Even the fortune 500’s are harsh the higher spring rate may be better maybe, if you don’t want to feel shock absorption in your spine (any damper rate) didn’t help in my situation.
Make sure the endlinks aren’t hitting your LCA’s, also ALWAYS recheck preload. Fortune Auto has warning stickers on each strut however two of my struts preload was not set correctly. I have a video and posted the fix on the clunking
@@waybach I will be checking end-links. I did install the set that came with the coilovers, but I also have a set of aftermarket adjustable Whiteline links that I may install. Probably make the links about 1” shorter than I have now and install.
@@brian6speed ohlins isn’t even comparable to most coilovers you’d encounter. Most utilize solid tops that do in fact increase suspension noise. Ohlins uses rubber tops. If these had rubber tops, I’m sure they’d be silent as well. Had the shop set them correctly the first time and not the 5th time, I’m sure my experience might have been better.
Also don’t set dampeners close to all the way stiff, and grease up under the bushings on struts or you’ll end up getting louder squeaking noises later on. The grease will permanently get rid of the squeaking noise per my email convo with Fortune Auto. They sent me some grease and the squeaks were eliminated 100%. but I’ve done extensive research on the squeaking if you have any questions lmk… and yes, I’ve never ran into coilovers issues ever, until I put them on the VB. I’m dealing with popping noises now, possibly coming from driver side Axle, smh..
@@WholeCosmos I wouldnt suggest using locktite on these aluminum suspension parts. Might end up pulling the threads. On all the steel parts. Already have done it.
@@waybach no clunking at lock. Only clunking when hitting what look to be small bumps. When I did have a lock clunk, I quickly found out the cause and it was the 2 bolts holding the strut to the knuckle where about to fall out

@@chrislebeast yeah the coilovers I have are pretty knarly on some small bumps… it’s always what you expect to not make noise that slams really hard.

I don't think coilovers are the issue, I think cheap coilovers are. I'm saving up to get the Ohlins.

interesting blasted wheels. sounds like you need to get some money in labor back. maybe use lock tight on the ones that keep coming loose?

Are you getting clunking noises when you drive around in the parking lot and also at full lock turning?
