Hollywood never cast Dev as an action hero, so Dev decides to make his own action movie and star himself. Definitely marking my calendar for this thrill ride.
He was this close 🤌 to being Reed Richards in Marvel's Fantastic Four MCU Reboot. He was my top choice..but Marvel Studios have been on a losing streak as of late, and were seriously considering Jake Gyllenhaal as Richards, Adam Driver also. But ultimately went with Pedro Pascal. Dev would've been perfect, imo

This movie was incredible. The pacing for a unique and novel (for Hollywood) movie like this is extremely difficult and Dev Patel absolutely nailed it. He's an inspiration.

God this trailer...whoever was the lead editor on this deserves the biggest raise imaginable. I use to be an editor for commercial work when I was younger. I always wanted to edit trailers like movies and junk.

The plot seems close to the ganpath. But while watching ganpat I was thinking what kind of stupid plot was that. After watching this mesmerising trailer i realised that ganpat plot was good just they were just stupid filmmakers, couldn't execute it.

His body of work speaks for itself, this is pretty mich the only film I'd consider going to the cinema for this year. Dev is the man and its just the positive buzz I needed to see him doing his entirely own thing. Good on Jordan for recognising the pure talent of the man. I am sure his place in film history is already sealed and deservedly so. I'm sure this will be one of those films that the next generation talk about as if it was "his first big thing..have you seen it etc.." I don't know why I know but I do, he'll be in high demand as a director and actor for years to come...he'll probably have to turn down bond...unless he gets to direct. Let's get a movement going Dev Patel = James Bond ( but he has full creative freedom and final cut) but to be honest I think he could do sex and city and it'd still be a masterpiece. The man is way and above almost anyone still working today. So happy to see him direct and write.

The editing in this advertisement is masterclass. Told me everything I need to know about the film before watching, focused on the setting and style instead of plot, and the timing between cuts incredible. Goosebumps at 0:48. Perfect trailer for the film that may have it all.

I’m not one to comment on movies but this is an exception. This movie got me through a wave of emotions all thanks to Dev Patel. Really hats off to him for pulling this off. Absolutely proud of him! I can see him going far. He really deserves more recognition in Hollywood. He has such a good range. He really pulls you into the character in such a beautiful way. Literally had goosebumps watching this!

High hopes for this one, plus the fact that this was originally supposed to come out on Netflix only, however Jordan Peele watched the movie and bought the distribution rights in order for it to get a wider release. This has to be one of the best edited trailer I have seen in a long time. Introduces the protagonist, antagonist, gives a gist of the story, a few snippets of action and doesn’t give away the whole plot. Brilliant. I’ll be watching this film.

I recently took my uncle to see this and we both loved it. I haven't seen Dev Patel since Slumdog Millionaire, he was great in that and great in this. For cell phone and drone footage, the cinematography was great. All the acting was supurb, I really felt the story, and I loved all the action with Patel training the inhabitants how to fight being an unexpected surprise.

I have an amazing story. One day I was driving home, when all of a sudden the Lord came to me in spirit. I felt very close to Him. I knew if I asked him to play any song on the radio he would, I guess to bless my faith.
So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are by Nirvana".
I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly…
I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling.
He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car.
A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 6 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.
My brother Steven and I I just watched The Monkey Man movie Friday night it was awesome 😎. Dev Patel and Jordan Peele still KILLING IT 🔥👊❤️

See? It’s possible to make an amazing trailer, without spoiling the movie, with great music, and stellar editing. This should honestly make history, trailers have truly been lacking as of late, this surely raises the bar.
Wrong. Trailer was over 3 minutes and no almost no real dialog.. whats the point of the movie? they definitely showed all of the best scenes in that trailer.. a good trailer builds suspense for the vibes of the movie. Without showing the movie itself. These just flash all the coolest scenes at you to get into the theater.

Upgraded to Slum Dog Millionaire & enjoyed nominations galore of praise. For his first directing debut he slams down this beauty of brilliant culturally rich story telling with scriptwriting & starring. Jordan Peele doesn’t endorse unless it’s worthy to his own offerings. Understand what exactly? That he has unnecessary racially charged themes underlining most of his films? Get Out was a decent film. It wasn't anything special but that "twist" completely took me out of the movie. That and he's a bit pretentious with his messaging too.

Never in my dreams, I've imagined Dev Patel as an action star much less an action director. He's broken the shackles or stereotypical portrayal and can't wait to watch this one.

The shaky cam aligns with the inner turmoil and inexperience of Dev's character which steadily builds up with more stable wide shots as he grows stronger in confidence and brutal in revenge. It is intentional and supposed to jar

The fact that those little action scenes we saw didn’t have the stupid, and typical quick cuts that Hollywood has already gets me excited to watch this.
Worth every penny to see in a theater. Happy to support Dev, he was amazing. Highly recommend.
Just finished watching this! All I can say is I have never seen a movie so deep, fierce, and meaningful. This a must see! I can go on and on but I’ll leave with just one phrase..MINDBLOWN!!! You’d be out of your mind not to see this.

I don’t understand why people keep on saying 'John Wick'; this is a different story full of emotions and action. It is a brilliant piece of art from Dev Patel. The action sequences are unmatched, with a high level of creativity and flawless execution.
