That's a group success and a shared victory. A real coach puts in more hours than who they're training. Taking in different methods and techniques. Watching replays of performances with an analytical eye towards improvement. A REAL coach absolutely should be happy for the athlete. But it's really a journey and achievement completed and earned by them both

I had a coach who took me from 0 tennis skill to playing for college, 5 days a week 12 hours a day we practiced, lunch, drove me himself to tourneys across the country cause mom had to work, came to my highschool matches, everything. He died right before I got in. RIP Coach Norm. I'll never forget you.

Ski jumpers are able to land without breaking their legs because they land on a slope that has a similar angle to the angle at which they descend. This means that the jumper doesn't come to a sudden stop, but instead has time to slow down before landing. The landing also takes place immediately after the apex of the jump, when all vectors are at their slowest possible speeds
The ski jump had to be built from scratch in order to attempt this jump. He made a total of 4 attempts. What they are showing here is the 4th and final attempt, where he successfully obtained the world record. Previous world record was 253 meters. His jump was 291 meters.
@@-Tarzan For ski jumping competitions - yes. All jumping hills have to follow construction norm Art. 411. Otherwise you could make all jumps artificially longer. Also, I find jumping 250m on HS240 jumping hill more impressive than 290 on HS300, cause one guy had to land basically straight into a flat land, while the other still had room for more distance at a comfortable angle.
@Midaspl if we all let sports bodies govern what is breaking limits and records then true records would never be broken. Not saying sports bodies are bad but even as a racer I'm not letting the FIA dictate every single motorsports record personally.
