Amazing info thanks for your honest review- All I been seeing are the mouth watering UEL sound clips and the minor losses in efficiency- this info is gold. But my only thing I have a problem with is if you really are running this without a re-tune. I think that isnt how most people this invested in the car are going to treat this mod- almost everyone modding this far is gonna definitely get retuned immediately- so if I understood your summary correctly, its a bit misleading. I REALLY hope you get the low end response and power back. 150 mi range is BRUTAL, thats literally half or less than half of a regular, protuned car. I would feel regret every day if that was the final result. I hope you'll do a review again after its protuned for UEL- and maybe consider changing the title of this video to "UEL review without tune" because that would really help clear up the performance differences. The oil change sacrifice is HUGE, thanks for covering that. You did good bringing it back below 220 F.
@@KuyaPow626 I only ran without a retune because Dmann, had claimed there was no adjustment made to the tune after the header was installed. Doing a retune now. I should clarify, I’m tuned, just didn’t do a revision for the headers as the tuners who tuned these, said on a tuned car, there wasn’t and changes that required a new tune. I think my car is the exception and does require a new revised tune. On a stock car, 100% need a tune
@@Subi_doo Thanks for the reply. If I'm not mistaken, don't tuners and manufacturers of headers say you should really tune to take advantage of the larger flow capacity? So he will be making an adjustment for it to work better, which means right now its not working optimally by inference. I think we agree it can "get away with it" just like people can reasonably get away with an intake without a tune for months if they just baby the car, but I'm still puzzled how your mileage range is 150 miles. That's crazy, unless your MPG has been sliced by some aggressive, short driving bursts, which I didn't think you did in your summary.
I would send a couple logs to Dman so he can check everything out, I don't think it's right that it's spooling that late and rhe gas milage even with UEL. Definitely check out your heat shields and see if you need to adjust them or maybe even replace them with something more robust since it's so close to the oil pan
@@MikeG4936 they are good headers if your on the track and your running at high rpm. Daily driving, I would shy away from them as they aren’t something that likes low rpm’s when driving slow or in traffic. They definitely increased the top end for sure, but the bottom end suffered and that’s where most people will spend their time dailying this car
I'd suggest a retune for sure. I bought mine off you. No rust. I have put about 6k on mine. I only have the Perrin intake and Noble exhaust. what you're explaining is what my car felt like before it was tuned. Dmann has mine dialed in sweet. Maybe 1- mpg loss. I did take a slight dip in low in power, but nothing bad. Above 2500 it starts to pull hard. Then once 3500 hits it just goes hard til redline. My oil temps ran 210 highest before, now the highest is 214-218.
@@Silverbulletzx3 yeah not sure why mine are rusting but it’s going to happen eventually anyhow just didn’t think it was going to happen this soon. Not a deal breaker as they really need to be ceramic coated and to do that properly the headers get blasted off and then coated. It might be because I drove a few times in the rain no undertray, but who knows, not a big deal. Now that I thought about driving in the rain with no splash shield, It might not even be rust, it might just be heavy staining form water burning off on the exhaust now that I think about it. I’ll have to get under and check again. It’s a brown color.

@@xAstralbody thank you. 🙏 I love these headers, but that being said there are draw backs to getting such a good sounding exhaust. @@mattmanaghan3247 so if I’m cruising 6th gear at 2300-2400, dropping to 3rd brings me to about 3200 rpms which is the lowest rpm I can use to punch it without bogging down.
