during a church service i attended when i was still pretty young, the sermon included the topic of inherited sin. i learned that my parents had to sin to make me, and that meant that i was born as a sinner. on the car ride home, i asked my parents about heaven and hell. their answers for what it would be like were contradictory and unsatisfying. i asked how long forever was, and they told me that it was a greater length of time than i could ever imagine or comprehend. then i asked, "so i'm going to suffer forever after i die because you had to sin to make me?" and my parents said, "maybe. god has already decided who's going to heaven and who's going to hell." i asked how he determined who went to hell, who went to heaven, and they told me it was pretty much just up to god's will, that it didn't matter how good or bad a person was, and that i wouldn't know where i would end up until i was facing my judgement. my mom told me that she wouldn't be able to miss me if she went to heaven and i went to hell, because she would be too wrapped up in the praise and worship of god, and said god took away all pain and suffering, including the pain of mourning or missing someone important. "you'd let god send me to hell?" i asked. "if it's his will, i can't stop him." in one conversation, i figured out that their god was a monster, and i was too old to believe in monsters anymore

You can only truly understand who you are in reality by looking into the mirror of the word of God. For instance, you then realize that you are not a good person? Why? It's because we all the sinful nature inherited from Adam. We are all responsible for breaking God's moral law. So if ALL HAVE SINNED, then not one of us can justify ourselves before God. Therefore, God didn't make you a sinner. You are a sinner because you have sinned. "As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10-12) This is why you need the Savior Jesus Christ. "For He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21) This is the wonderful good news of the gospel !

@@christophergibson7155 Yeah, well, like I give a sh*t currently about the moral system of Deuteronomy 20:13, 21:11, Judges 21:14, and 2 Samuel f***ing 24:16, mate.
Also, ever heard of Mahavira? Guru Nanak, or Siddhartha? Or even Confucius, or even - Voltaire? Many of who just got on with things.
And sin BEGAN IN Heaven. It just popped UP one day out of NOTHING, or possibly bad angelic design.
Now - why could Satan revisit heaven... EVER, or keep any powers? And who cares what some demented, deranged being, thought of Job? And his 'replaceable' (spit) family.
Also, who sits out a blood libel, upon medieval Jews, a slave trade lasting 127,000 times the period it took to accuse, sentence, and eliminate Achan's ENTIRE family, in Joshua 7:24 - or Korah's, in Numbers 16:28 (ages of many, unknown) or to eliminate one man gathering firewood on Sabbath, in Numbers 15:32?
And the thousands eliminated, by plague, for being counted in a f***ing census, in 2 Samuel 24, who David unsuccessfully pled, for? A few chapters after he pled, for the life of Bathsheba's INFANT son - who passed away, by implied curse, over an entire, d&mn week?
How - heroic, that was? How... merciful.
Now - go and fulfil John 14:13, maybe, thanks?
As Augustine, Luther, Calvin, and Torque-freaking-mada, NEVER got asked to fulfil - or establish their, outward, credentials.
And He chose to conceal Himself from humanity, by default. Nobody forced Him to. No angel got hidden from - even the nutty ones, suddenly unhappy or suicidally proud, in heaven. Nor making 'choices' to 'fall' an entire species under a 'glass darkly', and other things that eventually drag Romans 1:20 (which FAILED oftentime, in the angelic realm, too) into being a ropey, incomplete mess - today.
Thanks. Also, Matthew 17:20? Use it well - a lot of starving Africans, might benefit.
Just stop coasting, though. All of your querulously, schisming, squabbling myriad selves. Seeking tax exemption, and then political leverage, and media ones - too.
Also, saving a narrow pathed, predestinated group of not 'natural men' isn't necessarily fully impressive. Maybe also intervene on blood libels, Inquisitions, and slave trades - next time.
Or else maybe people might think gathering wood on Sabbath, or hiding loot, is more 'detestable' on the cosmic scale, say. As they got direct divine attention - seemingly. And clear communication (an increasing, rarity)

      1) if it was “all fear and guilt” for you, then I’m sorry but that means you’ve failed to grasp the heart and meaning of the gospel.
      2) Your mention of heart and hell in the same sentence is clear evidence that you have not understood what Jesus of the gospels is all about.
      3) Fear is a real and legitimate experience - not a dirty word. If you can’t deal with fear you are hiding from reality. As a human you have to have a viable and existential answer to fear. If fear is the only thought that comes to you in reading the gospel (if you ever have), then it’s gone completely over your head.
      4) For you to write what you have written it means you are unaware of the the experience of receiving the overwhelming love of Christ…..something that happened to me at age 24.

THIS is the essence of something I have been trying to say to people for years. A Tri-omni god creates the preconditions for what sin is and how it is forgiven...so that god could decide how forgiveness is earned. It falls apart right there.
One of the most shocking things (by the lights of the people I was talking to) I ever said to my church before I left was that I didn't want someone else to be responsible for my mistakes; I was comfortable being held to account myself for anything I did. I have never done anything so awful I felt like a just god would condemn me forever for it. I can't wrap my head around the idea that any transgression, no matter how minor is a "stench in the nostril of the lord" equal to murder. It doesn't work.
Now, I just go with this:
“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.” - Marcus Aurelius.

Who is the foundation for all moral values by which we can say this is wrong and this is right. Before the one who is morally perfect. The creator of all things. Wrong has no place with right. Evil has no place with good. Sin has no place with God. It is an impossibility for a sinful(evil/wrong behaviour) being to be with God(complete goodness) for eternity. Sin needs to be removed for that being to be with God. But we are fallible and finite beings incapable of achieving moral perfection on our own - as to atone for ourselves in such a way to be made right with God. This is why Jesus came. I recall going to sunday school with my aunt, uncle and cousin whilst I was staying with them. I wasn't raised religious and was always encouraged by my parents to ask questions if I didn't understand something growing up. I was ten years old the first (and only) time I attended Sunday school. It all seems baffling and illogical so naturally I wanted to ask questions about what was being taught. Within 10 minutes, I was asked to stop asking so many questions (I was curious but polite and respectful at all times and raised my hand until I was prompted to ask) and I was moved to another adjacent room and given some colouring books and crayons to use whilst they finished up with the other kids. I always felt that was highly suspicious.

That's because false religions come from man and from Satan. Christianity is not a religion, it is a change in a person brought about by spiritual rebirth from God, hence the name "born again Christian." A "CHRIST" ian is a person who has been spiritually born again by God sending the Holy Spirit to dwell within them from the moment that they honestly accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, who loves Jesus Christ and believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible and has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior Who died and resurrected to pay for their sins for them, and tries to imitate Jesus in their life, pure and simple with no religion in the way. I was scared and confused as a 10 year old when a friend told me I needed to be saved. I then prayed the "sinners prayer" and felt nothing... It all felt like pretending from then on. It took until I took a six week "Hearing God" course through our church when I was 40 years old to realize maybe it wasn't me. Even if I hadn't given God everything I could before, during that course I poured my heart and soul in and came back with nothing. Until then I had blamed myself that God wasn't showing up and then I started to wonder if it was real at all. It has been a beautiful yet very difficult journey to get my life back. Thanks Kristi for sharing your insight and wisdom.

So true! Once you see it you can’t un-see it. And after several years of unpacking, I’m still not done yet. I still find ingrained mindsets or beliefs about something that catch me off guard and I think, “why do I think like that”, and then I realize that it comes from those deeply seeded mantras that take hold of vulnerable, broken, and insecure individuals.
I was a young woman who didn’t believe I was good enough due to my experiences growing up and Christianity reinforced that belief. It was only when I really started questioning and pulling away from it that I got to know myself and learn that I am good enough.

Yet did you ever imagine what your thinking?.... "why do I think like that”, (is what you have stated here). You only have to go back to the origins in Genesis Chapter 3 verse 1 to see those very thoughts that were placed before Eve in the Garden of Eden.....What did the serpent (Satan) say? "HAS GOD REALLY SAID?" The first thing to enter one's thinking is DOUBT. Adam and Eve knew exactly what God had said to them, yet they entertained thoughts of doubt.

True deconstruction requires a complete deprogramming and reprogramming of our belief systems, a cognitive makeover of sorts. And the victims of the crimes get nothing. After reading books by David Fitzgerald, Richard Carrier, Matt Dillahunty, Richard Dawkins and hearing talks from them and other well known atheists like Aron Ra, Shannon Q and Tracie Harris I realized my fears were not justified. When you really do the research and understand the nature of where the creation myth arose from. How many parallels there are to the story of Christ. And did Jesus Christ even exist at all? These are very difficult questions to answer but the evidence would seem to suggest that no, Jesus did not exist. And then in closing, why would "God" punish us for eons upon eons for the 80-100 yrs we live on Earth? Does that sound like Justice on any level at all?

hell was never meant for us, my fellow youtube user. it was for the devil and his squad, and God gave us the Way out of there since we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
God knew we were wack, but He decided He was still come down and help us, despite our unfaithfulness. most relationships (like friendships, romantic relationships) aren't like this. Very few, but not a whole lot.
religion (Christianity) is just a relationship with God along with loving others (see james 1:27)
also, we have various types of evidence that backs up the Bible.
Here's one example: Scientists have discovered that the earth "skipped" a day.
The Bible explains how that happened. In the book of Joshua, Joshua asked the sun to stop so he and the Israelites could defeat their enemies. Then in 2 Kings, King Hezekiah learned he was dying, and pleaded to God to not let him die. God sent a prophet to king hezekiah who said hezekiah would live. Hezekiah wanted a sign, and that would be for the sun to defy the law of inertia and go back 10 degrees. NASA confirmed it and did the math (look it up for more info).
We also found Jesus' blood on the Ark of the Covenant which had 23 x chromosomes and 1 Y chromosome. This shows that He was born of a virgin (Mary) and God the Father is His Father.
The Holy Spirit exists. I was a slave to s3xual sin for 7-ish d@mn years. Finally at 16, God freed me. Also, look up John Gabbana's (boonk gang) testimony. Dude did a lot of wacky stuff. He's changed now.
also, the soul exists. someone i know (i won't say who- privacy reasons) saw their soul leaving their body. like pulling off a band-aid, except it doesn't hurt.
Here’s the physical evidence of Jesus and His Resurrection:
      1) No persecution would have started if He hadn’t come back (the disciples thought Jesus would never resurrect)
      2) The Roman soldiers would have paid with their lives if they failed at their jobs
      3) there was a 2-4 ton rock that 11-12 guys would have to move (they didn’t have any help. Everyone said “crucify Him”) major L to those opposed to Jesus
      4) there was a Roman seal which was a metal pin that sealed the tomb stone
      5) Stealing the Jesus’s body isn’t something the disciples would do (besides Judas. Although he hung himself after feeling remorse for betraying Jesus).
      6) the disciples wouldn’t die for what they knew would be a lie. (The lie being Jesus never made the ultimate comeback)
      faith and reason, people

Since I was little, growing up in the evangelical church, now atheist, I always asked, “what is the point of blood shed in the forgiveness of sins?” I got so many different answers that like you said, were thought stopping on my logical track. I’m glad I watched this completely logical video but wish I had watched it when I had questions. Christianity is a mass cult. They don’t think it is because it’s so massive. The definition of delusion excludes religion…why though? Even though beliefs are instilled in a lot of Christians since childhood, there are a lot of things that are crazy that I continued to believe in. I was delusional. Delusion is defined: a false belief or judgment about external reality, held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary. There is incontrovertible evidence against Christianity and every other religion. One will claim that faith isn’t a delusion. But those same people claim to “BELIEVE” in all of this. There’s a plethora of evidence against Christianity that these people believe in. The DSM doesn’t count belief in a religion a delusion. That’s because “When beliefs are shared by others, the idiosyncratic can become normalized.” I think that if these people aren’t presented with the evidence then yes, they aren’t delusional. But if they are presented with undeniable evidence, then they’re delusional if they keep believing. Christianity is tricky though. They’ll tell you to keep faith (keep believing) no matter what and that the devil is going to tempt them to not believe. Just another manipulative tool by Christians.

Meanwhile, religious people weirdly have this social-science privilege where their religious delusions automatically get removed from the list of mental illnesses just because religion is believed by too many people to be considered a delusion or mental illness.

You need to understand that death means separation. Sin brings separation. If you are in a relationship and you sin against it, the logical course is to create a gap, a distance. Just if this happens between you and God, you will die. Not because He wants to kill you, but because He will not force you to live with Him, and He is Life Itself, so if you separate from Him, you will just die (first spiritually).
Now love, which is holiness, causes the opposite. It creates unity. The more you love the closer you become. To a point where 2 may be considered 1. This is naturally seen in society. Husband and wife, family, neighborhood, city, country, and so on. Now, if you love Jesus, which is God's Word, you become one with Him, by becoming one with Him, you will share fates, so the death and damnation of Jesus will count as your own, so you will not have to die and be condemned anymore.
This is why the Bible pictures a relationship of husband and wife between Jesus Christ and the church. You "marry" God so that you won't be ever separated from Life.

Because honestly, I can't really tell you. I was always curious, always wanted to learn, read the Bible constantly, studied it, but at the same time, I was indoctrinated into the beliefs of those around me and was a very closed-minded person in a lot of ways. I think there was a lot of conflict between what I believed was right and what I was being told was right. Sadly, I am still a slave to the wrong things I was taught, since they were taught to me so young. I wish I could finally break 100% free of it.
Anyway the Jesus belief with the blood magic is also mythical, and illogical to boot. Christians talk about taking responsibility for your actions, justice, etc., but by believing in this blood sacrifice, they are not actually taking any responsibility for themselves, and I think this is a terrible way to live. Other religions generally encourage people to take responsibility for their own actions. I don't know what other religions you're talking about that "just tell you to be good."

In flesh, possibly not.
Responsibility is journey to find for many, including myself. So I won't try to project my personal experience with God to try and corral you back in 'the church'. But if God is who you read about, are you shocked that He wouldn't reach out through His believers?

It's so often a way for christians to stop thinking--they see the issues but won't try to explore it further (many times) ending it with the mysterious ways line. It's kind of like someone sticking their fingers in their ears so they don't have to hear something or sticking one's head in the sand. In reality it's kind of juvenile as someone who has "matured" can explore areas in their life that are concerning, whereas the less brave will just stay in the comfort of the things they were taught growing up and stick their head in the sand when needed.

I think the saddest thing is that there are people who understand the nonsense but perpetuate it regardless because there will always be someone who buys it. Religion is a double edged sword. It can give you hope and a sense of belonging but these things are all very conditional on unquestioning faith. Humanity asks questions by nature and to restrict that brings spiritual death. If the tree of life and tree of knowledge of good and evil were real, humanity should have learned their lesson already. It's better to live and question than abide by restrictive black and white ideologies.

Kristi... I think your videos are great... and I want to applaud the way you state things so clearly and directly.
I was raised in a non-religious family so I've always considered Christianity to be "one of many creation myths".
However, as I've become aware of how many people actually believe it to be true, the way I've self-identified has drifted from "agnostic" to "atheist".
(I won't claim to know for an absolute fact that no god of any sort can possibly exist but the God of the Bible makes no sense and has no evidence.)
That said... I've only seen a few of your videos so far but what you've said agrees entirely with my observations.
And, likewise, the "arguments" put forth by apologists seem to me to make very little sense.
On the subject of free will:
Even assuming that we have "free will", and "the right to choose", and so "have the ABILITY to choose evil"...
Assuming that we were designed with reasonably good judgment, and were shown all the evidence, WE WOULD NEVER CHOOSE EVIL.
(And being created with poor judgment, or placed in a world where the proper choice wasn't obvious, are both the fault of an imperfect creator.)
My favorite part of the fairy tale is the part where "God created angels as perfect beings, with no free will, and no human flaws".
And his best and smartest angel was Lucifer... who promptly got bored, and staged a revolt, taking half of the angels with him...
    So....
Did God screw up big time when he created Lucifer?
Or was Lucifer RIGHT and God wasn't worth following?
I especially like Epicurus' quote on the problem of evil:
“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

(And being created with poor judgment, or placed in a world where the proper choice wasn't obvious, are both the fault of an imperfect creator.)"
On that topic, whenever anyone brings up evil, Christians always say "God gave us free will!" as if that justified it. Free will is simply the capacity to make choices, it has nothing to do with evil. My choices every day aren't to give a homeless man money or to kill them, cut out their intestines, and bathe in their blood. The fact that I'm even able to think of the latter as part of an example is, if God existed, the evil that He deliberately put in humanity was what caused such a thought. He could easily have made humanity lack evil and still have free will.
That's before we even get into the evil that has nothing to do with any human action. How many people die from hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, and so forth every single day somewhere in the world? That's an evil God himself is causing.
"My favorite part of the fairy tale is the part where "God created angels as perfect beings, with no free will, and no human flaws".

      So....
Did God screw up big time when he created Lucifer?
Or was Lucifer RIGHT and God wasn't worth following?"
The hilarity of the contradictory nature of the very idea of Lucifer is incredible. By the own admission of religious people God is a perfect being and thus can't make mistakes... and yet He created a being which rebelled against Him and set up shop in Hell to torture people for all eternity.
Even if he did somehow make a mistake, He as God could wipe Lucifer and all the fallen angels out of existence, removed Hell, and sent all the damned to Heaven whether they sinned or not with a thought and could still do so at any time, and yet He apparently didn't. It's almost as if God is an evil sadistic bastard that wanted all this to happen so He'd have an excuse to torment humanity.

Exactly. I feel like the terminology people often use such as “the price of sin” or “our debt” is used to victim blame humans for a problem God supposedly created. They make it seem like this is a limitation God has to abide by rather than standard he created in the first place. I think it stems from the dichotomy of God being perceived as a person or the embodiment of the universe/nature. If you leave your phone outside on a night that calls for rain, you can’t blame nature for that, because nature isn’t a living thinking being that can make decisions. It’s your fault because it’s your duty to make a decision based on your knowledge of nature. If you view God like you do nature, you can’t blame him for condemning people to Hell, you have to blame people for making choices that led to God sending them to Hell. They then selectively view God as a person when trying to make you feel bad for Jesus, ignoring the fact that he is saving people from a problem he created.

The one thing that destroys the foundation of the gospels is their authenticity! No one knows who, when, where, and why these books were written!

    • @JeffDesmond

Correct. All four were written anonymously at least a generation after the supposed cricifixion, which was not documented by any extrabiblical source at the time, even though there were plenty of historians around who had plenty of motivation to do so. Such as Philo Judaeus, for example. As for the why, that is a long story, but the best hypothesis I've heard so far has to be Dr. David Skrbina's. Certainly worth looking into.

You are so wrong! You simply parrot others instead of seeking the truth. Is that all your eternal soul is worth?
Some first century verses were found from Matthew. They were written in Greek by the way. It was within 35 years after the resurrection. Also, 1 John 5:7 was found a long time ago and was displayed in a Brittish museum.
Adullum Films Tares Among the Wheat Sequal video.
There is a particular religion that does not want that known nor the Authorized Version later called the King James Bible to be read.
It is for you to seek the truth.

@@judyswiderski2682 which Matthew? What is his last name? Why doesn't he refer to himself in a second person, rather than saying "and Jesus meet Matthew" in the third person? 1 John 5:7 is an appochrapha! Why were these books written in Greek? Neither Jesus not any of his disciples recorded to have spoken Greek, so what did they really say in their own Aramaic language? Let alone you reading it in English, so that is two languages away from the supposed original writings that no one have seen! None of these records are eye witnesses! Why should anyone base their salvation on them blindly? Please study before you repeat what your church guys tell you like a parrot!

      @Aous AAK,
Why don't they know. John said twice that he wrote the Gospel of John. He said he wrote 1 John also. Paul claimed his epistles. So did Peter. Luke said.he wrote his to Theophilus. He said, we, in the book of Acts many times. Which he also wrote to Theophilus.
But mostly God said He preserved his word. Psalm12:6,7. A simple thing for Him to do.
Those who fight the Authorized Version, later called the King James Bible, are those who fight against that bible to defend the uninspired conflicting Alexandrian manuscripts, which quote Jesus in a lie.
Are you sure.you want to believe them?

@@judyswiderski2682 John who? Which John? Matthew who? Which Matthew? Paul who? What is his last name? What credibility did he have? He never met Jesus in person! You gonna say he saw him in the dream, alright, how did he know how Jesus look like so that he knew whoever he saw was truly Jesus, since he never met him? Just because someone claims something doesn't make him credible! Please read the introduction of J.B. Phillips Bible translation were he states that we don't know who wrote these gospels, we only give them these names so it is easy to call them by a name rather than saying, the first gospel, the second gospel, etc! Mark never wrote the gospel of Mark, because he was a little boy when Jesus left earth .. The author of Luke says that he saw gospels circulating, so he decided to write his own account (so not inspired by God)! ... None of those people spoke any Greek ... Gospel of Mark was written in Rome, which is a city that neither Jesus, nor any of his disciples visited or lived in!
In regards to Paul, all of his teachings are absolutely against what Jesus taught ... He in fact says that tricked and deceived people to believe in him ... Read the book of Romans ... He often says "according to my gospel", do makes things up! In fact, historian debate about six of the 13 writings of his that are not written by the same person who wrote the other seven!
The bible has zero authenticity ... Even the word bible is NOT in the bible! We made it up! Please read the history of the gospels before believing what is in it blindly!

Yes. On one side he says that he doesn’t want to change any one’s religion but to change their minds and hearts.
And on the other hand, if some person wants to follow his religion then, he gets jealous.

So glad I found your channel. Absolutely agree! God (all knowing, powerful, and loving) created the whole drama of sin, seperation from God, the blood sacrifice, and the requirement of belief! It makes no sense, unless you think toxic relationships are devine😢

By the way... you mentioned the part about the fair system.
I ask you.... Is OUR system fair? What is fair? Can you be divinely assigned or even tasked with the definition of "Fair"? Can anyone? Can we actually have a fair system? Years and centuries ago what is fair now would never have been fair before and what is fair now would be seen as illegal or unjust 50 to 100 years from now. My friend, it's because of this that politicians... every single one of them.... especially our presidential candidates now have flipped flopped from ideals and/or parties for decades.
But.... God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow.
