You can hold that diaphragm in place with an ignition feeler gauge when installing. Put the diaphragm in place, install the screws, then slide the gauge out.

When I opened up my s&s carburetor to clean it that spring was on top of the ball the little spring the ball went in first. Now that's the way I put it together and it works fine so I'm confused maybe I should put the spring in first and then the ball that's how it looked in the video thank you for the info

Hey thanks for checking out the channel and the video and thank you for bringing that to my attention. I'm going to have to double-check to make sure I didn't put that in backwards its certainly possible. I haven't started that bike yet, I still have to do some electric on it and get the paint work done, but I will certainly double-check that thanks again for bringing that to my attention. I'm thinking if yours runs fine, I'm the one who has it backwards. I will have to fix the video. Ride safe and live life Behind Bars.

Question from a novice- rebuilding the super E my first time. The brass stem for the throttle in the float bowl has a slight notch in it, the rebuild kit didn’t have a new one. It looks like it would come out with a 1/4 wrench. Not sure how to tell it’s clean or if I should take that out? Thanks

Hello Matthew, first I want to say welcome to West Corners Custom Cycles and thanks for checking out the channel I'm glad the video helped you. what you're talkin about is where the gas sprays out of when the accelerator pump is activated. And yes it should be removable, that is why it has the fitting for a wrench or socket on the top be careful don't bend it or twist it up. I don't know how tight it's in there, just be gentle when you're trying to get it out of there. If you want to check if that is cleaned out, and working right. once you get the accelerator pump reassembled, you can put some gas in the float bowl and take the rod that activates the accelerator pump , and pump it a few times. gas should spray out of that little Notch. If it does, than it's working the way it should. If you do take it out you should be able to clean it out with a very thin wire I would recommend the bristle from a wire brush, I hope this answers your question and helps you out if you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask. if I can help you in any way, I , will have a great evening.
