🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:00 🥗 Fasting is a natural process that occurs during sleep, and breaking it is called breakfast. There's no need for extreme fasting practices; instead, focus on reasonable fasting periods.
02:28 🏃 Fasting allows the body to burn stored fuel efficiently, helping to reduce harmful body fat, lower inflammation, improve circulation, stem cells, gut microbiome, DNA, and the immune system.
08:05 🔄 Human metabolism follows four stages throughout life: rapid growth from birth to age one, gradual decline through adolescence, stability from age 20 to 60, and a slight decline from age 60 to 90.
11:47 🍅 Certain foods, like tomatoes, strawberries, and green tea, can improve metabolism, reduce body fat, and lower waist size. Fiber-rich foods promote satiety and help control appetite.
16:21 🍽️ Eating slowly and mindfully allows the body's signals of fullness to catch up, preventing overeating and aiding weight management.
19:25 💪 Health can be achieved at various body sizes, and it's essential to focus on internal health markers rather than just physical appearance or weight.
21:28 🥤 Stay hydrated to support your body's metabolic processes.
35:26 🌱 Prioritize plant-based foods in your diet, including a variety of vegetables.
37:02 🚫 Reduce or eliminate ultra-processed foods with artificial additives.
37:44 🍬 Minimize added sugars in your diet to avoid metabolic overload.
38:51 ☕ Incorporate beverages like tea, coffee, and water into your daily routine for health benefits.
40:01 🧠 Maintain good brain health with foods that support circulation, such as those containing ursolic acid.
41:22 💪 Keep your muscles functioning properly through a balanced diet and regular physical activity for independent living.
41:50 🏋️‍♂️ Regular exercise helps maintain muscle health, and stem cells play a crucial role in muscle regeneration from birth onwards.
42:32 🍽️ Extra virgin olive oil, Omega-3 fatty acids found in seafood (including seaweeds), and dark chocolate with high cacao content promote the activity of stem cells, aiding in various regenerative processes.
45:57 🍽️ The Mediterranean diet is not limited to specific countries; it encompasses a diverse range of traditional foods from around the Mediterranean Sea. Similarly, Asian diets also emphasize longevity with seafood and plant-based foods.
48:15 🌿 Polyphenols, natural chemicals found in various foods, act as Mother Nature's Pharmacy. They can activate epigenetic changes, protect DNA, slow down cellular aging, and bolster our health defenses.
52:29 🍽️ Diets often fail because they focus on elimination and restriction, causing people to perceive food as an adversary. The key is to create harmony by aligning your individual goals and preferences with how your body functions.
57:05 🌟 Prioritize self-knowledge and self-awareness to understand your goals and what truly makes you happy. Internal harmony is essential before embarking on any dietary or fitness journey.
59:08 🍽️ The path to better fitness starts with understanding yourself, including recognizing the positive habits you already have. Unpack your personal journey one step at a time to improve your health effectively.
01:03:19 🍽️ Overeating during stress can be a common issue, and it's crucial to address both food choices and underlying stress factors for better health.
01:07:14 🍔 Human metabolism goes through distinct phases, and understanding these phases can help in managing weight effectively.
01:13:44 🥗 Eating mindfully and avoiding overeating can prevent excess body fat storage, promoting better health.
01:17:13 🍳 Timing your meals to allow for fasting periods, especially overnight, can help your metabolism burn stored fat.
01:21:56 🥦 Dietary fiber feeds your gut microbiome, which, in turn, influences various aspects of your health, including metabolism and mental well-being.
01:24:29 🥦 Dr. William Li recommends a diet rich in fiber, vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains, seeds, healthy oils, and seafood for overall health. He advises against a predominantly red meat or high-saturated fat diet.
01:27:04 🕒 To improve metabolism, focus on eating less and consider time-restricted feeding, setting specific eating windows. Awareness of when you eat can help streamline your metabolism.
01:29:04 🍅 Some foods, like tomatoes, chili peppers, avocados, broccoli, and others, contain natural chemicals that activate brown fat, helping to burn harmful white fat and boost metabolism.
01:35:00 😴 To improve sleep quality, engage in physical activity during the day, avoid stimulants like caffeine close to bedtime, moderate alcohol intake, and avoid overeating close to bedtime. Addressing stress and emotional well-being is also crucial for a good night's sleep.

I started the intermittent fasting in January of this year 2023 and it works for me. I am down 30 pounds, I have found what works for me and I am happy about it! I have no more aches and pain my body is not stiff anymore. I no longer have acid reflex, my gut problems are gone. I walk at less 3-4 miles a day, my energy level is much better.

@@NansGlobalKitchen I do the 16/8 I eat after 11:00 am, if I eat breakfast it will be oatmeal with fruit or nuts or eggs with sausage or bacon. I cut back on carbs and bread, I will have a snack at 3:00 pm nuts or fruit. Plenty of water and herbal tea throughout the day. I eat dinner around 6:00 meat and plenty of veggies maybe mashed potatoes or brown rice. I stop 🛑 eating at 7:00 and back to my fasting. I also do a water 💦 fast three days every other week. This is what truly works for me, my blood pressure is down no more aches and pains due to inflammation. I also go every other week without meat, I really do believe that what causes inflammation in the body! I do the three days water 💦 fast because our body need a break from food to heal. I eat twice a day and never hungry. i eat grass fed beef, free range chicken and other clean meats, free range eggs, wild fish, sardines , some beans, green veggies, berries, avocados and nuts and coffee, and herb teas and ACV in my water. I am eating from all food groups:) .wow, it killed the sweet cravings and i am losing weight naturally without losing my hair! unlike when i am only following one type of "diet" . I am not active and have a desk job. this is the only eating pattern that worked for me. I am not a fanatic for one type of diet. I incorporate what is good from carnivore, paleo, keto, IF method, I removed all the bad oils - i use grass fed butter, coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil only. I think I can sustain this. . My goal is to get an MRI scan to see how much belly fat I have and how much I need to remove :) I do not believe in eat this "One thing and lose weight" . Our bodies are more complicated that this and It is hard to study and isolate one food because we eat different foods each meal. However, I will incorporate these good food items in my meals as I learn something new. Thank you for this valuable podcast! You are better than my GP:) . No more sugars, and anything baked or boxed wheat products for me, and sadly rice and most grains. I might incorporate whole grains later after my body is healed but I have diabetes T2 which is gone for now and breads and grains and starches raise my blood sugar, so I know I can't eat these food if I want to keep my blood sugar low. I get my carbs from green vegetables and berries now:)

@@delhargis2219 Alternate-day fasting (ADF) is an intermittent fasting approach. The basic idea is that you fast on one day and then eat what you want the next day. This way you only need to restrict what you eat half of the time. On fasting days, you're allowed to drink as many calorie-free beverages as you like AKA Water, Tea, or Coffee, but that's about it. 42/6 means fast for 42 hours, eat in a 6 hour window.

Yes and actually poor sleeping habits is what can cause us to gain weight and not being able to lose it.
Yes stay hydrated but there is a catch to that too, if you keep drinking excessively you are peeing out all the necessary minerals and it can actually be more harmful than healthy. So drinking those 8 tall glasses of water a day might not only keep you in the bathroom all day but draining your body of necessary minerals.

    • @JCX-9
      @JCX-9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Fasting is wonderful but the eating windows should consist of nutritionally dense foods, this even helps you to be successful at fasting because you are providing your body with the nutrients it needs to function properly and keeps you satiated longer . I hear lot of people who claim to eat junk but think that fasting will help them to keep their weight down. The ignorance out there is overwhelming and sometimes these health doctors don’t go into enough detail to emphasize this.

Thank you for taking your precious time to educate us so we can live a long, healthy life! The only thing I'm finding difficult in eating seafood is my location in Minnesota. Thank you for this valuable knowledge which you share with us , I'm learning a lot about my health. Most doctors here in TH-cam live in warm even hot countries where body doesn't need much food to keep the right temperature. If you live in warm tropical countries it's very easy to go on diet and eat less, but for those who live in countries with cold climate it's very difficult. I live in Scotland, it's cold here, we must save on using gas and electricity to heat our homes and bodies. You wake up listening to Dr. Lee but after the hideo finishes you go to the kitchen and eat anything you have in the kitchen to warm up your body. You don't want to do that but you can't because you want to eat or drink something which your brain is asking.

Sometimes it takes years to ruin our bodies. Humans are omnivores just from one look at our teeth you can see we are meant to eat variety of foods. We should be looking to eat good quality foods. I don’t eat lot of the supermarket foods, meat or vegetables. We use our local farmers as the main source of our foods. Grass fed beef, pasture raised eggs, raw milk etc. vegetables from the farm tastes awesome. Supporting our farmers in the process.
