Great video! Helps at resale to have a stock car. Most people don’t want somebody’s else’s customizations. With the Plasti Dip you just peel it off and you are back to stock.
It’s not the cheap way out. It’s the best way. Looks great, can be taken off, you can always change color, easy to fix if you mess up, and comes off if you want to sell and put it back to factory look! People are too quick to judge these days without realizing the reasons people use plastydip! Yea sometimes it’s about budget, but 70% of the time, it has nothing to do with budget. It cost me almost $100 for 5x cans regular and 4x clear coat. Plus a can of 2k clear. It only cost about $200-$250 to get them painted. So it’s not the cheap way out. It’s the smart way. JMHO
Id say that it, plus a few microfiber towels & a good cleaning solution to clean the surface of whatever you're painting. Im no pro at it, but im going to do the same to my vehicle. @G8oo8N8
Strong work. Great tips on using the Dip. I was a little scared, but am gonna try it now. Like the semi-gloss look more than shiny vinyl, plus don't have to buy a bunch of tools. Just a big fat roll of tape, sheeting and most of a nice sunny day. Thanks again for the cool vid and wise advice,.
Great vid! I'm comparing vinyl wrapping my chrome pieces in carbon fiber pattern vs black plastidip. Already bought a real carbon spoiler, so I'm leaning that direction, but thanks for showing people how to do it properly!
Thank you very much for this video. The paint on my grille peeled off after i jet washed my car. I took it to Mercedes-Benz today, and they quoted me £800 to replace the grille.
Good video, and good job! Just got a brand new Camry and wanted to murder it out, but I wasn’t wanting to pay the dealership $600 to black out my emblems, or any chrome for that matter
1:33 dam I did it today bro and left space between the trim and seal and it messed me up when peeling off ! So tmr ima cover the seals and do it again.
Nice tutorial for how to use plastidip! It was just a bit painful seeing you using a microfiber towel that came into contact with the concrete pavement. That can cause swirls and scratches on the paint really easily.... Other than that, great content! 👍
Super durable! You can power wash your car. I’ve been through all types of car washes no problems. You’ll only have problems when they change your tires
If you know the reason. Are you supposed to have a thin layer of overspray or can you completely mask off everything. Like does it only stick to chrome trim and not the body of the car. I’ve only done actual spray paint
It sticks to everything, but here’s the thing. When you over spray, it’s usually over a part that is separate from what you are painting, so all you have to do it use a razor blade to start a small cut, then peel the rest off. Should pull off evenly around any edge, separate part of car. For example, when you spray and emblem, the emblem sticks out, so you can pull off the over spray easily, just do it carefully around the emblem so you don’t pull off what you don’t want to. There is a decent amount of time to pull off dip on certain parts before it completely cures. I would say you have at least a week, then it starts to cure, which is great because even a car wash won’t rip it off. If you eventually want to take off yourself. Make sure you have done at least a minimum of 4 coats, or your going to regret it when trying to remove.
Sometimes it easier to stand on the up wind side and let the wind carry the plastic over the car. Tape in a few places, then move to the other side to tape.
my question is is it possible to get the result as glossy as i would paint it with gloss shiny black becuse i have feeling i wont get a result as i would get from gloss black spray
People that say it’s the cheep way out are wrong and if overdue gets on your car soap and water take is it off and if you have a pressure washer that’s works to
Does this last for bit or will it eventually start coming off? I bought some custom cut vinyl for a chrome delete and the vinyl is unforgiving. It gets by is and if you pull to much it stretches and looks weird. Thinking about getting a satin plasti dip color if they have it.
@@bluerineimb1148 Well I Dipped my grill pretty much right after I made my previous post and it is still doing just fine. Also drove from Ohio to Illinois and back with it on too.
@@bluerineimb1148 Yep I clean it everytime I wash my car. Use regular dish soap or get a natural all purpose cleaner like Simple Green. They both work just fine. Just don't scrub too hard. I have also used a rubber cleaner on the wheels I Dipped and the rubber cleaner shines them up real nice.
I base it off my skill set, how fast I can get it done and how far id have to travel. I also offer a warranty with all of my dips so I include that in my pricing
Plasti dip is a total waist of time & effort your forever correcting it I done my window trim just like this I was putting rainx on windows & a spot dropped on the trim I dident notice it straight away when I touched it it melted a hole right though the dip has to do the whole length of trim again eny cleaning products destroy it on contact if you have it on your grill forget trying to clean bugs off if you do it will strip the dip it's useless
I’ve got my personal vehicular washed at numerous car washes for years and never ever had this problem. Possibly your dip wasn’t applied the correct way.

What about in a carwash? And how long should you wait when dipped the car before washing? Nice job looks awesome.😮
Thanks bro! Give it a week before you get it washed and car washes are fine! Hand washes are best
Best color combination for that car. Well done
Thanks! 👍
so when peeling off did you use a toothpic or something to keep it from peeling off the trim at all. To kind of separate it?
Thank you very much for this video. The paint on my grille peeled off after i jet washed my car. I took it to Mercedes-Benz today, and they quoted me £800 to replace the grille.
sheesh
You got skills bro! You're good at what you do & you're patient with it. Keep grinding bro, i wish you much success! 💯✊🏾
Looks tight👍 how come it doesn't need knife trimming before peeling the excess off ? Also how many cans did you use to do your car ? Cheers
Good video, and good job! Just got a brand new Camry and wanted to murder it out, but I wasn’t wanting to pay the dealership $600 to black out my emblems, or any chrome for that matter
So the plasti dip just rips off of the trim like that? No need to cut or anything?
I can’t believe how good this looks! This shit buying off Amazon is hundreds to get the black pieces. I like chrome but the black looks sexier
7:50 Bro's too talented how you moving yo hand like the ocean bro too smooth
Lol thanks man
I chrome deleted the index markers on my watch . Masking under magnifier glass with tweezer. Plasti dip transparent matte is perfect for this.
Did a great job about to to my altima and black it all out!
You got this!
I’ve watched a lot of DIY, and you have a great style. Loved watching this video.
Thank you so much!
I agree!
Covered the whole wip, I wasn't planning on doing all this but I guess I will.
Do you have to wait any length of time between applying it and peeling it away? When you got ready to remove the tape did you have to make any cuts?
If the tape is peeled away almost immediately after application, there is less chance of peeling it from the intended part.
Chrome doesn't even look bad, but damm does black look good
Great vid man. Car looks amazing

Looks factory! Definitely gonna give this a try
You should!
I can't get find a space between the grill and the radiator to block overspray 😢 please help 🙏🏾
How long will the plasti dip last? Can you go through the automatic car wash? How durable is it? Want to do my emblems on my truck.

It will stick to everything. I usually leave mask off about a inch from emblems so it makes it easy to peal off the excess
It sticks but easily removable

How long did it last before chipping/peeling? Grill and window trim?
looks good and not permanent, i like it

solid video and props to the materials needed in the description
Thank you !
What does it look like after a year of pressure washing?
Sometimes it easier to stand on the up wind side and let the wind carry the plastic over the car.
Tape in a few places, then move to the other side to tape.
Great video. Helpful stuff. Thanks man. Nice work on the car too.
Appreciate it!
How many cans of plasti dip did you use exactly i bought 2 for same amount of chrome you painted is that enough
Get 4 to be safe!
@@THROWSOMEDIPONIT thanks
Is that simple green youre using to clean the area before application? Or what should i use? Degreaser seems about right cause im not using acetone😂
Yep! 50/50 mix of simple green and water
Is there anywhere you can point me towards removing the front trim . Mine broke and I ordered a replacement but can’t find a removal guide . 😢
How long did you wait to peel tape off?
nice Florida sunshine!
Super helpful video bro! How many cans did you need roughly for your grille?
Thanks bro for the grill you can get it done w one of each
Did you use gloss clack plasti dip or matte in video?
this was black with glossifier added as a top coat.
Can you use any clear or does it have to be the same brand?
Same brand
Good job, looks great! 💪
Thank you!
Quick question… could I still take my car through a car wash or would it rip it off? I’m looking to do this to my car.
stick to the hand car washes. regular car washes are ok but can be too rough for the dip so it might scuff.
my question is is it possible to get the result as glossy as i would paint it with gloss shiny black becuse i have feeling i wont get a result as i would get from gloss black spray
Have you ever done the door handles?
Yes! Check out my ig instagram.com/Throwsomediponit
Can you do this on the luxury version of the c300 with the different grill in front and hood emblem ?
Yes of course!
What's the plastic covering called? I want to buy some.
Looks great, good job!

how many cans did you use for this?

Thank u!
I’m assuming this is safe for the car when spraying the grille?(being so close to the wires and parts?)
I worry about the radiator gettin clogged
How long do you have to wait to drive your car after painting your grill?
You can drive immediately !
Sir how much u charges
Can you spray the hood&trunk ?? In the plasti?
Yes 👍🏽
You don’t have to use gloss right? You can just use plasti dip?

2-3 years !
Can I paint with only Plastidip glossy without using classic, matt one before?
No . It’s like using a clear coat
What tape do you use and where can I get it?
just regular blue painter's tape
I have the same benz i want it blacked out. Where are you located
Inland empire / LA !
do i let it dry between coats?
Of course
TYFYS!
Is it okay not to take the grill off cuz the spray would go through all the way to radiator ?
Mask off the radiator after opening the hood.
Can i spray plasti dip in cold weather?
Yeah but i wouldn’t recommend
very nice video, now i feel i can do it ;)
310! Im doing this to my benz!
How do you cover behind the grill so you can spray without getting it back there ?
You can just take it off
You add tape. It takes a bunch of small pieces of tape and quite some time to get it so they cover the inside of the plastic behind the badge.
How does it hold in car washes
hand car washes will be your best friend.
Do you know how long that dip will last on the trim?
Years! Trim lasts the longest I would say a good 4/5 years
About a week if you clean your car

These are clients vehicles I do. If they book me on a windy day I have no control over it.
Drops microfibre cloth on ground then uses it to wipe over car bodywork 🤔😐
Did you just dip your radiator :D, you even see some of the holes in the grill closed.. not recomended... unlessyou want a overheated engine..
