I have that same carb but having trouble finding parts so I’m thinking about buying a new carb altogether. do you know if the 24 in MB24A is the diameter measurement for 24mm? I want to be sure I get a carb that fits
Hey thanks for tuning into the channel and checking out the channel. First off do you have the original carburetor still? If you want to go with the original carburetor I might be able to help you find the parts you're looking for I have some people that specialize in these and I have about 10 or 12 Harley 2 Strokes. As to answer your question I believe the 24 mm is the size of the slide that goes up and down inside the carburetor not the opening where it mounts to the manifold. What parts are you looking for for that carburetor I may even have some of them. Let me know. If you want to go with a after market carburetor measure the opening where it meets up to the manifold. Then go online and find one with the same size opening that is for the same cc motor that you have. If you use aftermarket you may have to change your throttle cable too. Like I said let me know if I can help. I hope this helps a little bit. Thanks again for checking out the channel. Ride safe
@@westcornerscustomcycles Thank you for responding. yes I wanted to keep it original but particular parts are hard to find online. I have a 1970 MLS125cc Rapido. the carb I have is a Dell’orto MB24A & the 2 parts I need to get the carb in working order is 1) single outlet fuel union (banjo) 6mm 2) carburetor top with choke lever (bottom slide of lever attached) The choke lever is the harder part to find, the bottom part of mine is broken and the small rectangular slide is detached from the actual lever so it doesn’t move when I pull the choke If you have them or have any info on where to get them I’d love to give it a look & get this bike running. Thank you
Hey, sorry so long getting back to you. one of the places I find a lot of parts for these is a place called Bill's Custom Cycles in Bloomsburg Pennsylvania they are going to want part numbers. I do not know if you have a parts manual if not you should get one , that has the exploded versions of everything on the bike. shows all the parts , what they're called and, gives the part number. you might be able to find an online one. another place is Sonny's motorcycle repair it's in Massachusetts. the guy only does Harley two strokes I will take a look and see what I have. I know I am looking for that same choke slide for that same carburetor I have. I'll see if I have anything else I hope this helps, the last time I checked Bill did not have the choke slider or I wouldn't still be looking for it. I hope this helps.
