As far as I'm concerned, all same tier BBs have the same fire chance reduction multiplier. A big advantage Fusō has over her competition however is reduction in HE damage taken. Her incremental armor scheme has an 8" casemate belt and 6" upper belt, above the 12" waterline main belt, as well as a 4" waterline end belt extending all the way to the bow. In addition the amidships weather deck is 35mm thick. This means 2/3 of Fusō's side profile is immune to cruiser HE (see the video, 8" pens 33mm and IFHE 6" 32mm) and HE does no damage to it. In fact even whole salvoes of HE from King George V have been taken on the side for zero damage. Compare this to New Mexico or Queen Elizabeth, for example. New Mexico is 25mm everywhere except the main belt and Queen Elizabeth also has 25mm decks and upper belts that will eat HE damage Fusō does not.
Video is lacking... You should have been more in depth instead of referring to the AP video. You didn't talk about angles of armor, which HE nullifies. You are unclear about HE explosion cube... You said it only damages the part it hits on a ship... Then later say it affects other parts it doesn't. No information about shattering weather it reduces fire chance or negates it.
Always interesting, but I would have expected fire damage to be part of this video. Also, why do some nations HE shells not ricochet, etc? I would have like to know of the logic behind that mechanic and why it was applied to some nations but not others.
useful to point out you ignore real world data on explosive damage, you also ignore the fact that in WWII the US Navy had developed a new explosive that had 2 times the explosive force per unit volume as TNT which the other nations were still using
Instruction unclear, regular (1/6) 152mm HE shell didn't penetrate 25mm plating. 152mm penetration is ~25.33mm rounded to 25mm, to penetrate 25mm armor, need at least 1mm more. Mogami 155mm penetrates 25.83mm rounded to 26mm, able to damage 25mm. 203mm penetrates 33.83mm, rounded to 34mm -> damage to 33mm armor, same as in vid. But no further info. Or maybe I missed it in this vid.

@@nicholaslau3194 no they have not. I am still waiting for the formula to know a shell's penetration after firing. Great video! Didn't know HE can damage the magazines of a ship before watching this.... but still, kind of feel it is a bit weird that HE can damage the magazine without penetrating the plating.
Something you guys should've mentioned, and that seems to cause a lot of confusion among new players: If an HE shell has the same mm of penetration than the armor it is hitting, it won't penetrate the armor, because it's not enough for the shell to match the armor it is hitting, it needs to beat that armor by at least 1mm. A great example to test this: Gearing has a 21mm plate in the middle of the ship, so if you hit that plate with a 127mm HE shell, it will always shatter (127/6=21.165, which is rounded down to 21, which is only enough to match Gearing's 21mm plate), but if you hit that same plate with a 130mm HE shell, it will penetrate (130/6=21.66, which is rounded up, thus reaching 22 and beating Gearing's 21mm plate by 1mm).
Good Job, this game is really interesting and complexity, my first impressions is 10/10, i love this game soo much. Sorry for my simple English, i'm from Brazil. 😅
1:16. This is important. First it confirms that German CAs get the 1/4 penetration (this always seemed hazy to me) but I was surprised to find out that British BBs get 1/4 penetration as well. No wonder Conquerors spam HE...
HE shells in this game are more Incendiary than explosive. Especially British BBs' HE. Those are basically *NAPALM* bombs with *insane* fire causing capability. PS. Keep shooting at Fusou. Literally no reason to stop.
WG: *Litterally explains how much damge an HE shell does while it depends on what you hit* World of warships legends Players while having a heavy cruiser: AIM FOR THE DECK!!!!
If the HE Shell hits the water not the ships hull then the damage stated is wrong! Because the water will absorb the blast and fire force, So that is very bad in game reactions to a missed water hit blast. affecting the hull even though the shell missed it.
It was explained in past videos shells do maximum damage on citadel hits, HE or AP, but understandably is not made that clear. HE only scores citadels on ships with external citadel plating thinner than 1/6 the incoming shell's calibre. A good example on this would be the citadel roof deck of Emerald (25mm?) which can be citadelled by heavy cruiser (203.2mm+) shells. If say a Pensacola (2800 HE max damage) landed a shell on Emerald's citadel roof it would do 2800 damage. Of course if you hit an external layer like a torpedo bulge or shot a French cruiser with the citadel inside the ship etc. your HE will never reach the citadel plating to damage it.
Max damage displayed on stats screen, in the game or anywhere. 1/6 to the entire hull and 1/6 to hit location (regular penetration). And citadel, max damage, similar to AP shells.
HE has a 1/6th OR 1/4th pen - if the armour is so thin you can actually penetrate the citadel - and deal the maximum dmg of the HE shell (which is usually around 1/3 that of AP shells - or 1/2 for RN BBs).
The lack of mention about spaced armor is concerning; if an HE shell hits anything not an integral part of the ship, like a torpedo bulge, it can't inflict damage, even with a penetration...
5:46 - IFHE on Iowa - I guess we found a skill more potato for bbs than using Survivability Expert. At least use it on a viable battleship with 1/4 HE pen such as the Monqueror - so that you can citadel any T10 cruiser citadel belt at any angle with HE (Yamato can suck it with her lolpen - cause she can't do that as her shells would bounce, without penning the bow instead)
