Im in my 60s very healthy never been sick except 3 months ago I had a brain aneurysm rupture and I collapsed. The ambulance came quickly and the surgeons at st Vincent’s in Melbourne operated the next morning. The surgeons are my heroes!!
They coiled my big aneurysm 1.5cm, i left hospital after 2 weeks fully recovered without rehab.
I am one of the lucky ones!
I’ve always eaten healthy with lots of fruit and vegetables and been very physically active. Trying to improve my diet even more now. Good interview, I love Dr. Li 🌹😘

I sleep with the head of my bed raised 6 inches. It's basically free (a few red bricks or wood). I have heard it helps drain the lymphatic and glymphatic system at night since they don't have a pump like the heart. I also have a rebounder (mini trampoline) which I heard is good for the lymphatic system.

      Correct on the mini tramp!

Thank you for your comments I appreciate them. I’d also like to share with you! We may all have reasons why we have lymphatic problems and they can differ from person to person. I do have a lymphatic problem due to a surgery I had back in 1999. They removed a lot of my lymph nodes. the loss of those lymph nodes makes it impossible for the lymphatic system to function normally like it used too🥲However, I have learned over these 36 years how I did my best to manage it the Edema, a lot of fluid retention- Yes a real challenge I must say, but over time I managed to control it somewhat! I didn’t see how bad it was at the beginning-but over time it go worse, I had to go up a size in shoe from a size 8, now a size 9. I could not do skin brushing - and not recommend if one has had cancer -Because one could spread and cause the cancer to travel to other organs, “Skin Brushing” was not for me anymore. However, if your not dealing with cancer. -then you can do “Skin Brushing” plus you will Eliminate that horrible cottage cheese look we ladies get - that we hate, I’m sure you will agree with me on that one! What your doing it flushing out all that fluid and toxins out of your lymphatic system. It works if you not under -going Cancer Treatments! There’s so much I could share with you - I’ve trained in clinical aromatherapy, Algae Treatments-so this is where I am right now! Because of time-I purchased an electric bed allowing me to keep my feet raised up throughout the night allowing the fluids to flow back up and drain out the normal way. You get up in the morning-your shoes fit but only for a short time- as your day goes on the swelling does return, But nothing like it was days and weeks before, you can manage it. Unfortunately, you’ll still have to wear a backless shoe all the time and unless it doesn’t bother - I only wear pants today! You will find you can manage and make adjustments and find shoes and clothing that covers the swelling- you can still look great in nice classic pants and nice shirts, with so many classy and famine pieces to give you a great look and TAKES YOUR MIND OF THIS CONDITION IF YOU’VE HAD LYMPH NODES. And I’ve had lymph-nodes removed. I wish I could share more to help you manage this condition. But i only have a small window here. I am in the process writing a book I’ve been in the health and beauty industry for over 20 years . Keep this one thing in mind Carbs is a big enemy to fluid retention in the body. Look for backless and pep-toe wedge style shoes. 1..This is my biggest challenge -finding. One size up. 2…it’s expensive but truly worth it!!!
3… if you don’t have cancer, or lymph nodes removed -Skin Brushing -will rid your body of Toxins. I honestly pray, someone will get a nugget in here to help mana get you challenge! I know your challenge and maybe I do a blog one of these days………

I have been a vegan for more than 15 years. I am not psychologically deprived and I am in perfect heath and full of energy contrary to my younger brothers who needed a heart surgery and another one had to have his prostate removed due to cancer. I like Dr Li very much. He is a good communicator and I follow most of what he says. Howerver some of his advices are wrong. For instance he recommends one egg per day to get two compounds that are good for our eyes. Research tells us that regularly eating eggs are not good for us. I follow Dr. Greger and Klapper advices. Verify everything you read or watch on the Internet.

Y aaay me too. I follow dr Gregor live in nyc and have met him when he spoke here. It has changed my life. I will never go back to eating eggs. Gave them up and my cholesterol went down. I follow his books and info overall. I don’t eat processed foods at all. We are so much healthier and can’t eat crap anymore! Don’t want it. Fruit taste better than refined sugar foods. I exercise daily. Keep moving! I am doing cold plunge and infrared treatments too. They added it at my fitness club. My brain is sharper too.
Nice to meet another WFPB vegan! 💃💜🙏🏻🧘🏼‍♀️

Love your teachings Dr Li- My mother told me when I was older at the age of 16-that I was in a coma for 10 days. However, she didn’t say why, or what happened. I was wondering could that effect me in my senior years - I’m living my senior years now 80 in March 2025. Would love to hear any comments on this. I was placed in a Catholic Convent where a lot of us experienced much abuse.

Doctors offices are too casual when taking blood pressure so accuracy suffers.
You need to be sitting rested/relaxed for 5 minutes before taking blood pressure.
You should not have just had coffee or caffeine in the past hour.
You need to not talk or move while it is being taken.
You should not have to go to the restroom. Holding your urine to relieve yourself will raise your blood pressure.
Your blood pressure changes thru out the day and is impacted by stress levels.
It is best to take your blood pressure at home at the same time every day under controlled circumstances and track the results.
Too many people have white coat hypertension just from going to the doctors office.
Those with hypertension should be encouraged to address this with life style changes along with medication if that does not work.
Doctors offices should tell people that lowering their weight thru diet and exercise may have the same result or better than medications.
Nutrition and exercise education should be the first option in treatment.

It feels like the cholesterol is feeding my brain. I can't explain it or would have believed it unless I felt it myself. Then I added 2 minute cold showers daily and felt even better. lol, I’m sure you realize you may not “have done everything”… how about intermittent fasting… how about experimenting with drinking bone broth vs eating avocado or MCT oil ( healthy fat) as first food after a 20-36 hour fast, how about a 72 hour fast, how about daily walking quickly outside 30 mins between 5-7am, how about at least 20 mins daily of prana yama / bow breathing meditation, a quality lions mane mushroom supplement, and assuming you’ve eliminated sugar, cow dairy, wheat, and have you been tested for sleep apnea ( causing oxygen deprivation).

It is just crazy that Doctors do not get nutrition training in Medical schools.
Every doctor visit should include some nutrition discussion. The majority of the population is over weight or obese leading to high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer. Schools and hospital cafeterias should be leading the way to good health by setting the example of what is a healthy meal and teaching people what to eat and why.. Every person in the hospital for heart disease should have a nutrition class before being checked out from the hospital with follow up education and training in nutrition. Medicare and Medicaid should require patient nutrition education as part of their standard of care. Nutrition information should be run on the hospital TV channel. Prevention needs to be emphasized to every patient. After the fact pills and surgery don't deal with the ROOT CAUSE.

Heart disease is the number one killer of people today and cancer is number two.
Being over weight is the number one factor leading to an early death.
People who are over weight have higher risks for high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
Even children today have signs of artery disease. Fast foods and sugary drinks have long term consequences.
There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese.
What is common today and "NORMAL" is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications.
Heart attacks were once only common in people over 65. Today people in their 40 are having heart attacks.
Add more plants and vegetables to your diet and less junk and overly processed foods
