    Hello, great review I will be running a Nvidia 3070 card and bit concerned about the gsync compatibility with it. Just seems like a great price at the moment from the UK dell store, feel like it's worth the risk when factoring the price and it being an all rounder! Any other screens you would recommend for my graphics card? Doesn't have to be an ultrawide and around the £300-£400 budget.

    • @RobsCorner
      @RobsCorner  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Lewis,.great question if you are really concerned about gsync issue and are looking at other monitors I use a s2721dgf for FPS games it's 1440p 165hz and gsync compatible no issues with it. That being said ultrawdie is very nice to have and depending on what games you play and what fps you are getting if gsync compatibility is more important.

      There extremely similar, samsung has slightly betterax refresh rate at 165hz but vs 144hz on the dell it's not a big difference. The g5 is more curved than the dell so it's a preference thing. Price will play a big factor since they are almost the same specs. I haven't tested the g5 but from my research if price is the same I would take the Dell for the simple reason that you have better features like PIP , usb hub built in but for me the fact that the G5 has an external power brick is a deal breaker.

      @@RobsCorner I’ve had the Samsung G5 34” and was really happy with it but accidentally broke it so I decided to go with something different this time and the Dell is rated better for gaming on Rtings and reviews says it’s decent too so decided to buy one. It comes Tuesday. If it is as good as the Samsung I’ll be happy and if it’s better then that’s even better. I did like the 1000 curve though so might feel a bit weird going to such a subtle curve after using such an aggressive one for so long lol. But as long as it’s just as good for gaming that’s the main thing. And people really decide not to buy Samsung cos of an external power block? It’s not even that big, kinda crazy to not buy a monitor because of that imo but everyone has their own preferences I guess lol. Thanks for the response.

      Just like any other monitor plug it in and it should work, just remember this is a 21 :9 ultrawide vs your standard tv or montior of 16:9 so either you will have black bars on the side or the image will be stretched to fit the screen

      I don't have an Xbox to test, but it's a monitor it will display what the Xbox outputs. But don't expect to play games at 3440x1440p and 144hz with an Xbox connected. It will probably work but you either won't get ultrawide so you will have black bars or the game will be stretched out to fit the screen

    • @RobsCorner

      Depends on the game, but more important is getting a better colour out of the screen so I would try and calibrate the custom color picture mode 1st. Check out rtings website they have great calibration settings for the monitor. but for the response time setting i found Super fast was better than extreme less blur in games.

    It's a pity to be curved thou (it means it's a VA panel, not an IPS).
    IMO VA are worst in every aspect, except contrast. Color and texts are sooo much better in an IPS... if it was gaming and video exclusive, ok to be VA... but for productivity (as Excel) IPS is a must.

      From what I can see the monitor is no longer on sale for 500 it's at a regular price of 855, the Discount code still works to remove 10% off the 855 though. The 500$ was not a discount code it was simply the proce of the monitor on special. That's unfortunate but they usually go on sale fairly often

    Good for the price point but stating that the monitor does it all isn't really correct. It's only got a brightness of 400 nits, a contrast of 3000/1, a lackluster VA panel with 8bit which means HDR is faked. Black levels are decent at best.... I will admit that for 500 CDN, it's a good deal currently but with QD-OLED monitors coming out this year and bound to get cheaper over time, I suggest people wait.

    • @RobsCorner
      @RobsCorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      True there are new technologies that will come out this year but that will also drive down the price of older models, this monitor does have its concessions but for the price the monitor does have enough features for my point that it does it all... doesn't do it all at the very best but it is loaded with features that monitors that cost way more don't offer. It is all about what features are a priority for the you and at what budget.

      comparing a $500 monitor with a QD-OLED that are going to start at minimum double the price is wild. For $500 it does everything you would want for $500.
