thought flying KC-135R could be the easiest part of someone's week, but you've certainly got me thinking that way! (Tips hat, salutes smartly)
It’s always a challenge catching and tagging calfs .but good video it shows how it’s done in real life . I am new subscriber here but use to farm and raze beef .always like the f1 cross Hereford and angus . I am since retired and tired take care and enjoy your time and surroundings .
Thanks for giving me a try David! Most of our cows are angus. We have 6 angus bulls and one hereford. We will be purchasing a couple new bulls in about a month. Not sure which breed we'll go with, but I really like our hereford bull. We've had him for two breeding seasons, and he's thrown some really nice calves.
Brings back a lot of memories of chasing down cows and calves. Most of ours were fairly docile but some were bezerkers like that one you chased. Our place in Mississippi had a lot of hills and hollers and several miles of fence mainly in the woods, but we didn’t have any vehicles that could go in those areas so it was “tote” all the stuff. Nearly all my spring holidays were spent fixing fence.
We have a few of those areas too. One of my big goals is to make all of our fence lines reachable with at least a UTV. It will take years to complete, but worth the effort. Really sucks making multiple trips up and down ravines, dragging posts.
Thank you sir. Sonne Farms South Dakota TH-camr young man does a great job with his dad. Pretty similar situation cattle and grain Like most of us mid Midwest
Oooooo my, the memories your fence mending brings back. You guys mend fences like my dad did. I recall all too well wading through the saw briars in that process!!!
I remember those days of chasing the crazy ones and the next year they were gone! Your farm was just like ours hills and bottoms. Great seeing those little ones though, I loved that time of year. Great video!😊
Appreciate your sharing parts of your life. I can tell by your demeanor that you are a private individual and at times the self induced invasion of privacy is uncomfortable. We share a common interest in farming and flying.
I guess I was totally wrong thinking only a Bull would charge like that. I was worried for a second but also knew you do this all the time. As always thanks for bringing us along with you and glad to see y'all are doing well. If I lived a little bit closer I'd come and film in a heartbeat unfortunately I'm in Fairborn. I miss the days of being on my grandma's farm to be honest.
Thanks Kevin! I probably could've walked right up and pet this cow a few weeks ago. Some are very protective of their young. Not necessarily a bad thing, especially since we have plenty of coyotes and a few bobcats in the area.
Great video Rod. And IMO, if someone complains about this video quality. Means they have never worked cows. Just like that old man said once. Raise cows he said. It will be fun he said. LOL.
Thats ranching buddy. I am retired and an air force security veteran, if I was in Ohio, I would volunteer to come out and run your gopro for ya. Ranching/farming and serving the country in the armed forces, now thats America buddy. I can not think of a more honorable life than providing food for our nation, and serving in the military to protect our freedom. Corporate farmers don't feed a country, small farmers and ranchers do. One person in the military doesn't protect our freedom, many men and women, working as a team protect our freedom. Ranchers/farmers set out on a mission priority everyday, just like military men and women. Some days, the best of planning don't always work out. As has always been said, best laid plans all go down the tubes as soon as the op begins sometimes. So ya pull back, regroup and go another day. There is almost always one crazy cow that makes ya put out that extra effort and sometimes, makes ya lean back and say why am I even doing this. But we all know why we do it, and its not because its easy. We do it because of the pride of responsibility and we take ownership in that with the utmost pride and honor. Catch ya on the next video, maybe some flight time, maybe not.
Take it from a horse owner, don't get horses 😂 Do you get the twitch in the corner of your eye when banding those bull calves Rod? Seems like a natural reaction for men when gelding horses. O-H
It is just a simple plastic clip that prevents the calf from sucking in his testicles. They are only around $5, but my cousin said they charged him $30 to ship it!
You're prob right. But those aggressive cows come in handy when there are predators in the area. We won't have to worry about that calf getting attacked by coyotes or bobcats.

You got that right Sir! I've been all over the world. There's no place like the good ol' US of A!
Good to see y’all Ron. Crazy mom cows will try to hurt you but you love it because they will protect their calves at all costs. Thanks for your service. See y’all next time.
Yep! We won't have to worry about that calf getting attacked by coyotes or bobcats.
Years ago I spent a lot of time building fence just like that in the hills of southeastern Ohio.
Great times for sure! Or something like that.......
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 The late 50s, early 60s were tough times but I wouldn't give up those memories for anything.
Just retired last year. I will miss the cows and calves. But won't miss the work that goes along with the farm.
I enjoy the work. I don't enjoy the mean cows though.
Did a great job.
Shared your site with Reserve Pilots down here in South Carolina who fly cargo. Bought them breakfast and while they were eating they subscribed. You are big influence to citizen soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines. You are the backbone of this country despite Wash leaders.
Thanks for spreading the word Sir!
No apologies needed. That’s just real life. Love the videos they are all awesome!
Thanks Doug!
Good morning Rod, you have nothing to apologize for. When you said plan B for the crazy cow and then start the dump truck for a second I thought you were going to run it over. Lmao. Another great video of real farming.
My family had polled herefords so watching brings back some not so fond memories. Thanks alot. Lmao
Ha! For a brief moment, I wanted to!
No Sir I watch for both farming and planes your videos are what really happens not some glassed over Hollywood film that doesn’t show the truth. Keep doing exactly what you and your family are doing that’s what made AMERICA great Sir.
Thanks again Caesar!
Great video, Rod! I don't think I can do all that running, otherwise I'd certainly swing a camera for you.
I could hook you up with a UTV!
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 I like the sounds of that! Let's talk!
No apology necessary. You worked your ass off to make us viewers another great video.
Thanks Bob! We definitely get our share of physical activity around here!

Thank you for the comment! It definitely takes some work to put that steak or hamburger on a dinner plate!

I enjoy it all! I'm pretty fortunate to be able to do what I do!

Awesome video!!
I’m proud of you. You can still run pretty darn good
Gosh…. Can’t wait til that calf catcher gets here! I worry about my guys around those crazy moms. The cattle look beautiful! 🥰
Thanks Mom!❤️
Enjoy your videos. We live about 60 miles east of you in western WV so it's nice to see something close to home
Thanks Kelly!

Someday I hope to make all of our fences reachable with a UTV. Will take a lot of time, but worth it. Really sucks dragging posts up and down hollers.
Really do enjoy your videos. I have put up my post hole diggers up high in the hay mow along with the cycle
I'm thinking about getting a post pounder for a skidsteer. But they're about $10k new🤔
Good video...fencing in the woods is always fun..we had a stretch that we carried everything in to build and ba k out

Lucky to get any video as crazy as that cow was ! Good job ! Keep safe playing with those critters !
I just bought a contraption to help keep us safer. Hope to have a video of it in a few weeks when it gets here.

It is a special time of year! That cow wasn't too bad. Her aggressive attitude will come in handy with protecting her calf from predators in the area!
3/15/23 Safe travels Rod. I see you are up and over New York area.
Wasn't me, but prob one of the boys!
Still a great video that's what life on the dream is all about. Thanks for sharing buddy. Carl
Thanks again for watching Carl!
Awesome video. Like a lot of said no apologies needed. Have you tried the chest strap for GoPro?
Thank for sharing your daily adventures! 🐄🚜
I have. It works with certain situations/angles, sometimes it doesn't.

Best of luck calving. America!

Yes Sir!
Take it from a horse owner, don't get horses 😂 Do you get the twitch in the corner of your eye when banding those bull calves Rod? Seems like a natural reaction for men when gelding horses. O-H
A Honda 4-wheeler is cheaper and easier to maintain, ha!
I-O!
You don’t have any horses and lassos? 😁. Nice seeing what you do on the farm…. No apologies sir. 👍
Lol. I commented before the video was over. Heard ya about the horses.. gas guzzling horses!!
No hay burners around here!
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 I wrote that before you explained in the video. 😁 nice channel.
Really enjoy your videos. Hell you were breathin a lot less than I would...lol..chasing a cow and calf will wear your butt out
Yes, it's great exercise first thing in the morning! And a mean cow will definitely get your blood pumping!
What’s the clip part you use before applying the rubber band? Looks a handy tool to have
It is just a simple plastic clip that prevents the calf from sucking in his testicles.
They are only around $5, but my cousin said they charged him $30 to ship it!
They may get a little onery, but there's nothing like black Angus.
They are pretty to look at. But I will say they seem to get meaner every year. Not sure if it's just our herd, or the overall Angus breed.
I love to hear those girls talk...moooo
Pretty ladies aren't they!
22:18 That mama cow not crazy! If that was your mama she would do the same thing! RIGHT!!
Yes, she would prob be worse, haha!
Well it can't be the IRS as you haven't disowned her...
Good point, haha!
Good Morning,Did ya Get to Refuel any Support for the Balloon’s?
Nope! I didn't have anything to do with that operation.
What is that black tool you used to hold the testicle down before banding? That sure looked to work pretty good
It's just a clip, similar to a clothes line clip. It keeps the calf from sucking the testicles back inside them.
Yes, it is pretty handy!
I think you heed a lasso for those calves!😂
Sonne farms youTuber out of South Dakota has the right idea with ATV and a catching Cage.
I don't think I know how to throw a lasso!
I have a calf catcher on the way!
The Hired Help gets Paid in Good Meat to Eat !🎥🎥🎥
Great idea!
I’ll video record for you. I can’t promise there won’t be any heavy breathing or any better footage 😂
Haha! Thanks for the offer! Unfortunate thing is, if we had new blood show up at the farm, you'd prob be asked to put the camera down and get to work!
My sister worked for one of three letter company for 52 years. You're not to keep that crazy cow?
(
Yeah, we'll prob keep her. Aggressive cows are not always a bad thing, especially when it comes to protecting her calf from coyotes and bobcats!
👍👍👍
And passes gas🤪
Col. ,,, i have a good guess of what her new job is,, all the best to her, and the both of you have a great day,, from the retired gunner( check6)
I think I understand you better. You hurl a 50 year old gas tank to relax. Well okay then..
Working cattle is great exercise! I've never enjoyed going to the gym or running for "fun."
That cow needs to go someone might get hurt
You're prob right. But those aggressive cows come in handy when there are predators in the area. We won't have to worry about that calf getting attacked by coyotes or bobcats.
