My Late Momma made this every Saturday night while playing GEORGE JONES,, GLEN CAMPBELL on the STEREO… daddy would come home from a whole day of of Fishing to the smell of this DELICIOUS GOULASH wafting from the oven. I’m 63 now and OH HOW I MISS HER AND HER GOULASH ❤
@@lisaanders5374 well my mom left some of the grease from the hamburger meat about half and I will tell y'all it definitely adds flavor. but hands down to this feller he knows what he's a doing.😋
My mom made this for a family of 9 in the '50. It is still one of my favorite dishes to make in a SMALLER amount just for me, since I am now alone at 86. So good!
@@patsywilliams5570 Also from a family of nine, and Mom also made this about every other week or so. We canned a lot and it was not unusual to add a pint of this or a quart of that to stretch the recipe and just change it up a bit. My favorite addition was wren's eggs. Didn't know until I was away from home that wren's eggs had a real name, which was horticultural beans. Might have been a cross between pintos and kidneys for all I know. When cooked they looked like a pinto, but with kidney colored 'freckles' that probably led to the description of 'wrens eggs'. Mild of flavor, but a bit more firm than pintos...probably couldn't 'refry' them. Love 'em. Grow some when I can. Store 'em dry and just soak up what I need. Don't need much as there is just me at home nowadays.
Yes same with cooking the onions with the meat and also bell pepper. Think I might make some for our supper tonight, been a long minute since we have had this
Y’all… this might sound crazy BUT I always add a big dollop of bacon grease from the frig to my goulash! It adds that little flavor I just love!! Give it a try., you’ll taste the difference! Love you both! Sherri from eastern Kentucky roots! ❤
Chris I remember when Tammy gotten sick after Vegas with Covid. This is one of my favorite recipes ,our family eats this a least twice a month so easy and so good. Thank you Chris for sharing a good cooked meal.... as Tammy would say LOVE IT 🥰
My husband and I make STUFF all the time. My older sister taught me to make your goulash when I was 16 . I’m now 66, lol. Everyone needs to learn how to cook like this ! Good video
Delicious goulash Chris. I love the hint of how to remove the ground beef grease. I have a hint for you. When I cook with onions I keep a plastic grocery bag to put all my scraps in. Then I can tie them up to put in the outside garbage can to save my expensive kitchen garbage bag another day!
Chris your Goulash looks delicious I’ll be making it and I’ll add about 1/2 cup of chopped green bell pepper to mine , just because I love green bell pepper in my Italian pasta meals !! Thank you so much for making this for us and also for the giving those cooking for us the tip on cleaning up as they go which in the end leaves a clean kitchen !! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
I like chopped green peppers and fresh mushrooms in my Italian herbed goulash. This is a great flexible dish. Easy to opt out Italian herbs for tex-mx seasonings and adding kidney beans and corn kernels to make a yummy chili Mac! And adding cheese of course!
Finally, a live feed that actually interests me! There's something so calming about watching people cook. My mind is blown watching you put the pasta directly in. I would have boiled it first but it makes sense to skip it if there's liquid available already to cook pasta in. I have just never done it this way. Can't wait to try it.
This is an old recipe! Taught to me by my ex husband years ago before we had kids (all adults now) and we called it maccaroni, hamburg and tomatoes. At the end we add Catalina dressing for a change. This is a great tasting and inexpensive recipe for anyone single or with kids and I thank you for sharing this. ♥

This looks so good. I grew up eating Goulash but I swear mine had a bit of sweetness to it. I wonder if that makes it Hungarian Goulash. Either way they are both so good. Tell Tammy that she is beautiful no matter if she's got make up on or not. Her skin is stunning! Flawless..
I love goulash Chris it looks like you've done a very good job you're right most men wouldn't clean up like you do my husband was a good cook he's no longer with this but he didn't clean up😊
As soon as I finished watching this episode, I ran into the kitchen and found all the ingredients to make this goulash, and the garlic toast! You guys, it smells so good in here now! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Hi Chef Chris! Always good to see you in the CVC kitchen adding your special touch to a delish dish! My crew very much enjoys goulash! I usually keep several Zip lock bags of browned meat cooked with the onions and garlic so it can be defrosted and the remaining ingredients added to it, We enjoyed this a couple nights ago, serving it up with some cheddar cheese & jalapeño cornbread. Every now and then we change things up a bit by substituting a small can of Spicey V8 juice or Snap-E Tom tomato beverage when I can find it! Goulash is comfort food at it's best! Thanks for another video!!

You know how a lot of us add about a tsp of sugar to their tomato paste or sauce to calm the tomato sauce?,,, I add about a teaspoon to a tablespoon of chili powder instead and my husband loved the taste.
