In terms of design, the wave ceptor is such an underrated watch in Casio's catalogue. Much like the original design of the squares, it got this look of something the confident man would wear without the need to show off like the oversized G Shocks.
You always have a great video you're the man when it comes to the Casio watches I bought so many of them watching your videos I want to appreciate you and thank you very much😊😊😊
Thanks. I hope I answered all the right questions before you bought your watches. That’s pretty-much how I decide what to talk about. I answer the questions I would have asked.
Even though I'm in the 'States, I've been using both the 24-hour cycle and the European date/month format ever since taking Spanish in Jr.High school! I think it's a novel &🤓😎 to keep up with how nations tell time globally! & a way to ward off senility by forcing the aging🧠 to convert both standards to the US standards!
Greg, I now have you to blame for my latest Casio: couldn't resist after watching this review. I'm happy that I succumbed to the temptation - it's a really great watch. I chose the tan. Thanks for enabling an affordable addiction. :))
I was so happy when I was at a Walmart and found one on clearance for about $10. It was a Greg Anderson moment. 😉. Mine is an R but I wish it was an A with the EL backlight. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the clear explanations of your different videos, especially regarding the 5 radio bands. 👍 Too bad Casio chose the amber color to replace the blue of the old version. 👎 But I can't decide between 5AEF and 3AEF. 😐 Hello from France. 🥐
I just got a Wave Ceptor! Module 5161... I guess it checks nightly 5 or 6 times... in my apartment building I will almost never get a signal, so I am tempted to turn off the auto-receive. I went outside last night and got a signal, so I should be good for a few weeks at least. I wish there was a setting between "On" and "Off"... like... instead of trying to receive every night, try to receive once a week or something. But it's still very cool! Thanks for the video.
Try wrapping it around something metal overnight - I use the metal curtain rod in my bedroom. My WV59 syncs every single night. It boosts the signal like an antenna. Am on east coast of usa.
There might not be on this older model but I know some of the more modern watches do have optional on and off and auto. For example, the multi band 6 tough Solar GWM5610U for $100-150 has which is a square g shock
You can turn off automatic atomic time reception. Press and hold Adjust in receiving mode and you can turn it off. 10 months and my metal version was +30 sec. Just sync once a week - manually. Everynight use will drain battery.
I really loved this and have gotten this one based on your video. I was wondering if you could also please make a video showing how to replace the battery and strap here. Not that I would want to do it but good to have your video in case we need to do it. Great content and many thanks.
Excellent, clear video. I bought a Wave Ceptor a few days ago thinking it's probably a watch for surfers (which I am totally not). I just like Casio and I liked the look, so I grabbed one on a post-Xmas sale for next to nothing. Big was my surprise when I read about atomic time in the manual. After watching Greg's video I am impressed all over with Casio. These guys build really good stuff for people who don't have $ to splurge. Subscribed.
thanks. I thought the multi band picked up more than one station in the USA. (didn't know there is just one) SO, no reason to get the 200R-3ACF. The 58 with metal case and band that is incoming is all I need. Tho I might get a solar version "someday" as well. QUESTION: If I ever visit Canada, does the single band work there as well?
I just found mine in storage after watching this video. Mine says WV 58A. It looks like the one you got from Sears. We haven't had Sears in forever so it must be an older model?
A really nice video with sufficient information. Keep up the great work! I live in Tanzania, Africa and appreciate the feature of atomic timekeeping for the Multiband 5. I think it might work here too, since Tanzania uses UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), even though there are no atomic time stations here. Unlike some other standards, such as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), UTC is not adjusted for daylight saving time. It’s based on TAI (International Atomic Time), which averages hundreds of atomic clocks worldwide and is approximately one second off from mean solar time at the prime meridian (0° longitude). In essence, UTC keeps our world ticking in sync! 😊🌐🕰️
I like the way you explain and your interest in accurate time keeping. As many of us are now moving toward Smart Watches, it would be nice if you could compare the time accuracy amongst different brands Smart watches, such as Samsung vs Apple vs Other Brands.
Frak Casio with their crap LED backlight! This is not an upgrade but a huge downgrade. Who cares for MB5 on another continent? You want an uprage? How about a longer stopwatch for 24hours or a countdown timer for 24 hours that can be set to the second instead the same ancient technology with other colors. Calling this models an upgrade is an insult to every person with a brain left.
It has 200m water resistant but you don't have atomic time reception is space or in the bottom of the ocean. Its accurate +-15 sec per month , then why it needs atomic time sync? It has this useless display graphs for time reception level that makes it look like watch for kids. It has only 1 alarm and 60 min timer - so its lacking in functions. The only attractive feature for me is the european day-month format and the buttons. Overall useless watch...
I really like how easily you explain watch operation.
Agreed. Greg is a very likable nigga
Always nice to hear Greg explain timekeeping.

Gr8 watches, Greg. Nice that a watch has the day on first before the month for us European friends.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Hello from France. 🥐
After getting my one and only multiband 6/tough solar watch awhile back, the GWM500A-1, I'm definitely wanting more.
I just got a Wave Ceptor! Module 5161... I guess it checks nightly 5 or 6 times... in my apartment building I will almost never get a signal, so I am tempted to turn off the auto-receive. Hah, being in Utah your signal receive for the time is probably pretty quick and reliable.
Try wrapping it around something metal overnight - I use the metal curtain rod in my bedroom. My WV59 syncs every single night. It boosts the signal like an antenna. Am on east coast of usa.

confirming we do have summertime in london
Great video as always. This is subjective but I think the WV-200R is the best looking digital display Casio today.
You can turn off automatic atomic time reception. Press and hold Adjust in receiving mode and you can turn it off. 10 months and my metal version was +30 sec. Just sync once a week - manually. Everynight use will drain battery.
Nice watches. I like the new green one.

Very informative Pal , thanks 👍
good classic casio
I have the Casio WV-59J which is also multi-band 5, I often wonder why the decision was made to give some watches mb5 and others mb6
This model came out when MB5 was the norm, which is before 2008.
OK thanks for that
thanks. I thought the multi band picked up more than one station in the USA. (didn't know there is just one)

QUESTION:
If I ever visit Canada, does the single band work there as well?
Yes it does. Same in Mexico
cool❤❤❤
This was a great explanation

Legend
They’re available for $21 now at Walmart
Please give us the lug-to-lug for some of these big Casios.

Greg me old china. Question: what's the difference between Casio F108 and the W218?
They appear to be the same. Thanks ✌️
Difference in case and strap design.
Do these watches work automatically when going to Czech Republic?🇨🇿🇨🇿🇨🇿🇨🇿
Thanks for the tutorial.
Great video!
These are really cool , unfortunately at 55 my eyes are getting old and I need reading glasses to see them so I stick with analog watches now
God speed old nigga
I own a few of those!
thx A LOT!!
How many alarms does it have? Not sure if I missed it but it kinda looked like it only had one alarm.
Yes, it has a single alarm.
This watch can show 3 city time like ae ,3000 old model ?
Thanks
Smarter than Rolex would you agree ??
💯
👍
With solar, that would be a hot item with that extensive display.
Why can't Casio use cool fonts in more watches.
Cuz casio aint wit dat gay font shit nigga
