I was diagnosed with UC in 2014. I am not taking any medication. I changed my diet up in 2021 to include more whole foods and less processed foods. I just had my 3 year scope today. The doctor wondered if I was misdiagnosed because it looked good. They always do biopsies and those have shown I do have it in the past. Eating better is working so far.

I have told my current doctor that he doesn't have all the answers and I understand that. I told him you are just a man. But I would like him to at least say I don't know. My quarterly visit with him this last time was about 30 seconds. No blood pressure was taken no stethoscope was put on my chest. I finally got him to look at a mole that's come up on my shoulder over the last year. Fortunately it's not anything to be concerned about. Unfortunately his lack of concern has forced me to look for a new doctor for the new year. I've gotten more information from your podcast Dr Li that I have gotten from my Dr Lee here in Texas. So thank you for sharing.

I've been watching a lot of videos about castor oil compresses. Barbara O'Neil says that it can break up anything in the body that doesn't belong there. I just recently started using it on eyelids in an attempt to get rid of cholesterol deposits in corners of eyelids and floaters. Have to give it time.
Edit 3 days later: Am I right that the one over left eye looks a bit smaller?
Last night had terrible pain in lower leg - maybe from PAD? Put a boatload of castor oil on it, no covering. In about an hr or less, I realized pain was gone and still is. Had that pain off and on - mostly on, for years. Why didn't one of my many drs tell me about this?

Just to add, I contracted covid (in Britain) in early 2020. I wasn't tremendously unwell, but it completely dysregulated my autonomic nervous system. POTS, tachycardia etc etc. The interesting thing was the gut response. I could feel a sudden lurch around the diaphragm, and then the tachycardia would start. Eventually I got to some understanding of the vagus nerve, what it does, how it works etc, vagus nerve regulation via breathwork. I do still get blips, but focussing on breathing techniques plus the sort of diet that Dr Li talks about has helped tremendously. Initially I had brain fog and could barely remember how to speak! Now I'm learning Welsh. I think the whole thing around the microbiome, neuroplasticity, cognitive function is fascinating!!

But the ‘after-math’ is what‘s hard to digest. I spotted a cliche repeated by nurses. They claimed they were told this while being trained by the pharmaceuticals marketing department. They are prescribing a medication that it was created for diabetic people but “by accident they discover that it helps other patients with compromised health”.
It’s mainly to drain any excess of glucose from your body so the heart doesn’t have to work so hard. Is what’s been prescribed to help you lose weight🤩👍. But…😳⚠️☢️☣️ At what price?

One thing not gone into here is the fact that - while Coffee and Cao-Cao are healthy - the high-heat fast-drying methods used by most companies causes high-levels of Mycotoxins to develop in the beans, which are a major environmental/fietary source of toxicity which damages Our bodies/brains. If We’re including Coffee and Chocolate in Our diets, it’s crucial to source those brands which dry their beans in the correct way - and that test them for Mycotoxins.

I eat it 3 times a week so I don't get sensitized to Okra & get intolerance or allergic reactions to Okra . It has a lot of soluble fiber.

      I cook it with chicken.
      Clean the chicken pieces.
Fry them in cooking olive oil.
When the chicken gets a little brown.
      Take out any excess oil.
Add purple or white cut onion
A few pieces of chile serrano
      3-4 pieces of garlic
      Before the onion gets caramelized
      Add fresh cut tomatoe.
Let it fry a bit, not much.
Optional: tomatoe paste follows if you like.
Now you can add boiled water & add your spices:
      Hot paprika
      Cumin powder
      Garlic powder
      Iodized salt
      Let it cook a bit.
Then add the fresh cut okra
Must have enough water so it does not dries up.
Once the okra is cooked is done. Should be soupy.
Serve it with bizmati rice on the side.
Rice must be rinsed in tap water.
Then, soak in bottled water for at least 20-30 minutes with a bit of extra virgen oil, spices such as cinnamon stick, dry black lemon, and cloves, as you wish.
Discard the water and place the rice in a pot with hot water and a bit of butter.
Cook in a low fire for 20 minutes and close the lid, checking that the water does not dry.
If the water is drying, check with a spoon and taste the rice to see if it is done. If not done, add a bit more of boiling water, but not much until it is cooked but not burned.
Serve it with a cucumber youghurt salad.
      Cut the cucumber in pieces
      Add youghurt
1-2 small garlic pieces shredded or squashed
      Add salt to taste
      When done garnish on top:
      Dry mint
      Extra virgen olive oil.
This is Mediterranean, Middle East cooking with a touch of Mexican cuisine.

Dr. Li, I have recently gone through chemo and I'm cancer free. I have read about cancer stem cells and that sometimes they will remain in the body. I have asked doctors about this and no one can answer me, and I've not been able to find any information; when we eat to stimulate the good stem cells in our body, are the cancer stem cells also being stimulated? Because I don't know, I am in a place of being frozen and not knowing what to do. I would greatly appreciate a response of some sort 🙏

Small pan in bigger pan of water. Throw in 5 or 6 + cubes chocolate, 1 tablespoon crunchy (pea) nut butter, 180ml (137) almond milk, dash of salt (Celtic), 3 tablespoons of collagen, monk fruit syrup to taste, vanilla to taste. Add 1 tablespoon of coconut cream or whipping cream. Optional and extra good some sort of added sugar free syrup like caramel emulsion.
I just have a cheap.icecream pan. Pour it in and sprinkle little specs of more peanut butter, or nuts or berries or whatever. it freezes up in an hour to hour half. Perfect size treat, no extra to tempt you.

Japanese Matcha (green powdered tea) has much more catechine than dark chocolate. It works. On top, you get a dose of caffeine corresponding to that of coffee, however, unlike the bad side effects of coffee, this doesn't happen with matcha, because matcha contains theanine, which conteract the bad side effects of the caffeine, works directly on the central nerveous symstem as a strong relaxant and promotes alpha waves and neurotransmitters, like dopamine, in the brain, which induces a state of contentment and calmness, improves concentration, memory and the ability to learn.

I also heard the same thing about bergamot (Grey Earl tea) it calls out the stem cells to do the same thing. I will try dark chocolate cocoa, too.

I am listening to your podcast and because my brain works in strange ways I had a question when you were talking about brown fat, Do you suppose that this is the generator that Buddhistmonks in the Himalaya mountains switch on during their meditations in the winter time to generate body heat? Thank you.

When it comes to sugar, I’ll look for products that are sweetened with monk fruit sweetener. It’s a natural fruit and it does not affect your A1C.

Need to either not cook broccoli or other cruciferous veggies or add something after cooking as teams > 250 breaks down the chemicals that form sulforaphane. Adding fresh mustard or some other things can allow it to be retained.

Would my bladder problems be able to be reversed.? I self medicated with ketimine to cure my bi polar, depresion and adhd. The therapy seems to have worked and I am now able to live a proper life but the down side is the bladder problems. I am a horticulrist, I grow my own food and herbs and also learning medicinal aspectects of plants.

I could not drive at night. I couldnt sense depth well as the sun started goin down. I semi retired, so had time to eat better, and have fresh spinach salad daily almost daily often including blueberries and plain olive oil and salt dressing. After a few months, i could see after dark again! So ya, food works!
