Stage 1+ definitely helps with the rev hang but does not eliminate it… I think you will need a pro tune for that. Also heard a light weight flywheel and upgraded clutch helps too. It’s not just wrx my buddy has 2010 SI and also has a rev hang, good ole emissions.
hey man idk if you’ll see this comment but you did the grimmspeed stealth box with the COBB stage 1+ (big sf) and it ran good? I’m reading thousands of things saying you need COBBS intake but some things say grimmspeed works?
It ran really rich with the big SF tune. With the big SF tune it would misfire once in awhile. I switched to the 91 octane Cobb OTS tune for a stock intake and had no issues. Car ran perfect no misfires or feedback knock. AFR was at 11:1-11.3
Not saying there is no diff I am sure there is but also - The Kid just got his car and cant drive it as well yet. Guy has stage 1 been driving his car a lot longer time.
Exactly what I was thinking. They're sensitive cars. Right parts right tune = no problems. I'm a first time wrx owner and every time I want to do something to it I email the company and cobb to see if it's a problem. Here soon I'll need a protune but shit ppl. U wonder why ur shit breaks
@@dysfunctionalveteran2510 100%. I’ve been stage 2 for almost 2 years without a issue. It’s very important to not use the ots map, if the parts are not identical. I went with Bren tuning and I’ve never looked back. Oil change at 3k, plus longevity mods and you won’t have any problems.

First mod You should do is access-port. Then I’d definitely go j-pipe and tmic along with e30 e-tune or pro tune if you can. That’s all you need for these cars. If you wanna get a little crazy you can buy a flex fuel sensor kit along with fuel pump then go flex tune. That’ll put you around 360-380whp easy with just j-pipe, tmic, and e85 along with tuning.
@@ZFA1738 New to the game, 2020 WRX owner. 2k miles on it. Really like it but thinking more about tunes... access-port is... OTS right? Still decent to do? I just keep hearing stories either way.

Blue wrx had -5hp for looking like typical stoner subie driver.
I'm sure a sticker will help combat that HP loss hahaha

Would like to see a WRX stage 1+ against a stock STi. That would be prettttty interesting!

Stock wrx running e85 will smash a stock sti.
From factory if driven perfectly the stock wrx is faster than the sti

E30 wins
Does the stage 1 help on gas too?
For my WRX, The stage 1 tune had no affect on my fuel economy, still get 27-31 mpg depending on how I drive.
i thought you couldnr run the sf tune with any other intake than the cobb intake
I wouldn't recommend it. My wrx ran better with the grimmspeed intake on and only running the non SF tunes
A huge difference in power. Awesome review boys. 👍
Just picked it up from the dealership.... no big deal! 😆😆😆😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Does the tuning mess up anything in the long run for daily driving? I just want to get rid of the rev hang.
I did 60k miles on my wrx with a Cobb OTS tune. Never had issues.

I agree, it definitely impacted the dig races but the roll races are pretty straight forward.
Does the carb stage 1 come with a intake?
No, Only stage 1 plus includes the big SF intake
THAT TUNE IS FOR COBB SF INTAKE ONLY , NOT A GS INTAKE YOUR MAF SCALING IS WRONG

Sorry bro lol

Where is boost at on both of them?
Stock boost levels. 15-16 psi and peak at 22psi
A stage 1 map doesnt not make you pull car lengths on a stock wrx. Driver mod.
A stage 1 map for a focus st made it pull car lengths on my stock wrx so why the hell not if stage 1plus?
And no it was not driver mod in my case I've spanked plenty of people in 60000 dollar cars in my stage 2 gti with 270hp this car just fucking slow dog
no it definitely does
stage 1+ wrx will spank a stock sti even

I can confirm, it was a manual.
keep the wrx vids coming man .Can you do a 0-60 vid
Yes, I can make a video of this soon
How do you like the grimmspeed CAI?
I’m happy with it. Cheaper price, easy install, sounds amazing. And my IAT stay pretty close to ambient temperatures ( approx +10F worse case)
I like how the music was too loud and the voices were too quiet. At least the music sucked.
Stage 2 gapped my accord🥲
Is stage 1 worth it
Yes the Cobb OTS tune really cleans up the throttle feel and definitely wakes the car up after 4K RPM. I say it’s worth the money
