According to Toyota website. Top of the line RAV4 Edge AWD with 2.5litre engine and sunroof - Driveaway $56,098. Top of the line Corolla Cross Atmos AWD with 2.0litre engine and sunroof - Driveaway $53,552. Smaller vehicle with less power, less towing capacity and a floor that does not lay flat. Bugger all difference in fuel economy. Why would you bother for such a small difference in price?
Well you can get this car sooner and in some cases this year or early next year. The RAV4 will already see a price increase and given the 18 months wait times, the RAV4 will be considerably more expensive before it is delivered.
@@marlonspeed24 I do not know where you got that information about this year or early next year. Whilst there may be a small number of deliveries to entice people to purchase, Toyota's global website indicates that production delays are affecting all models, particularly hybrids with the suspension of production lines at numerous factories, and the "situation remains difficult to predict due to semiconductor shortages and COVID-19."
RAV4 will be getting a price increase of a few thousand dollars in the coming months, plus wait times are now approaching 2 years for the hybrid models. Toyota are passing price rises onto customers so even if you were to order one today, the final price you pay may end up being several thousands more than what was initially agreed on.
Love this. What's missing are delivery timeline predictions, as everything else fades into the background when you find out that you won't get this car for 12 months
Turning radius 10.5m, compare that to the 12m turning radius of a Ioniq 5. This Corolla Cross car is nimble so easy to park! Ladies and Gents will also love the comfortable suspension... it's a very sensible car, it's great!
Toyota New Zealand charges $48K for the Limited version & $44k for the GXL version. The Corolla SX is $38k. Capped servicing is more expensive @ NZ$305. My 1st car is an Aqua 2013 brought in 2018, so will order a 2024 Cross or SX Corolla hatch next year. Cross versions arrive early in the year, hatch versions later in the year.
Get the GXL without the electric seats and without the sunroof (which doesn't open) which add a 142kg to the car! Plus you backside wont burn on leather seats.
I moved to Sydney from the States and bought a Hyundai Palisade last Ausgust. I'm selling it now....Why? Australian roads are too effing narrow, under ground parkings are the worst, they are only designed for teeny-tiny cars like this corolla. SMH.
The point he made about the rear window is an important one. It means the rear view mirror sits very low on the windscreen and different height drivers have to adjust the seat height every time they use it. This is done by pumping this stupid lever on the side of the seat. How could Toyota stuff it up so badly?
Hello! Ok in the Corolla Cross the glass roof is fixed, meaning it doesn’t open. There is a sunshade which opens and closes to protect the passengers from the sun and to stop the interior becoming hot.
Compare this to the Honda HR-V. The Honda has a smaller engine, significantly lacks many key features, has a shorter service interval and is priced the same. Hmmmm, I wonder which is better value for money?
In Australia you have to pay a $9.95 to $12.50 a month subscription service for Toyota Connected Services after 1 year free. Also has wireless apple car play but is wired android auto🤡🤡
Nothing is to be excited about This vehicle has very sensitive traction control, which means no matter how slow you are driving when you hit on a pothole or the road is an uneven step on the brake the traction is on, but Toyota said that is normal😂
@@THEAC83 it depends on the dealership. So ask around. I reached out to a few and every dealer has a fixed allocation each month. Those are ugly cabin interiors. And they are roof rails not roof racks. The Corolla Cross is 100% NOT an SUV. It’s a Crossover. In fact it’s the very definition. An SUV-like vehicle based on a passenger vehicle (car) which this is. Also the name is a giveaway like the Yaris Cross and the Eclipse Cross - these are all Crossovers not SUVs. An actual SUV is a Sports Utility (vehicle) NOT based on a passenger vehicle (car). It’s either based on another SUV platform, a Ute platform, it’s own unique platform or a different body on frame platform (sometimes - often in the US). I think you’ll find the door will only lock/unlock with excessive water splashing if the proximity key is also in range of the said door.
Geez it is a boring looking car, not sure how you could add a bit of flare to it, some sort of sports pack? wide wheels? roof racks with a bolted-on surfboard.
No one is going to buy the Hybird for $49 grand. You can get a Highlander very nicely equipped for that! Toyota is loosing its' self, can't see the trees for the forest. Corporate greed and desperation on full display.
I've had six Toyotas but I'm pretty sure my last one will be the last one. If we can put the rise of Hyundai and Kia down to anything it's Toyota's habit in the last decade of bringing boring, overpriced cars with short warranties to the market and then daring potential buyers to look at the opposition. All the legacy manufacturers are doing the same thing with EVs. It's almost as if they're purposely pushing people into Chinese cars and raising the manufacturing expertise of the Chinese car brands. In fact the term "legacy" is interchangeable with LEMMING.

People that live in apartments without chargers, as the public charging infrastructure is still years behind relative to the number of new EVs sold. And even worse, any long distance driving outside of the city only further compounds the fact.

Pointless especially small and medium SUV… just as small as a hatch back (much more expensive, consume more natural resources), basically a hatchback with more ground clearance and high Center of gravity to make handling worse to add to the insult… if I buy an SUV I will sure get a full size SUV, not a small or medium size SUV.
