    Refueling F22 s is already absolutely amazing and the cloud surfing and thunderstorm night shots made it even better. I thought I heard you guys on frequency a little while back while shooting approaches. As always thanks for not only serving this country but taking the time to bring us along too!

    Rod, in today's GPS world, rendezvousing with the receiver must be fairly easy. Back in the day, it required a navigator and I guess a lot of planning, both on the tanker and receiver's part. In a future video, can you explain some of the mission planning details that go into a refueling mission. The signs of a real professional is they make something complex look easy. You and your crew's professionalism make the refuelings look easy, but there's a heck of a lot of training and planning that goes into these missions. Thanks!

    • @ohioflyingfarmer7050
      @ohioflyingfarmer7050  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the comment Dave! Yes, GPS simplifies things greatly! I try to show you guys as much as I can without jeopardizing anyone's safety, but its probably best if I didn't go into specifics on how the rendezvous actually happens.

    The positioning of the refuel port on the F-22 brings it in very close!. I retired from PPG Aerospace, Sylmar, CA, (in 2010 and stopped "consulting" in 2013) who makes the canopies for the F-22.

    Another excellent video, thanks! I'm going to show my age, but the flying scenes on the cloud tops looks right out of "Dr. Strangelove." Major Kong would be proud! The F-22 fuel receptacle location seems to be in the perfect spot, much less movement with its central location vs near the nose .

Keep it up with these nice calm video's. We need those these days. Hi Rod! Thanks for your service, sir, and thanks for your videos. How often do you fly a C-130? Can you please do a video showing a walkthrough and flying one? It’s my favorite aircraft because of its size and versatility.
    On Saturday, my husband and I went to the National Museum of the Air Force at Wright Pat for advanced weather spotter training and spent the rest the day at the museum. It was the second time I’ve been there since sometime during 1994-1996. Back then it was just one building but now it’s four; it’ll take us a few days to walk through all of the buildings and do it justice. My husband and I will have to plan ahead and set aside some time to do it.

    • @ohioflyingfarmer7050
      @ohioflyingfarmer7050  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was a Navigator on C-130s 20 years ago. That was prob the last time that I have been on one.
      Generally speaking, once you are assigned to an aircraft, that will be the only airplane you fly, so I will prob never fly on a c-130 again.
