This is the first camera I was actually able to use in full manual mode. Other cameras made it too difficult for me to learn. I also have the OMD and feel like they both take equally great photos. It is especially helpful if you set up the live control on the main screen to easily switch settings when shooting in manual.

It’s more than enough camera for most people. Plus those wonderful Olympus jpeg colors.

It’d be good to know what cameras you *would* recommend for vlogging...

    Hi,
I'm looking for a camera and this catches my attention. How do you take pictures on sunny days as it does not equip with viewfinder?

Im looking for a compack/portable camera like this that has a microphone jack. Can you suggest one? I'm still having a hard time finding one.

It's 2021 and I have just picked up a mint (almost new) copy of the EPL-5 with its kit 14-42 lens for £200. I already have the EPL-1 (owned for 9 years) and the original OM-D E-M3 (owned for 7 years), and a load of Zuiko and Lumix lenses. I shoot mainly with my Canon 5D and my Sony A7 full frame systems, but I do like to use these small cameras for discrete street photography. I have to say, that I am extremely impressed with this camera, and I am at odds with most of what this bloke had to say about the EPL-9 (assuming that it was an advance on the 5). The only thing that I wish Olympus had added to the camera is a push-scrolling thumb wheel like the one that Panasonic use on their LX cameras. With it, one can select and alter aperture, shutter and focus, depending on which option is selected by the thumb-press. That would have made this a fantastic series of cameras, rather than merely superb, in my opinion. Match this little camera with something like a Lumix 14 or 20 mm lens, and you have yourself a great street camera. The ability to focus and shoot with a mere touch of a finger, in a camera this cheap, is great function.

I don't think so. The lens selection of the Canon compared to the micro43 one is ridiculusly small.

Canon : Limited range of lense / plastic finish body and lense / bulky.
Olympus : Quality build, looks stylish too if that matters to someone and compact sized for travel / great Image quality and feature packed / 94 lenses to choose from/ IBIS
