Install an intake and that’s when you’ll really notice a power & sound difference. Wooshie turbo sounds are amazing but I also recommend a cat back exhaust (personally have an Invidia Q300) and it’s a perfect set up (still stock downpipe) Basically give the car new lungs and tune it.. you’ll be amazed at the different in driveability
I got a “cell phone mount” off eBay for $6.00. It has a magnetic strip for the AP and a magnet that mounts to the AC vents. No problems at all. It’s strong
I can't decide if I want to a tomei or an accessport first. Also is that tomei crazy loud? Im a bit worried because I live in Cali. Staying stock j pipe
i've got a my16 wrx and i can't wait till i get my cobb ap and custom stage1 tune .You are so right there's no power after 4krpms but for everyday driving the stock tune is perfect but for all out power and response you need a tune for sure .keep the vids coming man ive had my rex for 2mths now i love the fa20dit
You didn't even mention the Rev hang or how different the throttle response feels. I really dislike the stock tune throttle and running the Cobb Stage 1 feels so much better. Also i get better MPG with the tune but that could also be because I'm a better driver.
I've been running the MaPerformance for a while and alot of my friends have for years with that tune and no problems and no knock . 2nd I have that mount your talking about. first thing I can tell you about it is that the one they sell on their site is not how it looks when it comes. 2nd the magnet will fall off in a few days. so I had to get some better glue and Re glue it. also my mpg stayed the same if not a little better with that tune. just my opinion . that mount is pretty easy to install and it looks more one2for sure.
I just went stage 1+ , on my 2017 wrx I got the ots tune from MAPerformance and their intake , Nd I had -9 feedback knock , why is that? Can I get some help
Yes that’s the one I got. On their site you can see the tunes. The Cobb tunes are free but the Mishimoto and other custom tunes cost money. Lowest was about $24 i think.
ZFA 20 watch the dsport videos on the stage one. The stock tune is super inconsistant. They have someone from cobb explain everything about the accessport for wrx and development and dyno results.
like others have said the M.A.P. tune is better. i ran the cobb tune for a week and went to the other tune. My .02 is save some money in case you break something and get a j pipe a boost controller and air oil separator and finally a pro tune. again my opinion. by the way i dont keep my accessport in my car ever. good luck.
Hey bruh, nice WRX. I'm still in the fence about getting one. I know you've driven it a lot more since you dropped this one. Do you feel like you gained any power, and do you still feel like it's worth it?
Thanks man, you should get one in my opinion. Great platform of a car. And yeah, the stage 1 tune def was worth it. Ive changed tunes but the video hasn’t been uploaded for that yet. Thanks for the support!
@@davidayuso2815 not what MANY people on MANY forums say. Can you provide evidence of this please. I'm really considering ap timing it. Not for loads of power, but a little and a little accessible power through rev range, so this is something I must get right. Don't have 5-8k$ to fix motor.
Great explanation. I was so discouraged after my first week with my '17 and finding out I had a brz at anything above 4k rpms. Glad to hear stage one fixes that. However, I'm still on the fence considering I doubt I'd get pro tuned anytime soon. How long do you plan on staying with the ots tune and do you think it's alright to go maybe 5-10k miles on it?
So I’m staying with the OTS not ok much longer. More parts coming in so gotta time accordingly. I’ve had it for about 1-2k miles and no issues so far. Didn’t plan on running it that long so i don’t know the effects but I swear I’ve read that some people run it all the time for a while just fine
Should’ve went with MAPerformance tune. A lot of people ran that for years without complaint and say it makes Cobb’s OTS look like a literal piece of dookie.
Im most worried of reliability and warranty. Anyone have experience and if so, what has it been like? I'm probably trading in 2 years or 40-55k miles, so as long as it doesn't hurt car in that time frame, I'm fine. I might get a beater corolla or something in case I run into issue but that's a stupid ass way to spend money.
@@jordandayball4493 I understand the legal standard. I also know in practical terms pretty much everyone get denied and don't have the financial means to wage a lawsuit against SOA. So in the end the net result is the same. If they see an AP was installed at all, or you modified the jpipe or other emissions related components like an intake, they have the contractual right to deny warranty coverage of the failures.
@@takeda1648 Cobb ots tune will NOT blow up your car I have been running Stage 2 cobb ots for 8k miles no issues stop freaking people out yes a pro tune is better but the ots maps are just fine Cobb has spent a long time getting these tunes to work properly and safe just follow the correct map for your set up ... if they blew up your car I highly doubt Cobb would be in business but guess what there one of the top now why is that you think? lol. bro dont worry about it your car is safe with ots map.

Had stage 1 tune from cobb for one week and it started knocking like crazy. Got a ots Etune from Phatbotti. My car runs way better and smoother.
Dope we both made a video about a Subaru tune! Keep up the videos man love the angles
Yessir! Thanks man, loving these tunes!

I peeped the orange Maryland tags instantly
Have a 2017 wrx , getting my accessport soon . Great video
My DAM dropped like crazy with Cobb stage 1 and I missed the low end torque. I honestly prefer stage 0.
Nice video man, excited to see what you do next. I’ve had lots of fun with mine.
Thanks for watching and supporting the content! And niiice, they’re great for mods
I can't decide if I want to a tomei or an accessport first. Also is that tomei crazy loud? Im a bit worried because I live in Cali. Staying stock j pipe
It’s def not crazy loud. I have stock DP, it’s more quiet than muffler deletes. But if you add a catless DP, then it’s game over. RIP neighborhood
Lyle Slaphaus u need the AP before u get ur exhaust u need to tune it when u buy the exhaust
You don't need a tune for a catback, you need one once you change the j-pipe

I hope you hit 5k 🤞
