    I bought the WV-200A about 3 years ago from Walmart for $20. After watching this video I am just now fully understanding the features and see how good of a deal this watch was and still works awesome and a good alternate to my DW-5600E which I also bought from Walmart for $30 last year. Thank you for making such a thorough video.

    I own one of these and when you hold and feel it it feels way more expensive and fancy than its price would make people expect. Such a nice product to hold in your hand.

    I've had the wv-58a for 12 years now. Changed the battery 2 times. I recently got the g shock gw6900 and the protrek 270. The 58a has better contrast and crisper digits than the other two much more expensive watches. It's got everything except for solar. The buttons are much easier to push than those tiny ones on g shocks. I paid about $25 with discounts from sears back in 2008. I'll probably send back the g shock and the protrek. I can't justify the premium for g shocks just for the "toughness" factor.

    I wore the WV-200DA for a few years, I bought one when I was about 12 in 2013, the battery ran out a while ago and the metal bracelet deformed and broke as my wrist grew. I wanna fix it someday but I know the battery last only 2 years when I can just buy a g-shock with solar charging

    If they Casio included Tough Solar on these models I'd be sold! Thanks to your videos though I'm going to pick up a WVA-M630D-2AJF to enjoy while saving up for the all metal G-Shock model GMW-B5000D-1JF. Cheers!

      yeah but they only cost $40....solar will drain Fast if you use Light or features often...or if you accidently bump buttons and drain solar battery, you're screwed.

      @@94SexyStang in 10 years my G-5600E-1 has only gone down to medium charge twice, so I'm not worried about occasionally needing to give a solar bath to my Tough Solar watches now and then.

    I have an old WV200A. I am debating getting a battery for it, but I recall giving up on it when it would randomly reset itself. Sometimes when wearimg it, sometimes when sitting on a a shelf. Has anyone else had that problem?

    • @tarheelred28390
      @tarheelred28390 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      *_YES SIR!!!!! In my case however, the malfunction of resetting itself befalls when I depress the Mode (C) or Forward/Receiving (D) buttons consecutively. I hate when that happens!!!_*

      *_We need to do some more digging on this issue guys. Mine says “Made in China” with DH that follows a few spaces afterward. What about y’all?_*
      *_All SOLAR G-Shocks have an eight digit alpha numerical postscript on the case. The first four digits are a factory code. The last four digits of the alpha numeric code notes the date of manufacture. I got that info from Watch Geek, another stellar watch reviewer on You Tube. That info won’t avail us any since this model is only Wave Ceptor but its good info to know & look for._*

    Soo.. I don't really understand, why are there 2 DST indicators after all.. ? (one with a [Down] arrow and one with an [Up] arrow.. )

    • @GoodTimekeeper
      @GoodTimekeeper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. It’s because when the watch is not in the basic timekeeping mode it will show the local time in that smaller window. So, for example, in the World Time mode you still see your local time in the smaller readout. Then the watch will indicate whether it’s showing DST in either of those places (upper or lower) or neither or both.

    Enjoying your videos. So well explained. I have another question: are there any Casio watches where I can manually add a timezone (TOR for Toronto, for example)? Or where I can rename a timezone (CHIcago to TORonto, for example). I would like to have TORonto (Canada) and HAMburg (Germany).
    Thank you.

    • @GoodTimekeeper

      I suppose Casio decided to do more than just change the color of the band and bezel. I found a picture of the red watch on another website and it seems to match your description. So I wouldn’t worry about it. www.sakurawatches.com/casio-wave-ceptor-wv-200r-4ajf

    Is it Lithium CR1620 or is it CR2016 battery? Just wanted to clarify. The 2016 is like a coin. The 1620 should be thick and smaller in diameter. These watches are useless in India (no radio towers), so I use a DW5600E and F-91W. Both take CR2016.

    • @kato223
      @kato223 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Both Waveceptor watches at 0:47 the WVA-58A and the WVM60-9A both use the Lithium CR1620 batteries. Every version of the watch in this video uses the CR1620.

    I’ve just picked up one of these BUT even after following your excellent instructions I still can’t (1) do either an overnight signal receive or a manual. I can get the watch to show GET and then a flashing ON/OFF and flashing signal strength but it won’t then show RC!. The last time signal was received shows ‘29/11/2014’. Neither can I get any sound for both the hourly chime or when alarm time is reached. It doesn’t beep when you press button C to change modes - yes I have toggled the MUTE display. Finally pressing button B doesn’t light up the display. Before I open the back does it take rechargeable cell battery? Is there only 1 battery or a separate battery just for the light? I’m pretty sure I’m doing something not quite right using the buttons but I can’t work out what! Any help would be appreciated please!! Dennis (leviset@mac.com)

    Why would anyone own so many of essentially the same watch? Waste of money. You will be sorry you took so much money from the investment pool just to own a pile of essentially the same thing. Thin of how much charity good you might have done, instead. Um ... er... just my opinion, it IS your call to make. Just thinking it is a big waste. JP
