Good question on the rims, I haven't plastidip my rims before so not sure. If you google "Dipyourcar", they sell wheel kits, it's like plastidip (hyperdip is their verison). @@SpendingJar thanks a lot !!! I will be waiting on your next video , I saved your video for when it’s time to do my trim and emblems I just go and review your video lol , will be doing it next weekend!!!
Looks amazing but when you peel off the excess, why doesn't the chrome covering come off as well or do you need to run a blade round the edge to get a clean line?
No knife is needed. If there are any edges/groves where the plastidip is covered, it'll cut off along that edge/groves. Hope that makes sense. I have another badge I want to Hyperdip/Plastidip, I'll try to show/explain it in that future video. Thanks for watching 👍
I guess it depends on what your climate is. If it's humid, I would wait a bit longer between sprays vs if its a dry area. I think 15-30mins. For peel off I let mine sit I think 30 mins. It's been a long time, but I mention all the spray and peel time in my video. Thanks for checking it out!
Hey did you dip those wheels? Are they 16” or 17”. I have the same wheels with 16” and thinking of making them dark grey like yours, they’re silver now.
Hi, these are factory black 17" rims. I did not plastidip them. I've seen people plastidip or hyperdip them. I'm gonna hyperdip my other badages to compare soon. Hyperdip is another company like plastidip but with more color and finishes. I bought piano black gloss hyperdip to try out. I'll have a video on them, it's getting warm enough to spray here.
@@SpendingJar I’m currently dipping the trim on my 23’ Civic EX. Alittle messy but seems hood so far, unfortunately the weather here is about 50c and windy
Thanks! I would say it has a satin-ish finish. Its definitely not glossy. They do sell a separate spray can if ya wanted to make it glossy. Best of luck on yours! 👍
Thanks! It's been awhile but I mention the time in the videos. But mainly I guess it'll depend on what your climate is right now, humid vs dry. I do have a few cans of Hyperdip I was to try out on my other emblems. I'm waiting till the weather improves. I'll have a video out on Hyperdip asap. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for such great content sir! I’ll be doing this to my 2022 camry. It might be bit challenging coz the chrome is all the way around the windows. How is yours holding up now that it’s more than a year? How is the weather in your area? It gets really hot here in texas and rains can get crazy too. How is plastidip different from hyperdip? What kind of tape did you use and where did you get them from including the wipes? I hope you can find time to respond. I just got quoted 300 bucks for my camry so this is a much better option.
Sorry for the late response, I was out of reach over the weekend. Mine is holding up well so far. I pressure wash my car at home with no issues. Weather here in CA can get hot, and the past few months, we've been getting lots of rain and cold weather, but no problem. As far as plastidip vs hyperdip. Hyperdip is a separate company that's similar to plastidip but with their own formula. They do provide way more color options and finishes in one. I used painter tape that I got from homedpot, and the lens wipes was, I think, from Costco. For fraction of the price, I think it's worth trying out. A few hours of your time, 1 bottle of plastidip or hyperdip and other materials is still way cheaper than $300. Hope this helps and best of luck on your project 👍
Hi and thanks! I think I did 6 or 7 coats. First 3 coats were light and then the rest was a bit more, that wet look but not runny. Good luck on yours 👍 Hope it turns out great!
Thank you for checking out the video! Appreciate he support! I'm not sure which window panel your referring too but the steps should be very similar. Clean, mask, spray, and peel :)
It's very resistant from what I can tell. I've had it over a year and it's still holding on strong with no issues. Car wash, I pressure wash it myself at home and again no problems. I'm not sure how it'll handle an automatic car wash since I haven't tried yet. Hope this helps and thanks for checking out the video 👍

Looks great! I am planning to do the same thing on my Civic. Just one question, why not put the tape right along the chrome edges so there is no excess to peel off after? Or does it look better if you have the excess that just peels off exactly at the edges?
Thanks! You want to leave a little room to peel off and have a clean cut when peeling. If it's too close, it might peel the chrome part of the plastidip with it. Good luck on your Civic 👍 Hope it turns out great!
@@SpendingJar I'm gonna be honest, it did not work out well. I did the badges, they came out well and still holding up, but I tried doing the chrome window trim a couple of times.. never came out well. Big waste of time and cans of spray. I cleaned it all off and just went with black wrap sticker cut-outs (ordered online), which came out better. I would've preferred the plastidip method but just glad to black it out eventually.
@tqsuited sorry to hear that. Glad atleast the badages came out good. I'm gonna hyperdip/plastidip my audi badages soon since the weather is starting to warm up. I'll have a video on it. Again, glad it all worked out at the end of ya 👍

I pressure wash my car at home and have not taken to a car wash. I'm guessing machine car wash has a higher chance vs hand car wash. Hopefully someone that has might share their experience.
Hi! I wait about 15 mins in between sprays. Low humidity and the temp was around in the 90's. Depending where you live you might have to wait a bit longer. No cutting, just peel off. If you mess up, you can peel if off and start over. Best of luck on your IS300, hope it turns out great 👍
I purchased some vinyl wrap to cover the chrome trim. I tried installing it and didn't have the results I was looking for. I wasn't too crazy about having a sharp razor blade anywhere near my paint. Not to mention I really didn't like how it was sticking in place. I was thinking it was a little too cold the day I tried doing it. After watching this video and others using the Plasti dip product I think I am going to give it a try. Question: Why didn't you mask up to the rubber seal around the trim? Seems like a waste of the product to me.
Hey thanks for checking out the video. I left the plastidip on the rubber seal. You can mask it off and peel it or leave it on like I did. I figure it be easier to peel the paint side on top and the window side below the seal. Best of luck on your project, hopefully the video helps, and it comes out great 👍

I bought Hyperdip for my other emblems but haven't installed it yet. I'll have a video up on it once I do. Hope this helps.
@@SpendingJar thanks a lot !!! I will be waiting on your next video , I saved your video for when it’s time to do my trim and emblems I just go and review your video lol , will be doing it next weekend!!!
nothing stuck in the door jams when you opened the door?
I had peeled off all the excess off and wiped clean any residue. As far as I can remember, nothing was stuck in the jams.
Bro you did this and you didn't tell people how to tape the trim around the window there's certain ways to do it
Looks amazing but when you peel off the excess, why doesn't the chrome covering come off as well or do you need to run a blade round the edge to get a clean line?
Thanks! No blade, as long as there is an edge, the plastidip will cut along that edge when you peel. Hopefully that made sense.
can u go thru a car wash after this proses
I haven't tried, I pressure wash the car at home. But it's been holding up well so far.
@@SpendingJar And you only used one bottle?
Yes one can and had some plastidip left over.
No need for an exacto knife? It just peels off right where it needs to? How does it know?
No knife is needed. If there are any edges/groves where the plastidip is covered, it'll cut off along that edge/groves. Hope that makes sense. I have another badge I want to Hyperdip/Plastidip, I'll try to show/explain it in that future video. Thanks for watching 👍
How is a good time to wait for the next coat and to peel it off?
I guess it depends on what your climate is. If it's humid, I would wait a bit longer between sprays vs if its a dry area. I think 15-30mins. For peel off I let mine sit I think 30 mins. It's been a long time, but I mention all the spray and peel time in my video. Thanks for checking it out!
Looks good 👍
Hey did you dip those wheels?
@csrussell21231 nice! Best of luck on your project and congrats on your new Civic 👍
Looks good. I’m doing mine. Is that satin black?
Thanks! I would say it has a satin-ish finish. Its definitely not glossy. They do sell a separate spray can if ya wanted to make it glossy. Best of luck on yours! 👍
Do you peel right after the 5th spray?
After the last spray, wait for it to dry and then peel. Hope this helps and best of luck on your project 👍
Awesome video. Did you give 15 mins between each spray? Is it the same for hyperdip?
@@SpendingJar It does help my good Sir! Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it. I enjoy your vids. New subscriber here!
Nice, going to do my 2012 Accord 66,how many coats did you do?
Hi and thanks! I think I did 6 or 7 coats. First 3 coats were light and then the rest was a bit more, that wet look but not runny. Good luck on yours 👍 Hope it turns out great!
Love this!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Great video! I wanted to know if you could do one on the window panel n how to paint!
Thank you for checking out the video! Appreciate he support! I'm not sure which window panel your referring too but the steps should be very similar. Clean, mask, spray, and peel :)
What about water? Heavy rain, car wash. How water resistant is plastidip?
It's very resistant from what I can tell. I've had it over a year and it's still holding on strong with no issues. Car wash, I pressure wash it myself at home and again no problems. I'm not sure how it'll handle an automatic car wash since I haven't tried yet.
Hope this helps and thanks for checking out the video 👍
Here's my 1 year+ plastidip video if you want to check it out. It's very short less than 2 min watch.

Hi, did you put any adhesive on the chrome first before spraying the plasti dip?
Hi, no adhesive. Simply clean the chrome and spray. Thanks for checking out the video 👍
@@SpendingJar still replying after all this time! Thank you buddy, I'm going to use it on my A6.
@@jqpublic3104 Oh nice! Best of luck on your A6! I need to work on my next emblems but been putting it off, Audi as well. Hopefully I'll drop the video soon. Thanks again!
Hi there, great job, just wanted to ask if you wash the car does the plasti dip come off?
Hi and thank you! No, it stays on my from experience. I have a video on my channel washing the plastidrip with a pressure washer if you want to check it out. Thanks for the support 👍
How many cans do you need for both sides?
1 can and still had by feel about half left?
Chrome is still nice.....it just depends on the car and the look you're going for
For sure 👍
How about car wash..? Is this thing waterproof?
I hand wash it at home, not sure how it'll handle car wash machine. It's been in the rain plenty of times, no issues. I have an old video of me pressure washing it on my channel if you want to see it.
Its been about a year now. My question how has the plastidip been holding up has it been fading or still looking nice?
Thank you.....
It still looks good, held up thru the weather, pressure washer and no issues so far. I have a short video update that I uploaded a few weeks ago, check it out when you have the time. Thanks for watching 👍
Need advice on how to chrome delete my Jeep SRT grill inserts.
Would it come out? If I go to the car wash. That’s my concern
I pressure wash my car at home and have not taken to a car wash. I'm guessing machine car wash has a higher chance vs hand car wash. Hopefully someone that has might share their experience.
How long did you wait in between coats?
No cutting or anything? Just peeled off?
I wanna do this to my IS300
Hi! I wait about 15 mins in between sprays. Low humidity and the temp was around in the 90's. Depending where you live you might have to wait a bit longer.
No cutting, just peel off. If you mess up, you can peel if off and start over. Best of luck on your IS300, hope it turns out great 👍
Do you think the rain guards would still stick to them 🤔
It'll stick to them, but the plastidip is thin. I wouldn't install rain guards on top of them, it'll probably fall off.
