I graduate in December and I just spent the last three hours applying for jobs, I exhaustingly walked through my house to the kitchen to get a snack, noticing the piles of dishes and laundry ... I stopped and said to myself “you know what... I need a Gus break”
If you are a US citizen you can make a profile on USAJobs and get a government job with a guaranteed retirement. Also if you have a little spare money making a good LinkedIn profile can work wonders, and allow the right companies to see you and connect. Indeed is also good. If you are in a position to move, you can find a reasonable sized city, get a reasonably priced apartment; I would avoid moving somewhere like So Cal, or NY. But places like Colorado, Florida, Washington State of Texas are great options for getting a good start if you are fresh out of college. A lot of companies also advertise on LinkedIn with jobs that are tailored for (New Grads). If you can prepare properly for interviews, do a good amount of research and play to your strengths a lot of times, jobs will look past little to no experience. Even if they say they require a certain amount, if you u are good at something, and good at speaking good about yourself. You will have no problem.

Try Matt3756. The only thing that I dont like is how he acts in a lot of the videos. Can get repetitive and annoying after a while. He does own his own arcade and machines but Im pretty sure he says whether or not that is the case in his videos. Also apparently hes done a couple videos with arcade warrior so whether or not Matt himself is fake idfk and granted I dont really care because I barely watch any of his videos.

I think its kind of unfair to generalize and say ALL arcade channels are nothing but fake clickbait although some of the ones you listed are def just in it for the money like Joystick and Clawtuber. Claw Kicker got a little better with this videos. Joystick has gotten out of control imo and is really giving this niche a bad image. He owns arcades and its so obvious the iphones and money he is winning is from his own machines.
I've been uploading claw and arcade videos for almost a decade now and I've done my best to always keep my videos honest and real. When I win something even if its a big prize, its 100% legit. I don't stage things or pay arcades to let me fake win stuff. I have no reason to because people subscribe for my personality and I just go out and have fun.
I appreciate your video and def agree with most of your points... But just keep in mind there are legit arcade TH-camrs out there. Unfortunately there's bad apples in any niche..

Ow my eye. I think you should've reiterated how these machines are manipulated. You mentioned it off-hand, but it's not a conspiracy. You literally can adjust the grip strength of the arm on these things. It's not a conspiracy. That's how they work. They magically get super grip strength every 20 or so plays, so the game is still winnable, but it essentially is random. So if you own the machine, you can adjust how likely it is to purposely lose or gain grip strength to change the odds of winning. Just wanted to make sure people realized that part isn't sarcasm. That's real.
I can confirm, I do this at my job to get the calibrations right. If you look up ICE games and check their website you can see the service manuals for yourself.
So what you're saying is there's a chance you couldn't possibly win and there's a chance you absolutely would win? Doesn't that make it.... *GAMBLING* ???

Thanks for doing a video about this. I'm an arcade technician and I've seen younger kids more and more sad because they don't win as much as they think they should. They win, they just don't clear a claw or get all of the prizes in Mega Stacker. I explain to the kids how the games work and explain to parents how the arcade makes it's money, but they still don't seem to have as great of a time at the arcade because of this. It's not fair to take a kids joy in an arcade away and I feel like these channels are doing just that. Thanks again for talking about this Gus.

@@argonautilus9540 I'd love to explain! Basically I just applied to be a tech and I got lucky.
The place I applied for was doing a lot of hiring at the time and I applied stating that I wanted to be a game tech. They brought me in for a group interview (which was terrible as I was 25 and everyone else was 15-18 with little to no previous work experience, making the interview very akward) and afterwards told me that a tech position wasn't available and that I overqualified for a game/attraction attendant. I left disappointed, but I also didn't want to go back down to minimum wage just to work at an arcade.
After about 3 months I got a call asking if I'd like to come in for an interview. Apparently 2 of the old techs were in a relationship and left to further advance that relationship and two positions opened up. They hired one guy internally and they hired me.
In college I taught myself to fix cell phones (everyone in college broke their phone) and had a relationship with a local retro gaming store and did console and accesory repairs for them in exchange for store credit. I had some pretty good references because of this, which I believe sealed the deal.
If working for an arcade as a technician is something you are interested in doing I would highly recommend developing relationships with your local gaming store. Often times they will have heaps of broken stuff that they might not mind you experimenting on. Get on iFixit.com and just try going step by step through a repair. Don't be afraid to fail either, because you will fail. I broke a $600 monitor just a few months ago. It happens. Like with most things, the more mistakes you make the better you will be the next time you try. Now I can replace LEDs in TVs and monitors like a pro! Great for helping people outside of work save money.
One last thing. Talk to the techs in the arcade if you see them working on something. I can't speak for everyone, but I love explaining how stuff works.

@@meevil24 I think it all boils down to excitement factor.
Lights, colors and sounds all attract someone to a game and the prizes inside make people want to play. Claws are simple in concept and, with no knowledge of how they actually work, seem simple enough to play. It's exciting to win a claw machine and it feels good to skillfully grab that toy you want and watch it drop into the chute.
Is it false hope? Kinda, sorta. There is skill involved in playing a claw machine, but it is mostly luck and waiting for the machine to hit it's payout before it'll give you the strongest grip. The thing that gives people hope is that you actually can win.
I can't speak for every arcade, but ours likes to see people win, as that makes people happy and want to return. We have to make our money back on the prize itself and account for any overhead, but we keep the chances of winning as high as possible with all that in mind.
I don't intend to try to sway your opinion with all this. I hope I can just provide a different perspective.
