It is amazing how much better the car operated from factory after flashing it to a new map! Soo freaking happy I got an access port. The car breathes so much better and runs better. No hinderance to my MPG either. Must buy if you own a Subie

I’m a old truck guy, I own 8 of them but ever since I got my Subaru I’ve been watching your videos. Other than about 800 miles on a $500 Honda I bought last year all my time behind the wheel is in trucks so I’m really excited to finally have a car I really like! Do all these values generally apply to my ‘98 Subaru? I know that’s pretty old for all these cars but to be quite honest, this is my first OBD2 vehicle and I’m not used to being able to plug stuff into the vehicles computer lolol

Can anybody explain in their words what is this Feedback Knock? New to this words terms on high tiers cars. Thanks in advance!
Feedback knock is when thr knock sensor picks up on detonation. Essentially the ECu detects combustion events when they shouldent be happening. Detonation will destroy the gas layer protecting thr piston and the valves, the extreme heat from thr k oak event is what leads to burnt valves and broken ringlands 🙏

Thank god for this video. I rarely rarely get a 1.40 FKLN and today I looked over and seen that and about had a heart attack. The cars got the stage 1 tune w/Cobb intake and never really beat on it so I was like “wtf” but now that I know it’s possible phantom or just normal. 100k miles still running great thanks to a lot of your mod recommendations. @@tyger2000 I agree with tanner with his question if it was only a 1 time deal. I’d like to add. Was it under normal driving conditions? Did you almost stall that day? What other mods are being ran? And was the tune with those mods included, Bc that’s a big adjustment.
Sometimes if you monitor the heart attack box (Cobb tuner) sometimes you will see the way you drive or mistakes in the driving sometimes trigger the ecu to adjust for that very mistake.

Thanks to AP we tune our own car and it really brought out lots of power and made it way faster. Its very fun to mess around with and feel the differences.

Found a nice donor at the junkyard last week. Scooped a sick Kenwood headunit someone uninstalled and just left in there as well as a new center console lid. Went back today and got the driver window regulator w/ motor that I suspect I need for the FXT, which someone also uninstalled and left there. Hey, less work I have to do right? And as a bonus a g35 sedan in my exact rare color was in there. Gonna grab a door or two and a fender over the next few days.

Great video and perfect timing. My AP and intake came in the mail and I went for a mountain drive today:) it’s not fast but it’s way more fun to drive with more turbo noises! I forgot how much I missed them, I could even hear the wastegate opening a couple times on WOT. Anyway You showed me more about how to use it than the instructions the AP came with. Thx🤙

May get one of these if the opportunity arises, but I'm fine without the anxiety port too xD. Still gotta get my ECU unlocked and a tune in, but I'm at about 300 miles on the RA block, oil change after I got home from the builder. (120 mi). I figure I'll probably do the oil change at 5-600 miles once more with conventional 10w-30 and then throw in the Motul X-cess Gen 2 and Purolator filter I picked up (at 1000)! I can't wait for my break in period to be over but I don't wanna just throw away money just driving for solely that reason 😂. Can't be throwing away money when you got a wife and kid lol

On behalf of my girlfriend I just had an access port installed last night.. Both her dam and feedback knock are reading 0.0 and never change throughout the day.. shouldn’t there be some value reading any at all??

When you first flash a map on it is not uncommon to see 0s
hey man, I just bought a 2006 WRX STI. it had an existing Evap leak that I fixed, I had to unplug the battery and pull the alternator to get to it. Previously the car never knocked over -4.0, now I see a value of -11.0 when I come up a hill. Just cruising, no boost, going ~60-65 in sixth gear. any suggestions?
Hey Tanner. I have a 2020 Sti with 30K and recently had a Cobb SF intake, IAG AOS, cylinder 4 cooling mod and Cobb Accessport installed with a pro tune. In the past 2 days the AP has recorded a fine knock learn of -6.90 and -7. The feedback knock has not gone over -4.20 and my DAM has stayed at 1 at all times. Any reason to be concerned with the fine knock learn numbers? Thanks

My 17 sti is stock (to the best of my knowledge) I plugged in the accessport and chose the stage 0 map and my dam is showing .5

I have an 04(so 1-16 DAM). I was driving normally this friday and i was slowly speeding up on the highway. Didnt even hit boost. And my DAM dropped to 4. No Feedback knock or anything. This is the second time its done this. First time, it went bacl to 16 within 40 miles. Very strange. Gonna do a smoke test for evap leaks this weekend
I've had similar happen before. Sometimes it's just a hiccup in thr tune
@@Smeedia well that makes me feel a bit better lol. Makes no sense to me. I did put a newer turbo(same vf39)/ewg(same spring as the oem iwg) since its been tuned. It hit 0psi and yeeted. Could just be hitting boost more efficiently with the ewg. And it pissed the car off. Looking to get it tuned again.
Once I install one will it come on when I start the car or do I gotta let it load on accessory then start the car?

Hey Tanner, my brother just got the accessport and big sf intake from cobb for his 2016 wrx. Installed the intake (which is the only mod, everything else is stock) and is running the stage 1+ tune which according to Cobbs map notes on their website is the tune for just an intake. Over the course of the past few days his DAM has dropped down to .375. The only feedback knock he is getting is the occasional 1.41 except one time he said he saw 11 something but it was only once when he got on it and it hasn't happened again. I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to why the DAM is so low? Thanks for all the content and I am so glad to see you have blue back in your garage! Sad to see Karma go but excited to see where you're going with your adventures in getting a shop and all. Thanks again!
Try resetting ECU learning
Let the car isle for 10 minutes without bliping the throttle

Funny that this was posted two days after I've had my first DAM drop in years. It's down to .750 on my 17 WRX, and hasn't gone back to 1 even after refilling my tank from a different gas station. Keep getting fine knock learn of -3.16 at WOT around 5k RPMs, with a +0.35 value coming in on mild throttle while cruising around 2.5k RPMs. Really stumped as to how much longer its going to take to get this DAM back to 1. This is on an OTS E30 map btw.

@@Smeedia MAPerformance. Stage 1 E30 map. No feedback knock during WOT either, just still seeing fine knock learn values accumulate in the same rev ranges over time.
I wish the PCM in the cobalts had the fine knock learning, would make things so much easier while tuning. Fighting tip in knock and knock going into boost unfortunately lol, but that's likely attributed to our fantastic Canadian moose piss gas 😂

@@Smeedia maybe out west, on the east coast the best we got is 91, which even then, is only about as good as say 87/89 in Alberta

Someone I know at work asked if I want to buy his cobb from him. What do I need to check before buying it from them? I believe they had a ford focus before their Jetta currently. Is the Cobb device able to be switched between different makes of cars after it is reset?
How many hp you’ll get from a AccessPort a Cobb air intake on a stock STI. On 93 ?

It's more about getting rid of rev hang, and a more linear feeling sti as far as the accessport goes. Intake gives you a little bump, but sounds really cool
Super helpful video since i just got my 14 hatch and is there like Subaru forums where I can ask questions? My hatch got the engine replaced with the 2.0 liter instead of 2.5 and I wanted to buy a tomiei exhaust but not sure if I could just buy the exhaust made for the ej25 or I had to get a different one.

hello, when I follow the setting of the features( launch control) I can not change the rpm. I press the change launch control it just returns to the features. Then when I rev the motor it just goes to 7000 8000 plus it cant be set to .....what can I do?

i just installed my intake with access port from cobb today and after they program it, my DAM is actually 0.938/0.938. I'm new to this OTS tunes. Do I have to be worried about anything?
Let the ecu learn a little and it should pop up to 1, it's not uncommon to see less than 1 after a reflash

Everyone has been tuning off COBB access port. I've recently put catback R400 on my 2018 STI and soon be doing CSF intake and downpipe. Does dyno tune give more hp gain as opposed to COBB access port tune? If dyno tune is done, do I even need access port?

@smeedia yoo! I just got my tuned and they installed the Accessport for me because i didn't know how the previous owner tuned the car and i had no AC with it to be safe. Question is, what happens when you reflash? I want to do Launch Control but the faq says i need to reflash after changing the rpm settings for it to work. The tuner just added their custom tune and i see it in the AC and an option to reflash. What is a reflash?

I just installed iag aos and now my AF Snes 1 Ratio is usually around 14.7 but I have seen it go down to 11 and up to 20 now. What would cause that?

You'll need the program accesstuner, Cobb sells it for about $100
Purchased a wrx from the dealership and previousl owner tells me it has stage two upgrades idk what any of that means help
Stage two typically means it has a down pipe and an accessport 🙏

I just bought a used 2018 Sti from a car dealer.
I have driven it about 500-600 miles and the other day I noticed dark stains looked like oil with dirt mixed stuck on, near where the Y pipe meets the turbo. Should I be concerned….?
I'd inspect around for leaks, sounds like it may be the valve cover 🤙

Do I need to reflash the car in order to install the accessport or is it plug and play automatically does the live data reading? I bought a car and it has a stage 2 tune and I want to look at how the car is performing. Can the accessport identify the tune? My plan is going stage 3 but as of now I want to see how the car is doing
You'll need to reflash, but you can monitor all data live. 🙏

So i have a Super Dumb Question on Flat Foot Shifting, I have a 17STI and i have FFS set to 5500 RPM, however when i floor it (accel 100%) it goes well past 5500RPM, does FFS only activate once i push the clutch in to shift similar to LC or should it not pass 5500RPM? Do i need to be floored for it to activate? Thanks!
Not dumb at all! So the FFS limiter will keep the car from over revving past whatever it is you set it to while your shifting and yes needs to be floored 🙏

@@Smeedia I’m running a Accessport, Grimmspeed AOS, Boomba Bpv, Cobb SF intake with air box, Sprint booster V3 controller, and a invidia exhaust. I bought it like that and I just got in contact with the previous owner and he said he never went in for a tune so I’m certain that is the issue. I just had it on the ots stage 1+SF 91 v400 boost select map. I’m a delivery driver so I use it as a daily, do you think ill be good to drive around in it till I can get a tune on it here in a couple weeks or so?

so I got a value of -7 for feedback knock for a split second and then went back to 0 and at WOT, the value was still 0. The Dyn didn't drop at all. This was around a month ago and it hasn't happened since, I shouldn't be concerned should I?

Is there anywhere either on your videos or on the internet that I can get a full mod list from stock to this type of HP of all parts. I’m FBO stock turbo but going this way. But other than turbo, rotated kit, built long block, radium dual hanger pump set up and bigger injectors but what else do I need to buy. I’m lost lol

Should be fine, but why not just use the 93 tune?
@@Smeediaits not me. I was on reddit and a few people agreed to do that because I guess they were saying the 91 tune on 93 gas acts as a more “safety cushioned” tune than the 93 tune on 93 fuel.

@@Smeedia on a mainline dynolog chassis dyno don’t know what software he uses to access the ECU he is my tuner I trust in 100% so I’ve never asked just curious to know
If you did use an accessport it would over write the tune and need to be re tuned

Whats a safe high coolant temp to read for the closed deck? It seems to read high on the ap but no temp rise on the dash.
Mine doesn't go past 207* fans kick on at 205 and drop it

Try reloading the map back onto the ecu
