I was diagnosed with psoriatc arthritis and I was determined to stop taking meds for it (they were killing my liver) I went on an anti-inflammatory diet, and started going to a local pool exercise class. And I began intermittent fasting. In a little over a year I lost 100 pounds, healed fatty liver and pre-diabetes, lowered my bp, cholesterol and triglycerides and put psoriatc arthritis into check. My last labs were completely normal, rheumatoid factor was undetectable 👍

This was a fantastic podcast. I took 3 pages of notes. Dr. Li does an excellent job of explaining metabolism and keeping it simple. I think we all pretty much know what we need to do, but Dr. Li explains the scientific reasons of why. One of my favorite things he said is that we don’t have to go all in; to just start to ease up and the body will self-correct. Other key takeaways: Fast for 12 hours, reduce processed foods, eat slow and stop eating when satisfied, eat fat-burning foods, get 7-8 hours of quality sleep, manage stress, and walk 30 minutes daily. Just got the book on kindle and i can’t wait to read it. Thank you so much!!!

I have been intermittent fasting since I was a child and now I'm 40. This was not even on purpose, like it is for most people today. It is naturally how my body functions. Most of my life people made me feel bad for not eating breakfast, but I just don't enjoy eating in the morning until I've been awake for several hours.

Been in a feeding window of 1pm-9Pm each day. Intense training while fasted in AM. I’m never hungry. 1 cup chicken/beef/fish; 1/2 cup rice at 1pm. Apple and zero sugar protein shake at 4pm. 1,500+ calorie protein/rice/cottage cheese/grilled corn giant bowl at 8pm. Nonfat Greek yogurt and strawberries, honey, a little keto granola and nonfat milk for desert. Never hungry and many days at maintenance calories or even a slight 300-400 calorie deficit. Boring same food but it works

This podcast is simply wonderful. An eye opener. The reasons on why one must allow a few hours gap after eating and before sleeping, when to resume eating, allowing the body metabolosm to do its job and more info about metabolism, analogy of quality of fuel in the tank and lastly the all or nothing approach-all points are eye openers for me. Not that I havent heard them before, but the manner in which Dr. Li explained it is so simple and profound in its effect. Thank you for this valuable podcast🙏👍

Dr. Li is bringing sanity to this information overload on metabolism and a plethora of diets, we are overwhelmed with. There is no way a sensible person could find out which is which. Some so many gurus show RCTs and Meta-Analyses to show that low carb is the way to go. Still, we have to distance saturated fat and red meat, while others very eloquently, with many research results show, that it is absolutely the high fat that would save us. I have always been wondering about this situation. In a country like Sri Lanka, where for millenniums, people have been thriving on high-carb diets and predominantly coconut oil and coconut milk, without any harmful diseases, going high fat is virtually out of the question. Also, I believe that God created this world, and its perfectly resonating and renewing systems, and initially proposed that man be a total vegetarian ( where he would be using all the starchy stuff as well). It was later, He allowed man to supplement the diet with meat as a stop-gap method, till he renews the world after his second coming. So, I see what Dr. Li brings out to be very logical and also reasonable and acceptable to an average man who trods in the middle path.

That happened to me. I did one meal a day for 1 yr plus walking every day and slowly I started gaining weight. It was because too much insulin was needed to process my one meal, then the excess insulin was stored as fat. 😢 I didn't even know that was possible until that happened. It is not goid to do Intermittent fasting all the time.

Aspartame is in chewing gum, confectionery, soft drinks and many other items. Aspartame has so many side effects egHeadaches, anxiety, depression ,seizures, heart palpation and the list goes on and on. They had a group of males and tested Aspartame on them but they had to stop as the depression got so severe. People with Bipolar are recommended to not have Aspartame. Read about the side effects. @@TheCgmullen thank you! I'll have to check them out. I okay class that was called eat right for your blood type! The reason that is important it's because every blood type has a different chemistry makeup. So even what you would assume is a healthy food sometimes causes a particular blood type to become an acidic body. Which in reality invites diseases! With all that said I am assuming that doctor Li's book of Eat to beat your diet may be close to if not the same. I've only heard him talk a little bit about it and one of the interviews I seen him in. That's why I'm assuming it may be close if not the same. He's definitely impressed me and the multiple interviews I've seen him in.
      Anyway, have a good evening.
P.S. I've learned the 2 best diets to follow, aside Eat Right for Your Blood Type are: Mediterranean diet and the Japanese diet. The Japanese have the most, oldest people living ever in the entire world. Of course they have particular food and their ocean that the rest of us do not.

Having worked with Europeans in Manhattan over many decades I cannot understand how intelligent educated Americans struggle with staying away from fast food.
My European friends, who looked fabulous by the way, instructed me not to EVER walk into a fast food establishment for ANYTHING -- not even a coffee -- not even a salad as the products in fast food places are tainted with chemicals to lengthen their shelf life and are extremely low grade ingredients to begin with. Americans are becoming fat at younger and younger ages and dying younger than their parents.
WHY does advertising have such a strangle hold on this culture that Americans willingly throw away their health to eat fast food??? When I see fast food advertisements I remember the documentaries that uncovered fecal matter in the beef and other disgusting truths -- a so-called "juicy" burger advertised by a fast food shop looks absolutely disgusting to me.
And while I occasionally eat grass-fed beef, an angiogram showed that I have squeaky clean arteries and I enjoy red wine with dinner too.

It’s not that hard to figure out. People need to lower their insulin enough and long enough that the body is able to reverse insulin resistance and every symptom caused by insulin resistance.
This typically means eating a whole food diet without sugar, processed food and processed oils. It also means not eating too many carbs and not eating so many times during the day, so the body has a chance to get into ketosis and can burn its own body fat to get rid of obesity and fatty liver.
Fasting also helps considerably with detoxing and healing the body, cleaning up old proteins in the body and producing stem cells, especially if you fast for longer periods.
People call it a ketogenic diet, but ketosis is a metabolic state in the body that allows everything to work more efficiently. Ketones are a cleaner fuel for the body than glucose is, and you’ve got to stay in ketosis long enough to build the mechanisms in the body that allow it to go back and forth between fat and glucose as fuels easily and efficiently.
Start by eliminating sugar, processed foods, and processed oils and see how you feel. If you’re having menopausal symptoms at all, you may need more fat (see Dr. Elizabeth Bright on TH-cam).
All I know is, there are so many people who have said they used ketosis and fasting to reverse insulin resistance, fatty liver, PCOS, all menopausal symptoms, fatigue, improve their vision, and help with Lyme disease and detoxification of the body. Body fat holds onto toxins that once the fat is able to burn through ketosis, it allows the toxins to be released and expelled from the body.

I had fatty liver and they told me I would need bariatric surgery to to cure it. Instead, I cut out all ultra processed foods, did clean keto (60% protein, 30% healthy carbs from veggies and berries, 10% healthy fats). Now my liver is normal.

@@LauraB.335 Laura, you explauned that very well. Just 1 thing is missing which I learned through some of my Natural Health education:
"Eat Right for Your Blood Type!"
Each blood type has a different chemistry! Because of that even healthy foods for other blood types can cause your blood type to cause your body to become Acidic. And when a body becomes too acidic, it invites disease! The class that I took pertaining to eat right for your blood type was with & by:
      Dr. Peter J. D. 'Adamo
      w/ Catherine Whitney
The Individual Diet Solutions to Staying Healthy, Living Longer & Achieving Your Ideal Weight.
      For under $10.00's
Each blood type has 3 different food lists:
Beneficial = you can't eat it all of the time!
Neutral = It's would be ok to eat some of it every now and then. (Personally, I do this but I put a limit of my servings, if or when I do so.
      Then there's the: Avoid list!
The thing's I 1st focused on was eliminating:
Wheat, Sugar and I stopped putting Processed Foods into my body! Later learned which Oil's to use with my cooking! Or which to use to make my salad dressings. P.S. on that note: Most Restaurants use oils that are bad for the body!
Still always learning to read labels!: Because they are always changing names of sugar & always claiming so called new found sugar's.
Most importantly: Do not use fake sugar's!
Example: Aspartame (to say the least:
      is terrible for the body!
      1. It inflicts more muscle spasms!
      2. It's been associated to Cancer!
I 1st learned about Ketosis from Dr. Berg, via TH-cam.
Since I haved learned: some, still learning about Dr. William Li! & I Love listening to any interviews with Dr. William Li! I even share his interviews on my FB + with individual people!
The thing that impresses me the most about Dr. William Li is that he, as well as other's are trying to help push how the medical field treats, Heal's their patients with mostly Whole Food's!
I have 3 rare disorders that is supposed to lessen my life expectancy. Which one of them tagged me extremely hard in my late 20's! My WBC had shot up to 28,000! The medical field couldn't figure it out & simply left me that way! Which I was practically dysfunctional, slept 18 hours a day! I switched from being in Drafting to Natural Health! Though we neither could (still haven't) learned the cause, but I did learn how to manage it with 1 herb once a day to be able to walk around with a more normal WBC & still be able to tell when I have an infection!
All 3 of my rare disorders are:
Unknown cause, unknown cures! I always add the word YET behind that! I'm nearly 61 year's old and continue my search for all 3 rare disorders! One of them, I woke one day in my 40's with it slamming me with mind blowing pain!!! Wow, that was intensed! It can only be manged according to the Medical field. For the 1st 3 year's it was by Pain Management. Since I've managed it with All Natural supplements! Which makes my life more manageable without toxicity! With a particular Co. that's cared enough in making sure you receive the best quality to help you achieve your goals for a healthier body. They test to make sure there are no contaminants using multiple tests. I also know that my body will absorb what I use between 10 and 20 minutes!
Doing everything I have done, (and still learning to do:) I know I have increased my life expectancy! & will continue to do so.
      Bottom line: Eat To Live!
      Here's something else to know:
"If the body has the ability to heal itself, with the Proper Nutrients for Your Blood Type It will!"
      I have also learned:
      The best diets are:
      Mediterranean Diet & Japanese Diet
Japanese people have lived the longest!
      Research it yourself!
      Anyway,
Best wishes for Everyone. I hope my post gave you mor insight for a Healthier Body!
      Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank You Dr. Li for another awesome video! I always learn something more!
      You are a Blessing!
P.S.S. 1 of my rare disorders literally took me to becoming physically disabled. Just texting this post has caused my dominant arm, hand to swell! I knew it would. But, I care about Everyone!
