Honestly a lot of the sexist things he says don't even just demean women... he's putting down his own sex by implying that men aren't capable of holding back sexually and they are like these animalistic hypersexual beasts who aren't capable of interacting with women in platonic ways (without having romantic/sexual intentions).

It’s never happened to me but I have a friend who was friends with someone for a long time, then they started dating for like 6 months before breaking up and stayed friends. While they were dating they both said for the longest time they hadn’t really considered being together but eventually it had happened (I didn’t pry into the details of how) and then they broke up for complicated reasons and as I said stayed great friends.
