This dual input on the same screen feature is 100% mandatory: I have currently a dual screen setup with the second screen also mirrored to a projector. I don't want the projector to have a 32:9 ratio, but I would like to have the 32:9 ratio to replace my dual screens. This monitor would require a LARGE desk for two setups and a huge amount of money to build the two PCs that will run at 4K. This feature is awesome but it's ridiculously expensive so yes but no.
If this screen fits on your desk, you will have the space for a 2nd device, so I don't think thats a reasonable counter argument. The usecase for this is more for people that use multiple devices at once and those devices are certainly not 2 gaming PCs. E.g. streamers that have a dedicated streaming PC, developers that want to test something easily, maybe you got a dedicated server and want to Check something on it. For just gamers this feature is useless though.
@@Rocky712_ What kind of logic is that? Extra deskspace doesn't appear out of thin out of to accomodate a second tower and a second M+KB setup because you ran out of space after installing this monitor... 99.9% of people do not buy desks large enough to accomodate two towers and 2 M+KB. There are no reasonable use cases for this monitor. Professionals have multiple monitors that are for more expensive and specialized, not one giant monitor connected to multiple devices.
@@calvin659 @calvin659 If you buy 2 separate monitors, you will loose as much desk space as with this one. Your point simply doesn't make sense. This monitor is also not for 99.9% of people. The fact you simply say "Professionals" shows how undifferentiated your comment is. There are so many different use cases for professionals and your's with multiple special monitors really only applies to professional Video and Foto editors that need specific colour ranges. I'd never buy this, I rather go with 2 screens and accept the fact that there are bezels around the monitor and they will never be perfectly aligned. But if you have the extra spare money, this monitor is better than 2 separate monitors. And I literally mentioned what kind of people benefit from such a monitor. It's a 240hz monitor after all, you only need that for people that will play Games on it and have a top high end rig that can even hit those frames, but for Gamers alone this is to expensive. It really is best suited for gaming streamers and devs (who play a lot of games themselves usually).
@@calvin659 That's not quite correct. You can connect the same PC twice to this monitor to act as two monitors. Also, even if it were true that 99.9% of people do not have large desks, the 0.1% do. My desk is big enough to not only fit this montor but also 2 more side monitors. This montor actually costs very little compared to other hobbies such as camera and audiophile equipment. This monitor is barely the price of a single lens for photography. I think you are not the target audience. This monitor is completely sold out in the UK already, which is proof of how many people want it.
the ultimate splitscreen experience. we need more of these monitors to bring back the feeling of couch co op gaming, or in this case, desk co op gaming 🙏
First video I've seen from you. This was informative, entertaining and fun to watch. You didn't sacrifice the specs for comedy, you integrated them well, its appreciated
My preference for coding productivity is two 27" 4k monitors side by side, one straight ahead, one to the right . The OS isn't really good at managing multiple window snapping on a single wide monitor. But with the two separate inputs, this would be solved. Not to mention, it would have no gap between the monitors!
Try the Windows key plus the arrow keys. It makes snapping much easier and quicker. If even works with multimonitor. You can also use Win+Shift+[Arrow key] to quickly move windows between your screens.
And since you're a developer, getting to the Task Manager and running as admin quickly could be useful. That is Ctrl+Shift+Esc and Ctrl+Shift -> [Launch program] respectively.
Samsung has software for these monitors for window snapping called easy setting box where you can split the window in 2-6 windows in different setups and the grids are adjustable...
It's great for software editing because you can either have your application open on one side, or (I prefer) putting multiple files in the editor next to each other. You can easily do 3 or 4 files there. Very convenient if you work with many different files.
"Hey bro how much did this cost you?" "$2500!" "Oh not your whole gaming setup, just the monitor!" "Y-Yeah... I know, my monitor cost $2500" "WHAT!!!!!!!!!"
The good thing about the PBP mode is that you don’t have to have it active all the time & can easily switch using the monitor OSD if you want to use the whole display as a single screen without messing about with a KVM or plugging/unplugging cables/switching inputs
Yeah it's great. I have a 49in version of this. I like to connect my Nintendo Switch dock to my monitor. Have my right side entirely dedicated for games like Smash Bros and Splatoon. Left side for TH-cam, Discord, and Spotify.
The Picture in picture would be really useful for streaming if you are using a dedicated streaming system and an dedicated gaming system. Also having the picture by picture would be great if you do use two computers on a regular basis like I do, and if you are using a program like Synergy you only need one keyboard and mouse as well.
Yes, but it does not provide this level of experience at all. This monitor allows you to have the equivalent of two 32'' 4k screens which is insane. The seamless experience while using PBP on such as behemoth is what makes it unique not the PBP feature itself. One 32'' screen is already big but two, side by side that's crazy .
That’s possible. But factually incorrect to call PiP unique. Dell 49” ultrawide has PiP too, even my 24” dell from 2005 had PiP. Uncommon isn’t the same as unique. The screensize and resolution is in fact unique.. the PiP not so much.
I have an older version of this monitor and it's amazing for productivity. I bought it broken off ebay and fixed it. I use the picture by picture occasionally to run 2 PCs or a PC and a game console. I'm fixing a family member's desktop and I can let it update, run scans, restore lost data, and install stuff in 1/3 of the screen while I have the other 2/3 for my PC. Of course it is amazing for gaming and is extremely immersive. I also put it on the side once and rotated the image to have an extra tall screen to see what that was like. In games your character fills most of the screen
3:29 this should be so bit it makes an entire circle. Think about it. 6:55 play geometry dash on that monitor. Its specs will mane it way easier. 8:29 custom build a 360° monitor. It’d be really cool. Maybe make a sphere after. Then a hypersphere. Or don’t and just impress some popular TH-camrs.
I think this feature would be great for plugging both halves of the monitor into the same pc and using one half as a "main monitor" and the other as a "2nd monitor" for people who want a dual display setup without any bezel whatsoever
with a adaptor (playstatoin, xbox, nintendo ,etc, etc) you could have a console or a device and a pc/another device on the "two screens" for easy benchmarking, and since its the same monintor you can check what resultion/fps it gets or its capped to. (the adaptor is for 4k 120hz via hdmi 2.1 to dp 1.4)
Ignoring the resolution that's a pretty common feature for those monitors and in my opinion absolutely necessary, without it there is no way to use other applications while one is in fullscreen, you'd always have to use windowed mode for everything... That's the exact reason why I switched away from my 48" LG C1 as a monitor, because virtual zones just don't cut it for me, I loved everything else about it :(
More than 5 years ago I ordered a 21:9 LG monitor that had this split screen feature, you could plug two pc and it would display them side by side. Sure a 21:9 screen would only permit to display two 4:3 but for me it was quite interesting back in the days.
@@HybridZoo before wide scren I used 1280x1024 screen, the LG monitor was 2560x1080, when using split screen it was set as 1280x1024 and there was 56px of unused lines, so it was 5:4 to be more precise
PBP could be good if you wanted to use a seperate streaming pc or to multitask without using many resources. The price is high, but people also spend 3k+ on Televisions soooo yeah
A friend and I love to play Lego games in split screen. This monitor would an absolute game changer! Currently, I use NVIDIA Surround with two different monitors (both 4K, 16:9) but it's quite annoying to get the setup right and the quality isn't that great. Nice video!
You know, you could just put two monitors side by side... Don't see why you need two PCs smush into one big monitor for that, and in a half-curved configuration?! The player on the right would have a better image looking at the left side and vice versa
Genious for dorm rooms, or locations where multiple gamers gather.. Back home well U had to "find" a friend. But still not crazy , teamwork enhancing and social ! Thanks for showing this
7:49 when you have VS code open - I don't know how you develop, but I use multiple panes, which usually include an inspector and debugger as well as two command line interfaces. This would be super sweet for that, but definitely learn your keyboard shortcuts because going allllll the way to the left for everything can get old. I run with a 21:9 for that very reason, and sometimes, it still isn't quite wide enough for me to work without interrupting my flow to change windows or resize panes.
@7:50 Most of the time software devs don't work on one file. Multiple files open and visible for peaking the lines is the advantage of this screen for devs
So, I just want to state that this technically isn't the first monitor that does this feature, the splitting of an Ultra Wide monitor one, that is. This has been a feature for the entire Samsung Ultra Wide Monitor line, starting with the CHG90, which is the first iteration of this type of monitor. I know this because I have a CHG90 and exclusively use this feature, as I love having the two monitor setup without the bezel. I'm actually thinking about upgrading to the Neo G9 because it's bigger and has a better resolution and refresh rate while in PBP mode.
You can also plug a pc and a console. This monitor is also amazing for streaming. You can plug your gaming pc on the left and your streaming pc on the right and with a program you can browse seamlessly through both pc with a single kbm. It's absolutly fantastic
All I can say is this monitor really takes me back to when I was a kid with split screen. It honestly made me think about online gaming as a whole. I have met some really cool people though the reality is online gaming overall has made things a lot more lonely and solitary. Regardless of talking to people online, it just isn't the same as good old split screen.
I have the older regular 49" g9. I have some notes: The PBP mode is mainly a multitasking feature. Not a gaming feature. I for example often work with raspberry pis or on my steam deck in desktop mode. I spent a lot of time setting up my steam deck exactly how I wanted so it was joy to just be able to hook it up to the same monitor as my desktop. Have the documentation on one side and be able to use the same mouse and keyboard through ann app like barrier for example. 2 PCs. But 1 monitor and 1 set of peripherals. For productivity: I'm a programmer and I often have 3 files open side by side. Even though I'm working on only one. Having a constant reference on the other two files that influence the file I'm working on is so helpfull. As for desktop layout: I use powertoys fancy zones instead of the samsung provided app. It takes longer to setup but it has more options. Plus powertoys includes many other utilities that in my opnion should be standard in windows. Like text extraction from images, Color picker, etc...
bro, at 0:58 - 1:41 practicality to me refers to recalling the 2-4 screen gaming from shooting games of long ago for this monitor, this just means that multiplayer for the same game on the same monitor can be done like these previous shooting games of old - even Minecraft and other high-end PC games that support multiplayer like Elden Ring can now be played side-by-side this way edit: 2:17 cool, you did it already
Dude.. the super wide productivity hack is not going full screen, but working with 4 documents side by side. As a paper pusher I already use 2x 16:9 screens showing for example a couple of source documents, the document I'm creating and a browser research window all at once. A super wide looks like an absolute productivity dream. Even when the browser leads you astray you have those other windows right there reminding you what you were doing. And if the screen supports splitting one feed into two screens, something I know my friend's one does, you can use windows key + arrows to quickly align windows to screen corners. Works like a charm with 2x 16:9.
ya know, I have the OLED variant, switching from the original 49 1000r curv. Odyssey G9. This really wouldn't be possible, and I was about to call you out on it until you said you have the 57" variant. I've always wondered why I stopped gaming. The days of hanging with a buddy and teaming up, definitely a plus. You have a good point as well as far as each screens resolution is. Despite it not being a flat, same sized side by side Flat "Might be less distracting" set up, this is a signature product simply because of the specs mixed with a feature I so long for. Yes, I can split screen at 120HZ on prior models I mentioned above, but It would be more easy to load up the other screen on my top screen "55 LG." Hence, having 1 person sadly blocking the view of their screen themselves. - Monitor peaking when playing with a buddy isn't really possible. Love this use case scenario.
Something to keep in mind is with things such as, code editing. With code editing (example VS) you wouldn't be able to use the full width like you said, ALTHOUGH you still would... I've seen no serious project, or unserious for that matter, that uses a single coding file. So the screen would in that scenario be utilized by being able to keep a lot of tabs open simultaneously. Being coding the tabs talk to eachother which allows the coder to keep track of all the "code movement", or "code flow" if you will, across the tabs which can be beneficial.
It's called picture-by-picture and it's been on TVs and monitors for over a decade. Some 8K TVs can do 4x4K120 inputs simultaneously. Although you can use 2 PCs at the same time, which can be great for people running 2 operating systems, and you can even use the same mouse and keyboard on both systems using software as if it were a single hybrid system or use a KVM, it is more likely to be used as a secondary screen.
Paused at 60 secs just to say, that in all honesty, a while back I was looking for something exactly like this. A monitor able to act as 2 monitors. This is useful :)
Show me how Geometry Dahs works on this thing! As in, will the icon be centred or on the left edge, will some effect be on the whole screen, will it be wider or shorter than normal?
this might actually be pretty good for couples who like playing games together allows them to sit next to each other and makes it so they can chat and point things out instead of being far away from each other
PbP and PiP is not an exclusive feature for this monitor. I got a Ultrawide 34" monitor for my gaming PC 11 months ago for 500$ (one of the cheapest decent UW gaming monitors) and it also has these features. Granted it is not an ultra, ultra wide like this one, so when i split the screen I don't get two wide 4K screens, but for work it is very useful - like having two 4:3 monitors connected to the same PC, and without the bezel between the screens, it takes less space than two monitors.
I am surprised I don't see a comment already about this. This is huge for working from home. Being able to have one side be work related while the other side running your personal pc sounds wonderful.
This seems useful for some form of All In One Big Streamer setup. One large monitor for video editing for vods/clips, then split in two so the streamer can play on one side, and have a "streaming" pc with OBS or whatever other tool they use on the other end, in a easy setup.

"Hey bro how much did this cost you?"

POV: computer scientists when confronted with a social (=>new) situation
This feature would be awesome for streamers with dual pc setups.
Really good informative video, that dual screen feature is definitely must have!
imagine playing minecraft and a creeper sneaks to your side and you would die on a normal monitor but with this your like, I SSEEE YOUUUU
2:33 bro this is wholesome. We're bringing couch gaming back after consoles removed one!
PBP (picture-by-picture) is a rare feature, but not unique at all. My 34" Dell ultrawide has it too.
@@batterivatten Maybe it's not uncommon in Dell monitors.
In games your character fills most of the screen
same i have the 240hz 2K version and love it! very interested in the 4k version
whats the wallpaper you used at 0:30 i really want it :D
Maybe try searching “Light Blue, Dark blue, and white tie-dye background” on google
2:10 for a second I thought this was jigsaw
I think this feature would be great for plugging both halves of the monitor into the same pc and using one half as a "main monitor" and the other as a "2nd monitor" for people who want a dual display setup without any bezel whatsoever
with a adaptor (playstatoin, xbox, nintendo ,etc, etc) you could have a console or a device and a pc/another device on the "two screens" for easy benchmarking, and since its the same monintor you can check what resultion/fps it gets or its capped to. (the adaptor is for 4k 120hz via hdmi 2.1 to dp 1.4)
wait till the 360 samsung odyssey monitor comes out💀
even without the subtitles this video called me poor in 215 languages
Currency is only one language with sub categories.
Now that is NOT what I expected on here... WOW that is so cool especially for VR too with 2 PC's and 2 Headsets!
Ignoring the resolution that's a pretty common feature for those monitors and in my opinion absolutely necessary, without it there is no way to use other applications while one is in fullscreen, you'd always have to use windowed mode for everything...
That's the exact reason why I switched away from my 48" LG C1 as a monitor, because virtual zones just don't cut it for me, I loved everything else about it :(
Since when did yeester have ads
More than 5 years ago I ordered a 21:9 LG monitor that had this split screen feature, you could plug two pc and it would display them side by side. Sure a 21:9 screen would only permit to display two 4:3 but for me it was quite interesting back in the days.
Yeah, I have an LG monitor released in 2014 that does this.
This has been a standard feature for mid-tier monitors for like a decade now. This guy has no idea what he's talking about.
Not even 4:3, which is 12:9, but 10.5:9.
@@HybridZoo before wide scren I used 1280x1024 screen, the LG monitor was 2560x1080, when using split screen it was set as 1280x1024 and there was 56px of unused lines, so it was 5:4 to be more precise
2:22 the power supply at the bottom of the pc is unplugged, im questioning if this is real
6:27 pov: you open discord light mode on this monitor
PBP could be good if you wanted to use a seperate streaming pc or to multitask without using many resources. The price is high, but people also spend 3k+ on Televisions soooo yeah
A friend and I love to play Lego games in split screen. This monitor would an absolute game changer! Currently, I use NVIDIA Surround with two different monitors (both 4K, 16:9) but it's quite annoying to get the setup right and the quality isn't that great. Nice video!

Don't see why you need two PCs smush into one big monitor for that, and in a half-curved configuration?! The player on the right would have a better image looking at the left side and vice versa

Did they need to make the backside look like a Portal turret? I got so confused at the unboxing bit 😂

7:49 when you have VS code open - I don't know how you develop, but I use multiple panes, which usually include an inspector and debugger as well as two command line interfaces. This would be super sweet for that, but definitely learn your keyboard shortcuts because going allllll the way to the left for everything can get old. I run with a 21:9 for that very reason, and sometimes, it still isn't quite wide enough for me to work without interrupting my flow to change windows or resize panes.

imagine asking for ammo and bro says "naw i don't have any" then you look at his side of the screen and he has 200 of each type lol
@7:50 Most of the time software devs don't work on one file. Multiple files open and visible for peaking the lines is the advantage of this screen for devs
i love how everyone immedietly thought of GEOMETERY DASH!1!1!!!
Split screen is back guys but the downer is you need to bring your own pc/laptop
1:13 Great, now we can play games that don't support split-screen as if we were playing split-screen games.
With this PC: Never Download Viruses, Never Do Malware Test, As In Never.

The mic you use for your videos is the best sound ever for a mic 👌
You can also plug a pc and a console. This monitor is also amazing for streaming. You can plug your gaming pc on the left and your streaming pc on the right and with a program you can browse seamlessly through both pc with a single kbm. It's absolutly fantastic
All I can say is this monitor really takes me back to when I was a kid with split screen. It honestly made me think about online gaming as a whole. I have met some really cool people though the reality is online gaming overall has made things a lot more lonely and solitary. Regardless of talking to people online, it just isn't the same as good old split screen.
I'm sorry did that just say "Post on Craigslist" to make friends as an adult!? lmaoooo
I have the older regular 49" g9. I have some notes:
The PBP mode is mainly a multitasking feature.
Like text extraction from images, Color picker, etc...
bro, at 0:58 - 1:41
practicality to me refers to recalling the 2-4 screen gaming from shooting games of long ago
for this monitor, this just means that multiplayer for the same game on the same monitor can be done like these previous shooting games of old - even Minecraft and other high-end PC games that support multiplayer like Elden Ring can now be played side-by-side this way
edit: 2:17
cool, you did it already
"Do you want to play a game?" 2:06
Listen Jigsaw, I already value my life enough, I don't need your help. Really!
The perfect game screen for a pair of people sitting side by side. AKA, the gaming couple's monitor
honest to god this brings me back to the good ol days when Split Screen was a guaranteed option for playing games locally with friends
Dude.. the super wide productivity hack is not going full screen, but working with 4 documents side by side.
Wow this taught me alot, but the best thing? LEARNING HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS!
Be honest, now that you have had that monitor for a couple of months; Have you left the house?
More importantly, has your friend left your house?
ask a hobo on the street if they want to game on a 10k monitor.
bam, instant friend.
7:48 I actually open multiple files at once, sometimes 3, having more landscape would help. I don't think the price is justified tho.
I love how he is always using cheap cpus mobos and ram in all of his shorts and then he pulls out a monitor that costs more than my whole house
If you buy two of these, you could have a dual monitor setup on two PCs at the same time
this might actually be pretty good for couples who like playing games together allows them to sit next to each other and makes it so they can chat and point things out instead of being far away from each other
One Pc for work and employer's surveillance on what you're doing, the other for slacking off LOL
7:51 that would be my use case
This seems useful for some form of All In One Big Streamer setup. One large monitor for video editing for vods/clips, then split in two so the streamer can play on one side, and have a "streaming" pc with OBS or whatever other tool they use on the other end, in a easy setup.
Honestly, I think this should be a new category of gaming tournament lol
