India has always a warrior past and a long martial arts tradition which is finally being resurfaced. Hanuman is a very strong figure in the role of good versus evil. Martial arts style inspired by Hanuman in India Hanuman Yuddha style in Shastar Vidiya Malla yuddha and kushti which is Wrestling Mushti Boxing and in South East Asia in Thailand specifically and others like Cambodia and even Burma the Have Lethwei Bokator, Pradal saray and Muay Thai, Muay Lao and Muay Boran all inspired by Hanuman. Look it up
His role in The Green Knight is brilliant. This’ll be fun

Brothers, I want to share a story here. I am from India, I was 11 back then when I saw the trailer on an ad break and I declared that the movie was going to get an Oscar. When it came, my father and I went to watch it and yeah, I was double sure about it. And since they won and my judgment as well. Dev Patel has been one of my favourites and has never disappointed, NEVER.

Saw this movie last night, fights scene was super badass. There were many blood scenes that I had to look away because it was gruesome. It was a dark action filled with a pure vengeance for love.

I was surprised to see Dev Patel naming the movie - The Raid..which is one of the best action movies I have ever seen.

This was the first movie in years where I enjoyed throughout. Well done
Got my tickets for Saturday! I'm all in on everything this dude does. Hotel Mumbai, Green Knight, Lion, Slumdog, the Marigold Hotel movies. Don't care what it is, I'm seeing it. Now he's writing, starring and directing a revenge flick? Take my money.

I loved this film so much and I'm so glad Jordan supported it as he did. On a 10 million its incredible what they achieved. When he mentioned Korean revenge cinema, I immediately thought of I Saw the Devil. If you haven't seen that give it a watch, it's an amazing dark revenge film. Again, amazing job to all the cast and crew of Monkey Man. Stellar job by all.

'anti nationalist' there is no 'nationalism' India as defined by western racist narratives against India because its a majority indigenous hindu country which historically they have always hated because of their Christian or Islamic faith. We saw the same with Indiana jones and the temple of doom where hindus are portrayed as sacrificing people to Goddess Kali.And there has many more like that. But to be careful they use the term 'nationalism' to not sound racist .

Saw the movie, it was an intense roller coaster.
We get slightly lost for a few minutes in the middle, but overall a great movie.
It funny how dev talks about game of death. After seeing the film I saw alot of game of death from climbing the base of the hotel to the vip room to the mirror glasses reflecting off Bobby at very end being like enter the dragon.

A Homage to Korean violence of Art in Vengeance. The art direction very much seems inspired by John Wick color cyberpunk world. Dev Patel is going to paving an Indian action movie into a more truly serious in asthetically. A young kid had been transformed into a Beast. This is truly inspired the world. Don't waste time being afraid of AI film-making. Do what you want and making the world fear of what we can achieve.
